really interesting. i had theorised something similar because i noticed how my dog was able to react to me going into the camera app completely silent as he slept. i noticed after many attempts to get sleepy pictures of him, and each time tried to get sneakier and sneakier. but you can be perfectly silent and have your phone ready, but the moment you open the camera, he knows something is there. he definitely reacts to something that indicates to him that i’m there. he senses the camera 👀
He can't see light with his eyes closed. Your Phone must emit emit a frequency of sound which is too high to be audible by humans, but still audible to dogs. Autofocus may produce this accidenatly, analogous to how crt monitors emit a high pitch sound only audible to children and pets. To be honest the spider in the vid cant see the infrared autofocus. Spiders sense visible and ultraviolet light with their eyes not infrared! Spiders are very sensitive to vibrations though, living in a net and all that.
Spiders are actually sensitive enough to be able to tell when the camera is on them. The type of system that sets off this awareness is called the lidar system, apparently the camera emits a signal. It slightly irritates. Overall, it's not harmful and it's not like a dog whistle. It's just kind of like a vague vibration and their senses had to be sharp enough to detect any possible threat.
Its a jumping spider it vision is 100x more powerful than an eagles vision and yes the light waves from the the lidar is causing him/her to react! This is how it hunts in nature using refractive light from it's prey to perform the perfect pounce!
Im hoping they would show the spider at the same time as the autofocus
That’s so interesting! I fully believed they were faking it and had pre-made that video. Thanks for teaching me something new today :)
Every one need one genius friend like this.
Awesome teaching but wow so cute! 😭

Genuinely liked the channel, Good vid 👍
Lidar is changing our understanding of the ancient world, discovering cities in jungles we never knew existed.
I love you, so glad youre seeing how important it is.
Absolutely fascinating!
Everyday you really learn something new.
This girl is so pretty
I'm familiar with Lidar thanks to military

cute, smart, and likes physics. She is the perfect woman.
Based take lol.

I don't know why, but i find that you're actually cute tho😅
Keep making more videos, you should do a science news show like Bob McDonald or David Suzuki
Wow you are so cute ❤ i dont care about your explanation, but you are so cute 🌺😊
Make it shorts version, you'll definitely get more views on this video

Was thinking it's something in the phone. That's cool and all, but the physics teacher's skin is even more amazing.
