LOL, when I started playing, Monet didn't even exist and Sengoku was a top tier captain. You are a new player, in comparison. Gear Third Luffy was legitimately a good choice. Changed indeed.

Just something extra about the OPTC database for those who dont know what it is, you can search for the specials you need by the class, or colour you need to build a team. Its super useful
Great Video as always , this will help new players greatly, especially now the 9.2 patch will allow more sophisticated search for characters. It would be great if you could make a video showing the types of buffs and debuffs found throughout the game (i.e orb boost, chain boost, rainbow shield, burn) and how they effect your team's ability to do damage, I'm sure there are many out there who would find it beneficial. Again thanks for all your hard work Toadskii !
I did that using my best characters (luffy 5+ and the intire 5+ crew) when I started playing 2.5 years ago😂. At that that time I thought that was the best team..

Spectacular job toadskii, covered most if not all of the bases for players to understand the game's team building. If you ever decide to do a sort of basics guide for newer players, you might want to include things like carrying over effects from room to room, captain actions, stalling, switching targets mid-combo, learning which targets to prioritise, how some effects (like color affinity/orb boost) can work negatively and not just positively, what the different debuffs in the game do etc. ** For any new players reading this: Your early game should be focused on getting more and more characters and getting their specials leveled up where possible AND GETTING SLOT EFFECTS ACTIVE ON THEM. Grind out the daily mastery and forbidden tome islands, rookie quests/class specific quests to expand the options you have. You'd be surprised how useful some of the characters in those easy quests are.

just nitpicking here, but for your unit placement, shouldn’t you have switch smoker and tesoro’s placement (so smoker would be bottom row and tesoro middle row)? so when you use smoker’s special, doffy 6+ will be on bottom, and then you can use tesoro special so that both doffy 6+ get matching orb, resulting in more damage to fujitora
ah farming a few gems here and there to get 2 multis in the lawffy sugo, i spent all my gems on slasher sugofest, and got all my faves- carrot, mihawk, tesoro and v1 katakuri
For those beginner, u will have chance to recruit ten straw head pirates member. Just remember......... Keep retry to recruit gear 4 luffy or snakeman even though it takes u few hours... It is definitely worth it.

On my first ticket summon I got the kizuna zoro and Sanji so now I run a full double units team with chopper and carrot as the lead. I need help understand whether things are used for super evolving or training or a regular character.
I know this is late but I have a question in regards to abilities, there is something I can't understand how, I started playing optc I have Int Uta and Marco in his pheonix form that can give me rainbow orbs heres my question, I went on a quest where both my captain and support captain is both Uta, and nowhere was it written in her captain ability that she can give rainbow orbs, but I did have Marco on my team then and he wasn't the captain but how come I still have the rainbow orbs, when I removed him the rainbow orbs also dissapeared

Bruh.. if you're still brand new and didnt buy any gems, just restart your account and keep rerolling the first 10 posters until you get g4v2 luffy and maybe at least 1 other straw hat legend.

Downloaded the game 2 days ago but I’m still not sure how good my characters are or what abilities are good or bad. I’m also not really seeing through the effects/debuffs. I know the Quick Gear 4 Luffy that evolves into Str Snakemen is good but I’m not sure if I should or shouldn’t evolve him since his captain ability changes. There’s also de-evolving? So could I switch between Snakeman and Boundman? I’d appreciate it if someone could help me Ps: I’m also confused by the slot system. Characters have types, that I know, but they change color during battle or what happens there?
If you de-evolve a super evolved unit, you would need to have those same materials you used to evolved them again to do it again. Slots are given at random during every turn you attack with a unit. Some units have abilities that give you slots at the beginning of your run and some captain abilities give you a higher chance of getting certain slots.
Yoi could get a neutral slot(doesn't glow), a matching slot(glows) or a unmatching slot(dimmed color). Usually matching slots are slots the same color as the unit that got it, but there abilities units have that can make slots other than their color have a matching slot effect, meaning it gives the same boost to that unit as a slot the same color as it would even though it's not the same color.
You can get all of the ships, while playing F2P. Zunesha, Hoe and the Germa 66 ship cost 30 gems, but you can save for those. The Rayleigh shop ones you can buy with points you'll get by selling dupe legends you get from TM and events rewards. Other than those, the best ship depend on the team you are using. For example, if you use a Driven team, Doflamingo's ship is better than the other ones, so it's better to have a wide array of choices. The best story mode ship is the Thousand Sunny. The Coated Sunny is also super good; for some missions is even better than shop or forests ships. If you can get Rayleigh points, I would prioritize The Flying Dutchman as a generic ship for any team, and also try to get both Rocketman and the Kuja ship for zombie teams.
I appreciate your production, and your videos are well-made, but this is just not a very helpful video for beginners. You infodump so much that it's immediately overwhelming, and you use units that beginners probably won't have. The foundation of team-building is there, but newcomers to the game really can't do much with this information. I'd find it a lot easier to engage with if you used only characters from the Friend Point pools, or characters we could get through playing the easier events or the rookie recruit ones. It would be much more useful if we could see some basic teams that work for a variety of things, and maybe a separate video for specifically purpose-built teams, such as ones for raids. But super ultra rare units and units that are only available in pay currency draws aren't going to help most people, and it doesn't make the game look very accessible or friendly. It's one of the major reasons I find Treasure Cruise so disappointing: you have to figure out a specific crew for anything over level four difficulty or so and read the devs' minds so you can anticipate what they'll usually lazily steamroll you with, and most of your loan captains are going to be the same character everyone knows is broken at the moment. But the databases are not that helpful to newcomers, and it starts to sink in that you can't use characters you like, and instead you're stuck with a bunch of random people you might utterly loathe on a crew you have no investment in other than completing the single goal, which is pretty disappointing. I do like a lot of your other videos, though, and I'm very grateful for you taking the time to do them. I would love to see a beginners' video for team-building as it is now, and I know this is by now a rather old one.

It would be much more useful if we could see some basic teams that work for a variety of things, and maybe a separate video for specifically purpose-built teams, such as ones for raids. But super ultra rare units and units that are only available in pay currency draws aren't going to help most people, and it doesn't make the game look very accessible or friendly.
It's one of the major reasons I find Treasure Cruise so disappointing: you have to figure out a specific crew for anything over level four difficulty or so and read the devs' minds so you can anticipate what they'll usually lazily steamroll you with, and most of your loan captains are going to be the same character everyone knows is broken at the moment. But the databases are not that helpful to newcomers, and it starts to sink in that you can't use characters you like, and instead you're stuck with a bunch of random people you might utterly loathe on a crew you have no investment in other than completing the single goal, which is pretty disappointing.
I do like a lot of your other videos, though, and I'm very grateful for you taking the time to do them. I would love to see a beginners' video for team-building as it is now, and I know this is by now a rather old one.
