    Thank you Esterling! After many hours struggling with deploying a MERN stack app to heroku I found your video. It only took 5 minutes to deploy after watching this, great teaching!!

    thank you

    • @accimeesterlin
      @accimeesterlin 4 роки тому +1

      If your client folder is built outside of the backend server folder. You definitely need to take another approach. You can deploy your ReactJS application separately, and have your Nodejs application deployed as well. Then they can communicate over HTTP Protocol by having your ReactJS application making API Request to your back end.

    When I wrote 'git push' to do the first push to heroku, I was given this error:
    remote: Compressing source files... done.
    remote: Building source:
    remote: ! No default language could be detected for this app.
    remote: HINT: This occurs when Heroku cannot detect the buildpack to use for this application automatically.

    To git.heroku.com/subsala.git
    ! [remote rejected] master -> master (pre-receive hook declined)
    error: failed to push some refs to 'git.heroku.com/subsala.git'
    I followed your video step by step, but I already had a build folder from previously "npm run build"-ing so I just referred to it in my server's "index.js" - is this what it is complaining about?
