Hello. I need some help with some things. 1) My model seems to have no section box. Just two boxes, one inside the other, named "scope boxes". What is that? 2) Also, if I don't have some choices for terrain (I don't have pad fill), can I download it somewhere? 3) My interior floor toposolid used the interior boundary of the walls, thus it left a gap where the overhanging wall is. How do I fix that boundary? (Just to know, the tab button didn't do anything for some reason, so I just clicked all the walls)
**1) Scope Boxes:** A "Scope Box" in Revit is a 3D rectangular element that you can use to define a specific view range for different views in your project. It helps control the extent and visibility of elements in views. The fact that you have two boxes named "scope boxes" might indicate that you have more than one scope box affecting the view. To remove or adjust the scope boxes, you can go to the "View" tab on the ribbon, then select "Graphics" and uncheck "Scope Boxes" in the Visibility/Graphics dialog. If you want to delete a specific scope box, you can find them in the Properties palette while the view is open. **2) Terrain and Pad Fills:** If you don't have the terrain options you need, you might be missing the necessary content or families in your Revit installation. You can download additional content from the Autodesk App Store or from within Revit itself. To do this, go to the "Insert" tab, and under "Link," select "Topography" to access the Autodesk App Store. From there, you can download additional families or content packs, including those related to terrain and pad fills. **3) Toposurface and Wall Interiors:** If your interior floor toposolid is not correctly following the interior boundary of the walls, you may need to adjust the wall profiles or use different techniques to create the desired topography. - **Adjust Wall Profiles:** Edit the profile of the walls to ensure they accurately represent the interior boundary. Click on the wall, and you should see options to edit the profile. - **Create Separate Elements:** If the wall profiles are complex, you might consider creating a separate floor or slab element instead of relying on the toposurface. This can sometimes provide more control over the geometry. - **Tab Key Issue:** The "Tab" key in Revit is used for various functions, and it might not always work as expected. For adjusting wall boundaries, try using the "Edit Profile" option or manually adjusting the sketch. If you're unable to see the Section Box in your Revit model, it's possible that it might be hidden or turned off. Here's how you can check and display the Section Box: 1. **Ensure the View is in a 3D View:** - Section Boxes are visible in 3D views. Make sure you are in a 3D view or a view that supports Section Boxes. 2. **Visibility/Graphics Settings:** - Click on the "Visibility/Graphics" button or use the shortcut "VG" while in the 3D view. - In the Visibility/Graphics dialog, make sure that "Section Boxes" is checked under the "Model Categories" tab. Also, check the "Filters" tab to ensure no filter is hiding the section box. 3. **Section Box Controls:** - If you still don't see the Section Box, you might want to verify its existence and position. - In the Properties palette, select the element you are working on (such as a wall or floor) and check if there's a Section Box parameter. Ensure it's set appropriately. 4. **Reset Section Box:** - If you accidentally adjusted the Section Box and it's not visible, you can reset it to the project extents. - Go to the "View" tab on the ribbon. - Click on "Graphics" and then choose "Reset to Extents" under the "Extents" drop-down. 5. **Check Phase Settings:** - Sometimes, the visibility of elements, including Section Boxes, is affected by the Phase settings. Ensure that the current phase and view phase are appropriate.
on explanation for pointing the wall but not click, you said press "...?...." after that all wall become highlighted . What that I have to press? f? @? or what?
hi mate, i just created a new toposolid and name it Pad Fill. Here are the thickness of the layers: 1 Structure [1] - Material: Sand - Thickness: 100 2 Structure [1] - Material: Gravel - Thickness: 200 3 Core Bound Layers Above Wrap - Thickness: 0 4 Structure [1] - Material: Soil - Thickness: 1550
Excellent explanation and valuable information, thank you very much.
thanks for watching and you are welcome!
Bro i cant tell you how much i appreciate you. You have a gift for teaching. This is an amazing series.

sorry for confusion, that is TAB on keyboard. hover your pointer over the wall without clicking it then press TAB until it selected the element.
@@bim360 thank you
you're welcome
I do not have "Pad Fill". where can it be?
hi Joaquin, i can send the exercise to you. Message in my fb page and give me your email add.
Pad Fill is also not an option of my version of revit 2024. How do we add it?@@bim360
