Cant they just upgrade existing MEMU trains to AC with auto-closing doors? It would work out cheaper & LHB ones will still have a decent lifespan remaining!
Simple & efficient services should be the way.
Likewise in all express-trains, the trains should've auto-closing doors & they can be retrofitted on coaches as per Sudhanshu Maniji.
No! It will be expensive! Conversion & retro fitting will be time, money & resource consuming with not much to gain.
Existing MEMUs are also nearing thier end of life cycle & the design philosophy were different when they were designed & made.

हां यह बात सही है कि बिहार में ज्यादा जरूरत है क्योंकि बिहार में एक वाले कोच में भी नॉन एसी वाले लोग चढ़ जाते हैं जबरदस्ती तो उनको बहुत जरूरी है लेकिन बाकी राज्यों में भी चलाने की जरूरत है ऐसा नहीं है

When Kanpur Lucknow will get memu trains between these two cities.
Ek time tha jab Kanpur - Lucknow ke beech lagbhag 12 jodi MEMU trains chalti thi. Phir lockdown ke baad in sabhi MEMU trains ko band kar diya gaya. Currently there is only 1 rake of MEMU train which runs only once a day. Why govt has stopped running these trains and when it will start running normally?

@IRCTC Mere hisab se jab Indian Railway itna kuch kr raha hai to wo hr station pe Metro station ki tarah Tickets Scanner laga de, Jise employment bhi Generate hoga aur Railways ka revenue bhi Jyada ho jayega.
We are in 21st Century, Non AC coaches should not exist, AC coaches should be built and tickets should be subsidised.

Non AC should not exist, everything should be upgraded to AC.
एसी में ज्यादा फर्क नहीं होता है।गाड़ी में पंखे का भी ज्यादा होता है। एक कोच में 40 पंख रहते हैं।अब गाड़ी एलबीएस कोच की चलती है, बैटरी सिस्टम नहीं हैबिजली का लोड उतना ही पड़ता है गवर्नमेंट बेवकूफ बनाती है।

Mera maano to 12 coach ki vande metro gadi me 8 non ac aur 4 ac wale coach lagna chahiye.....aur 16 coach wala gadi me 10-12 non ac aur 4-6 ac coaches lagna chahiye. Tab minimum fare inka 200 se niche ho sakta hai ek full non ac trip ke liye.
12 coach version me ac wale coaches intermediate unit ho sakta hai....
Ek hi route pe vande metro chalake kaise pata chal sakta hai ki is gadi me kya badlaw ka zarurat hai?
Personally, not a big fan of this decision,bcz the prices were already very subsidised.

Yes. Well, ekdamm abhi non ac fares nahi parr ussay bass 30% jyaada. Agar samjho abhi ke distance ke liye non AC me ₹10 fare hain toh usay badhaakar ₹13 karr dena, parr trains AC hoanii chaahiye Mere hisaab se. Aap Sudhanshu Mani sir ke bhi kai saare interviews suniye. Unhoanay kahaan hain kii agar India ko 2047 tak developed country banne ka target complete karnaa hain toh abhii se Railways ko fully AC ki direction mein badhnaa hoga. Unke hisaab se abhi se hii AC travel ko affordable karne ke steps uthaa liye jaane chaahiye. Mein unke opinion se sehmat hoon. Logon ko pehle thodi taqleef jaroor hogii parr logon ke travel ka standard kaafi badh jaayega.

This mindset needs to be changed. Indian Railways is for the masses, for everyone. IR has to provide service to the people who cannot afford luxuries but it also has to earn from the richer sections of society by providing them with satisfactory services that they would be happy to pay for.
