Stuart Steam Hammer, bought off E-bay, was incomplete and rusty & never painted, put a good hone in the bore, media blasted everything, built a exhaust cap & outlet port, made a brass air valve, got the valve proportioned & timed properly, painted (many coats) she runs very well & smooth now.

is there a purpose to these, or are they just a model? it seems like it strikes hard enough to maybe be useful for some very light duty operations.

well Kevin ,they make a great nutcracker @ Christmas time, in reality they are just a working model like most other models, but it could break your finger with enough pressure behind it....trust me on this.
