we need a desk tour though you might have thought sept was the best reading month for you, i really liked hearing your thoughts on all of the books you read. such an interesting mix of books!!!
intermezzo was such a standout in my reading year as well!!! definitely in my top 10 and I SOOOOO wanted to be a hater but everything rooney did in her newest just hit so freaking good. will forever have Peter and Ivan in my heart 🥺💗 also you sold me on sputnik sweetheart!! I've sworn of Murakami forever lol but you got me intrigued
YES! best brother relationship book of the year hands down. and LOL i mean it when i say it, but make Sputnik Sweetheart your only Murakami if you're gonna do him!
wow wow the city and its uncertain walls sounds fantastic, sold. you always make my day nathan! ⭐️ what’s more fitting for autumn, hardboiled wonderland or killing commendatore ??? also what’s your favourite autumn film? let the good people know !
good question! i think Killing Commendatore is perfect for fall! mostly because it's about a scluded house in the woods and it's all the folliage that adds to the mystere of the Murkami world 💫 EEP! fav fall film has to go to You've Got Mail. Ephron and new york fall is unmatched, the perfect pairing
the holds on Intermezzo are perhaps quite wild now i imagine 😭😭😭 and the Cookie stories would be fantastic in between all your reading! plenty of easy reading with her voice! ^^
your thoughts on Intermezzo *almost* make me want to read it and I’ve definitely always fallen in the bucket of Rooney being too young for me 🙈 i love your style of wrap up videos and i walk away with something to check out :)
hahaha i always felt the same way about her work! i think also ever since she first published Conversation with Friends at 27, she has been maturing as a person as she is through her work. i think this is the one that i’ve been waiting for! and thanks for watching! truly means a lot ☺️
"the dirty Babitz" that sent me hahaha🤪 what I would do to read 8 books a month hehe Also whyyyy couldn't my bestie Zo not have picked Sputnik Sweetheart for my Murakami introduction riiip
ngl for the longest time, i thought my yt username would be nathan eats books. bc i really do! and OOP! but bestie, we need to know, what is Zo's top 3 Murakami books we need to know!!!
Could you put the books you have in person on the screen, as well? 🙈 I’m sorry, I think I am probably the only person but it helps me to save the book to read later. I have audio processing disorder, so it’s definitely nothing to do with you. All of these sound amazing!!
hi there! thank you for your message! i’ll be sure to do that next time! i also have the books listed in my description box with a written review too! the physical books mentioned are as follows: -Walking Through Clear Water in a Pool Painted Black by Cookie Mueller -Big Swiss by Jen Beagin -Drift by Jim Miller thanks for watching! ✨🫶🏼
Will need to keep The Italy Letters in mind, sounds like an experience! I also completely agree with Big Swiss, interesting premise, definitely the wrong format.
it's acquired taste! but i hope you get to it! re: Big Swiss - a part of me just wished i watched it as a tv show and i would've been a happy camper 💁🏻♀
If you haven't yet, you really need to delve into Derek Jarman's books! Excerpt from *Modern Nature* - "Periwinkle, 'the sorcerer's violet' - source of potent sky blue love philtres and charms against wycked spiritys - was often woven into garlands for the dead and crowns for the condemned."
@@courtenaywrites also have been meaning to get to her work for a while! Blood and Guts in High School has been part of my tbr for a while now! i just want to find her name in a used bookstore and can never do so! and she’s also in Variety which is in my watchlist! Cookie is also in it!
omg just woke up to the numbers and was shocked but ty!!! and i remember your dislike for the book and literally thought in my head, “well it can’t be that bad!” and OOP…it was…well, fine..
Never read Rooney before but might check out intermezzo if it’s not too long. And u read the murakami book in a house or cabin in the woods, not sitting in the middle of the actual WOODS right? think I told u Big Swiss wasn’t that great, in fact I have to admit skipped thru the last part just cause I wanted to see the ending and get it over with. Be well.⚛️❤
HAHAHA could you imagine just going to the woods to read a single book 😭😭 yes yes twas a cabin ! and i don’t blame you with Big Swiss! you told me right! but i enjoy finding things out for myself! and now content and trusting to say its made for TV and not for the form of the novel!
@@ameliareads589 i make note of this in an upcoming watch wrap up, but yes i do!!! i want to see which part of FFC’s filmography it attributes to, but i’m not sure if it’ll come to korea and i might have to wait for stream…which idk how that’ll work given there’s a portion where Driver’s character talks to a member of the audience lol
@@nathansnook I've read FFC tried to make this movie happen for thirty years or so and couldn't convince any studio to do it. And that he sold his vineyard in the end to do it on his own. Imagine you are doing this and it might be your last film and then it gets torn apart like that?

Rooney's frustration with fanbases seems to be rather interesting and understandable. Wish more authors spoke candidly like that!
yes! for someone who doesn’t do many interviews, this was a breath of fresh air!
"Walking Through Clear Water in a Pool Painted Black" is one of my favorite books and one of my go-to recommendations. Glad you enjoyed it! 😎📚👍
ahhh so good to hear! it’s such an easy one to rec to get someone out of a slump! love her casual conversational tone 💕

i am so embarrassed by desk is a MESS
and i always feel like you do a wonderful job of having such an interesting mix of books! i learn from the best!
The Jim Miller one was the only one I hadn't heard of. Will gladly add to my list!
i had never heard of it prior to my friend who sent it to me, but it was a delight to read a bit of San Diego literature!

right??? perhaps too late for casting, but if there was ever a remake, it needs Plaza
