2:37 is that for real? Wow... Most humans couldn't do that, I couldn't for sure, in fact I didn't even realize he was doing it in order until I slowed it down and carefully looked at it... Incredible, just incredible.
Yeah, chimps tend to have a much better short term memory than humans do. Most researchers think humans lost this in favor of developing language/better communication. vsauce posted a free mind field episode about it called The Cognitive Tradeoff Hypothesis, it's pretty neat, give it a watch if you feel like
To: Gouthami Gokul - It is suspected that chimpanzees possess visual photographic memory. Tests have pointed to this. Considering their natural habitat such a development would prove extremely advantageous. I rather suspect more than a few other animals have also developed this ability.
yes so once the chimp clicked the first box all other boxes appear white so you cant read them you have to remember which numbers were where, and click them in order, definitely better then most humans.
There is nothing that separates humans from other animals than our natural ability to create music, art and complex engineering, but we also must expand our humility, empathy and compassion prudently. Wow, so smart! They are remembering and clicking the numbers in numerical order! I especially love ❤️ the baby chimps. Their big ears, little fluffy white tufts and cute little feets just kill me! Adorable! 🥰 ❤
You could say the same for any large animal. I remember a story from america where a guy raised a Leopard for years only for it to kill his daughter, it was perfectly tame with him but not anyone else. Thats why no one should own these animals as pets EVER!!

But they are very much sensitive, rebellious, revengeful and extremely jealous in terms of affection. The closer you are the more possessive they get. They have a thinking pattern of a baby but is much much more capable

Just watching an adult male chimp running through the canopy 40 or more feet high at full speed trying to catch a monkey it's almost immediately apparent there brain computes way faster than ours. There's no way we humans could run full speed through the canopy without stepping on a branch that's to small. Their brain works alot faster than ours.
