I second what you said about chemical and physical sunscreen. The only one that doesn't make my skin feel red or burnt after sun exposure and keeps my melasma at bay is always physical.
I am with you about Naked Sunday mineral sun screen! I learned about it from one of your earlier videos. I had always used mineral sunscreen but this is far superior than any other that I have tried. 2 finger lengths is a must.
As someone who doesn’t do well with tretinoin/ret, yet my skin is pretty resilient (not super sensitive so not sure what it is about tret that makes me peel for literally two weeks) I’m excited to try this peel ! Thank you for showing us the process Melissa, Los Angeles
You mentioning chemical sunscreen makes me wonder. A couple years ago after being on vacation I developed what I thought was sun poisoning. I was confused because I am very diligent with my sunscreen. Often, though, when I have my whole family on vacation I buy chemical sunscreen. On my face, however, I have been using ones that you have recommended. My face barely burned. I didn’t really burn on my body but this awful rash popped up. It was there for months and even a dermatologist couldn’t figure it out. Assumed it was viral. But, I wonder if the sunscreen I was using had anything to do with it. That may not be what it was but you bring up an interesting point. What is also interesting is it happened again the following year. I knew how to manage it and it faded more quickly but maybe my skin just cannot handle chemical sunscreens anymore. 🤷🏻♀️My daughter can only use mineral or her eczema flares terribly. So I have always bought her something different.
Beth, isnt it so intetesting? There is so much conflicting info online and so many staunch opinions but I know my body and I know my skin too, chemical is no longer for me!
Min 10:42, you just confirmed what i keep feeling. I have malasma and i will not go out untill it cools down bc the heat makes me turn red and hurts like a sunburn. I go to dermatology in November, so on the meantime im tryi g to learn as much as i can. Your videoes are helping so much ❤
Hi beautiful!❤ I've missed your face... You were my favorite part of Saturday morning.Getting ready for work, watching your videos.... A new job, a few months back, changed that ..😢 But I have to say you look amazing, Michelle!❤ #aginginreverse😍
Love this video. I did not know that about chemical sunscreen. I love mineral sunscreen mainly use Elta MD but I’m going to get the naked Sunday at target today!
It leaves a VERY dewy finish. I bought it (before it came to Target, so I had to wait for shipping from Oz) and was so excited to get it. I used it once and I looked like I was having a hot-flash that wouldn't go away. But I'm _extremely_ fair-skinned, so maybe that's why 😞
@whereisleigh Elta MD is fantastic. I used Elements for years but switched to their UV Clear. Haven’t tried Naked Sunday. Beauty of Joseon is one I didn’t like at first but do now.
@@kt9495 i love elta md as well…. I purchased the naked Sundays a few days ago….I wore it the last two days and it was great. It seems like it will be too thick and dewy but once I rubbed it in, it was perfect! I think you will enjoy it.
I apply sunscreen every single day and wear that sun sheild when I cut the grass, etc ..I bought the bluestone? Sunshield and wore 70 spf when I went on the boat, but came home and had melasma. We reap what we sew though...I was a laying out in the sun with baby oil for 25 years. I do the tca about once a year and sometimes I just don't get a good deep peel despite layering a 20%! I buy the teeny tiny trial size tca' and I find it loses efficacy after a while and the trial is enough for my face and neck. I do my chest and hands too though. Ok let me stop running my mouth lol
This video was for me. I've never done at home peels and would like to try it. Tinted mineral sunscreens are recommended for those with melasma. That's me these days, so hard to get rid of it. Enjoy your trip! xo
I’ve enjoyed this video and have recently incorporating Cocokind skincare in my daily routine and my skin feels nice. I do need a higher SPF now that the weather has gotten nicer and I’m walking more now. Enjoy your road trip.
@@maturemakeupmasterclass I’ve been getting it at Whole Foods with Prime but if Target sells it, I can go there and also get the Naked Sundays SPF. Be well!
@@maturemakeupmasterclass I usually get it at Whole Foods with Prime. I’ll have to check out Target next time. I’m building up my supply one at a time. Be well and stay safe.
Naked Sundays, Summer Fridays, Sunday Riley… So confusing! The way I remember Naked Sundays is to imagine the most outrageous picture in my head! The other two brand names don’t really evoke a hilarious picture.
I had read that the UV rays in the spring are stronger because our ozone layer is thinner. You can get a bad burn on an early warm spring day. I have been loving naked Sundays since am learned about it on your channel. This demonstration of your peel really helps us newbies who have never done one. 👌❤️
Do you use the naked Sundays under your eyes? If ao, how does it work under concealer? I am having a hard time finding on that plays well with any concealer that I own. The sunscreens I have are combo mineral/chemical so I don't know what direction to try!! Any advice appreciated. The sunscreens are just breaking apart my concealer, almost making it look separated 🙄
Love you Michelle 🥰 Thank you for this, I feel more comfortable trying peels now. I'm praying for you 🙏 Mark 11:12-26, declare healing in Jesus' name over your body!! Also, by His stripes we WERE healed!! 🤗♥️🙏
Hi Michelle! I shave my face with the Jill Razor about once a month. Is using a exfoliating cotton pad with Micellar Water good enough for everyday exfoliation?
Naked Sundays is my favorite sunscreen! I also like beauty of Joseon, skin 1004, and Purito, but naked sundays is my April-September sunscreen. I don't use anything but mineral sunscreen because I just like it better. I've never done a peel, but you're making me want to. I use Sexapeel twice a day and I have the naturium bha I use weekly. I also have the drmtlgy LA refining serum I use once a month.
For face I use Dermaflash and for SPF body I use 35-50+ spf and anything on sale from drugstore. My face is different, I spend more to ensure it stays pretty closeup ❤
I used to have Melasma and I don’t now. It was substantial too, not in spots but large patches. Going in the sun made it look insane lol. I can’t say I did anything for it I just noticed after awhile that it was gone. I wear mineral sunscreen only on my face and neck and will do a spray of Sun Bum across my chest and shoulders if I’ll be outside gardening or at the beach. I don’t put it on anywhere else.
Thanks for doing this Michelle… it helped cure my former hesitation to start with at home peels. Can’t wait to get into Platinum videos and order their peel… my age spots and freckled nose are not cute @ age 67; I hesitate to go out in public make-up free because I’m so uneven and blotchy. BTW, how does one know if their red cheeks are actually rosacea? Maybe that’s a silly question and I need to get the answer from the Platinum guru’s videos. I can easily cover it with Seint, French Face or a skin tint, so maybe I just have MILD rosacea. Can’t wait to follow your journey further. I’m officially so inspired to even out my face… My Lindsey just found out she’s having a second baby late October, and this Nana wants to see great results by then so I feel very ok about being bare-faced when I “face-snuggle” our new grandson. Enjoy Gracie’s prom and revisiting N. Carolina!
Chemical filters VS mineral which is zinc physical block. Mineral can cause more white cast but they are making better and better minerals that blend in so well. ❤
I didnt peel enough for anyone to notice. i noticed about 4-5 days later I had micro peeling, could only see it closeup in a magnification mirror. Makeup looked flaky but only I noticed ❤
