As a iPhone user form the begining of iPhone, this one became my dayly driver in 2 days of use. I love it. It is cheaper than the Samsung and iPhone top end phones.
It looks good and has bumped up specs from a normal android phone/mainstream phones all it needs is an upgraded camera system on the next model and it’s arguably the best android phone.
No , it also needs a bigger and better battery, more updates, longer support, better software and better optimization. They should also change design to be like the previous models but without a front camera

I love the headphone jack I need expandable storage, and a I.R Blaster, I travel a lot and as a photographer and I store photos from my camera and my phone , I also store movies and demonstration videos of my shoots. I stay in hotels a lot and most hotels now charge extra for a remote control for your TV, if you have a I.R blaster you can control most TV,s from your phone 📱 So the folded format would be great but I am not prepared to pay HUNDREDS MORE for a phone because it has ab it more memory which I can't swap out. Rant OVER! ❤ So I will go and buy the top ASUS gaming phone.
Hate to break it to you, but this phone does not support expandable storage nor does it have an IR blaster, the Pro model does have 512GB of built-in storage though

The rog phone 8 air triggers are a down grade from the rog phone 7 or versions before they basically as far i know accept tap's only and no swiping and other features from models before it

I like the hifi dac on the newer asus rog phones but I still prefer the red magic under the display camera and diablo mode to overclock the cpu and gpu for more gaming performance. I would buy a phone with no front facing camera with a 100% screen to body ratio with 2 display options an oled and mini led. I prefer using a mini led display since every device that I use with an oled display already have burn in issues and the display white colors have turn yellow like a clear cell phone case that turns yellow. Even attach a usb c dongle with a usb camera to replace the front facing camera than use the built in front facing from the phone for better camera quality. Maybe plug a go pro camera with a usb c dongle to the phone or something like that.
I love my rog 6, its front firing stereo speaker is damn good, long battery life, nice design. But the only thing i hate about rog phone is that their camera still sucks even on rog phone 8
Bro the triggers are defective please play call of duty and notice that they shoot randomly and are very crappy they should have stayed with the 7 design sturdier bigger and ultrasonic buttons that work

I had ROG Phone 2, I do have ROG Phone 5, and next month I'm waiting for my ROG Phone 8 Pro... About the Armoury Crate app, The Sounds and the Launch Animation can be disabled in the Settings, but I'm disappointed that the app still looks the same like that one I'm having now on my ROG Phone 5, no improvements... 🥴🙄

I think Asus has completely missed the mark on this one, it's no longer a gaming smartphone, it's a standard, banal smartphone, and on top of that too expensive, with a mediocre camera system and only 2 years of Android update 🤦🏽♂️ $1100 for that is way too expensive and brings nothing more than an iPhone 15 Pro Max, OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14, Vivo X100 Pro or Galaxy S24 Ultra with an active cooling system attached to the back 🤷🏽♂️ I think Asus should have simply updated the design of the Zenphone 7 Pro, kept its 6000 mAh battery 🔋 or even increased to 6500 mAh,lower the price by $200, offer at least 3-4 years of Android update, but above all, kept its active cooling system. This smartphone is really not a good deal, and especially no more of a gaming smartphone especially against a $650-$800 Redmagic 9 Pro, it's clearly not a gaming smartphone.

I have oppo find x2 pro since it came out in 2020, it has Qhd display, but for the last years its always been in 1080p, because i cant see no diference between the two, if not for the battery draining faster. Phones have such small screens that 1080p is more than enough for a crisp image

You can disable the music playing on Armory Crate if I'm not mistaken. I uses ROG Phone 5.
