thank you for sharing! i myself want to make some fakemon fanart but i'm not familiar with stylized 3d work as i usually do more realistic stuff. this helps me get some ideas on how to do certain steps.
Hi Alice, I'm confused what colors should I use on Key, Back and Fill light in timestamp 2:49 , I already did some research on there purposes. But still idk what color should I use. Can you provide your personal explanation on those to help me decide. Thank you always for helping.
Hello! So it doesn't really matter which light is which, because you can adjust it on its own. I just like to use the tri-lamp addon cause it's quick! For shading I took nodes from here - ua-cam.com/video/TpWI2rU8iF0/v-deo.html . What this guy does, is you take Diffuse bsdf, then Shader to rgb node and put it through the Separate RGB node. Then add ColorRamp with Constant mode, through the Multiply (MixRGB) node - connect group output to it as a second slot ( it lets you control colors of the model easily). Repeat this for G and B channels, and connect outputs of those Multiply nodes with Add (MixRGB) nodes. And that's it! As for colors I kinda eyeballed it hehe, for reference, I used C95853 as main, FFC5C5 as key, DA5752 as fill, 6A6A6A as shadow and FFFAFF as back to get the reddish Darumaka color. And I actually just realized, that all of the lamps here were blue colored 😅 So you could just drop that nodes mess after all and use your usual lighting and shaders, as I did for Pochita for example
This method with RGB separation is good for preventing unwanted shadows though, because you can just make your shadow color the same as your main color. And you don't have to uncheck shadows from lamps this way. I think I used all RGB lights in my Happiny model, it was pretty useful there
Isn't Darumaka the cutest? 😁

It is built in Blender, check in preferences - addons - search - tri-lighting
