  • An early edited flight of my Depron V-1 although it is actually decorated as a Republic JB2 Loon which was a direct copy.
Unlike the original it has ailerons but no rudder so is flown 'bank and yank'.
A 55 mm EDF is built into the nose of the pulse jet so it is externally true scale.
Constructed in 3 mm Depron with a balsa box spar it is light so has quite an adequate performance.

Is this a Kit or scratch built?

It is entirely a scratch built in 3mm Depron using a '3 view' and pictures on the internet. It flies as well as it does, hand launch and belly land, simply because it is light!

Aerodynamically the V-1 is a conventional layout despite its unusual appearance. I set the cg at 25% wing chord. Just a bit ahead of the position of the tubular spar in the full size.
