Sorry for the late response. I cover it in the video... But it's a pretty in depth video and can be missed. I like that the buckles and hardware are not in front of me. When climbing on the eFoil board and laying on the deck it is more comfortable without the buckles and hardware beneath you. There is also less risk of the buckles scratching the board and or traction padding. It's all about the positioning of the buckles. Comfort and mitigation of scratches. There are some side entry vests that still put the buckles in front though the zipper is on the side, but it's very rare to see this.
Nice video and solid thoughts. I ride with a front entry vest and have noticed some imprints/scoring on the deck pad due to the buckles. Might look into a side entry vest. Thanks for your videos!
