  • In this tutorial, we modify a Procreate brush that comes with the app, explore the Reference and Selection settings of layers, and work with layer blending modes and Opacity to simulate torn paper. Torn paper goes great with digital art projects like scrapbooking, photo collage, poster art, and so much more!

    I followed the instructions but when I tried to colour fill the first line it just fills the whole page. I had the reference turned on?? What was I doing wrong?

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  22 дні тому

      @@emmashillington1075 thanks for your question. I’m not 100% sure, but it’s possible that either the original line has a gap somewhere or that the fill threshold needs to be adjusted down. Best wishes 🤗🩷

    Glad I discovered you! Very cool tutorial...way more realistic than the one I just bumbled into being (I'm a newbie w/ Procreate). I wonder if you can help this newbie. I recently changed some settings, and sadly, a "tool bar?" showed up that won't go away. I've tried all the settings...even googled how to get rid of it, but it is still there. It is a bar with 5 choices: undo/redo/zoom/move/fit canvas. I can move it around my project, but can't turn it off. It wasn't there before, and it gets in my way. Any ideas?

      Thank you for commenting. I’ve been looking into the issue you’re experiencing and haven’t found how to reproduce it yet. But, I have a few more ideas to try and will let you know. Meanwhile, happy creating🤗❤️

      @@LizNess thank you for pursuing this for me. I’ve continued to try to figure it out, and am still stumped. I can send you a screen shot of it if that would help, but don’t see a way to accomplish that in this format.

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Рік тому

      @@46Shar I just figured it out 😀 Under the Wrench/Help/Advanced Settings, if Single Touch Gestures Companion is toggled to on, you’ll see the UI you’ve mentioned. Toggle it off and that should do the trick🤗❤️

    how do you do this with pictures in procreate?? like a ripped collage?

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  2 роки тому +3

      What a great idea for a video--thank you!
      Meanwhile, You could place the photos under the ripped cyan paper or you could clip the photos (with a clipping mask) to the cyan paper in place of the shadow texture (e.g., don't apply a shadow to the top of the cyan paper).
      How ever you go about it, best wishes and thanks for commenting 🤗❤️

    At 4:45 why does my color drop fill the whole page and not just to left of the diagonal line? ☹️

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  2 роки тому +1

      There are two possibilities (that I have encountered before). The diagonal line may not span edge to edge of your canvas-sort of allowing color to “leak” out through the crack. I’d check to see if there are any small gaps. The other possibility is that the threshold on the color fill tool is too high. Try dialing that back a bit and see if that works. 🤗❤️
