  • Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - Double Front Flip into a Catwalk! Bikes roll at 5:55. Welcome to the RCSparks Studio Race Track! Charged and ready, these 2 wheeled electric brushless machines are poised for action. By first letting the e-Gyros get up to speed these bikes are incredibly stable even at slow speeds. It takes some time to get used to the steering.. but this is our FiRST TiME running these bikes.. and like anything worth doing - this takes some practice. Good job to my bud Everett - he seemed to get a hold of the bike fairly quick. I have been told that about the 4th battery pack.. you start to get the hang of this bike. We ran two packs, and I agree. Progression each time.
Here is the site I discovered these bikes on. www.armodelling.com/
For the specific bike I am using in this film - here is a short link: bit.ly/1SjKzfs
I was hunting for a new off road bike and came across a website for AR Racing. This site is ITALY based, and looks like they may have a pretty good lineup of RC bike-based products. I wanted to get a few of these here so we can see what they are all about, and to get prepared for the coming season. I want to see how well these do in the snow! Being waterproof, I am excited to get out and have some fun..
Here is some help on what an e-Gyro does specifically:
An E-gyro is controlled by a (small) separate gyro esc and brushless outrunner motor that spins a flywheel inside rear wheel, while a mechanical gyro is powered by the rotation of rear wheel, with internal gears and clutch mechanism that spin the flywheel.
An E-gyro is a completely independent system, so no mechanical drag on drive system from having to turn gears, which means faster spinning flywheel and a more efficient system.
The Bike’s motor delivers power more consistently and on tap so throttle control should be better thanks to e-gyro running independently.
An E-gyro keeps bike stable all the time so bike can go slow or fast whenever and for however long you want, so new drivers can learn easier, but a bike with m-gyro requires long straights to help maintain max flywheel speed so bike is stable.
An E-gyro opens the door to racing on tracks now because long open straights on track are not required like with the m-gyro. E-gyro is running full speed all the time (until battery runs low) so bike has great balance everywhere. With an m-gyro (mechanical gyro), once bike gets into mid section of track with braking, turns, and jumps the gyro slows down and bike will begin to wobble, tank slap, and flip flop all over the place until track opens up with long straights again.

As a mountain biker. The reason the rear suspension is so soft is so that when you go off jumps it doesn't "Kick" and cause the bike to tip forward, especially when you don't have a rider on the bike to shift his weight around to compensate.

    • @dannersmyers

+Alex Alvarez you can buy them already waterproofed, otherwise packing it with epoxy or spraying it with a water repelling spray are other ways of doing it, neither of which are always 100% successful. I would recommend buying waterproof from factory.

I used to have a Jeremy McGrath one 20 years ago it was super hard to drive at slower speeds you had to go pretty much full throttle for the gyro to work also the gyro ran off bike speed the self motorized version is fantastic. And the steering wasn't super sturdy so it death wobbled easy BUT I used the crap out of it for years

    • @TomwithaDream
      @TomwithaDream 8 років тому

+Ryan Cooke is right, bikes with raked forks (basically all bikes, road and off-road) lean to turn. And this lean is best and easiest initiated by getting the front wheel to the outside of the intended turn, then the bikes center of gravity will lean itself over into the turn. You return to upright by turning the front wheel back under (and a little past for a sec) the center of gravity. It will be harder to 'feel' not riding the bike but that's how its done.

funny.. that swing style steering linkage seems to be a fan favorite!.. i have a 1/4 scale street bike and the 1/6 dirtbike both toy grade.. but same steering.. i think the dirt bikes have manual gyros.. and i have never looked that closely into the big one..
any ways... Squrrel!! lol i bet id you adjusted the tension higher on the springs on the steering link. they would be more responsive... less likley to recover from death wobble.. and on that note.. did not seem too fast.. was that full out?

Love your vids medic keep up the great footage, the racing boats upstream was some funny stuff. I have seen these types of bikes since they came out in the 90's as I sold them in a hobby store & seems like instead of the gyro they could just use more power, like Tim Taylor says lol. A good 9.5 X20 with a decent esc would do the trick to keep em upright ;D Still looked like a lot of fun! The street bikes look a little more realistic running, both look awesome standing still! The rear swing arm, sprocket & chain looks real!

I got a TYCO RC Harley Davidson years ago. And watching this reminded me haw much fun it was to drive! To get it to do a sharp turn you need to turn moor with the rear wheel. By using the brake and throttle you can get the rear of the bike to fly round. But to much throttle and it will do a doughnut. But that can be fun as well! ;-) Have a go with it on your shop floor. Have fun! :-)

And counter steer in the middle of the turn to cause more turning at slow speeds... Nothing to it LOL. You guys look like you got it all under control anyways, just practice time. Will schools me when we go, so maybe I should come practice with you guys LOL. Awesome vid, thumbs up
