    Cool little detail with this episode are the men surrounding Jon when he emerges and gasps for air are Bear island soldiers, with their features of long hair and beards. Also, the shield Jon uses to block Ramsay’s arrows has the Bear Island sigil on it. Those 62 soldiers overachieved and prove their worth. They saved Jon’s life!

    One of my favorite scene was when sansa was eating with jon and the nights watch and jon is reading that letter that ramsay sent him. That was the coldest callout in history. And it sparked the whole Snow vs Bolton rivalry. When sansa looked at jon and said "we need to take back our home" and jon just nods...it was right then and there, the megafight of the century just got signed. Shit was like Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Fury vs Wilder. Canelo vs GGG. Crawford vs Spence.

    Sansa lied to Jon. Now Jon Snow knows... nothing. What exactly did you expect? For him to stand by while Rickon runs towards him and Ramsey shoots arrows?

  • @ACinemafanatic
    @ACinemafanatic 5 місяців тому +2

    It’s a bit weird how Sansa wasn’t even sad about Rickon dying even though she knew Ramsay had him she didn’t seem upset or anything I guess the creators didn’t care for him much

    • @NyikoDoris
      @NyikoDoris 5 місяців тому

      I assume she just made her peace with the fact that certain people (Rickon, numerous allies) would have to die for the great good of the Stark name to live on due to years under Cersei and Little Finger’s tutelage. She probably made what was comparatively a smaller sacrifice for a bigger reward aka the “true rulers” of the North to rule.
      I mean overall the Starks are about leading and protecting the North, what is 600 men and a brother to the tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands of lives they could “properly” lead through The Winter in her eyes?

    • @starsimvidz
      @starsimvidz 5 місяців тому +1

      idk Sansa becomes harder and harder to read as the series progresses. I think the writers never properly settled on how they wanted to characterize her post season 5. Sometimes they want her to seem like a Cersei in the making... sometimes a littlefinger in the making.. and sometimes like a kind, empathetic person. It changes episode to episode.. And it doesn't help that they never properly explain her reasoning behind hiding the info on the knights of the vale from Jon. In fact, a LOT of the things she says and does in s6 and after are never properly explained.

    • @gunkulator1
      @gunkulator1 5 місяців тому

      @@starsimvidz Sansa does not become Cersei or Littlefinger, although she learns from both. What she becomes is practical and ruthless. This is out of necessity given her intolerable situation with Ramsey. Sansa knows that there is no way to save Rickon so she is resigned to his death. After her many discussions with Jon, she realizes he's likely to fall for Ramsey's trap and also die. Jon is basically Ned Stark 2.0 and his sense of honor and righteousness makes him a poor leader. She doesn't tell Jon about the knights of the Vale so that their coming can remain secret. There's no reason at all for him to know, there's only risk.

    • @gunkulator1
      @gunkulator1 5 місяців тому

      @@starsimvidz Nah, it's pretty obvious what happened if you're willing to apply a little brain power. Why do you think we got the earlier scene with Sansa and Littlefinger? We find out in this episode that it was to plan for this battle. And god no, Sansa does not get a coming of age character arc. Far from it. That's obvious from season 1. Sansa keeps her motivations and plans to herself because that's what Littlefinger taught her. They even have a conversation about it. Sansa learns to manipulate. First Theon to snap him out of his stupor, then Jon, then Ramsey and finally the master himself, Littlefinger. That's her character arc. Seems pretty obvious to me.

    • @gunkulator1
      @gunkulator1 5 місяців тому

      @@starsimvidz Sansa didn't expect either of her brothers to survive. Jon does not take Sansa to task for it because he knows what she did was right. Jon would have blown the plan had he known about it. No, we don't get a scene about it later but we know these characters by now. As to it being quick, nothing could be further from the truth. Sansa and Littlefinger started planning this in episode 5. Quite a lot of thought was put into it. What we didn't get was everything spoon fed to us. You had to apply your brain to reason it all through.

    Stannis's downfall was part stubbornness and honor/whatisright and probably part sunk cost fallacy. It wasn't the wanting of the throne, he was just unable to see anything else because it is his right. I think it is a matter of Respect for me that made a difference between Ramsey and Jeffery. We meet Jeffery as a little Snit and we instantly lose all respect for him and when he kills Ned a Hot, fast anger hits us. With Ramsey we see he is devious and intelligent, not afraid to be directly involved with his insanity. We can respect that kind of dangerous adversary but it take time and forms a cold anger toward him.

    In answer to the question of how the two smaller dragons were able to break out.... In the episode where the warlock kidnapped the dragons, he tells Dany that the warlocks' magic became stronger around the dragons and that their magic was stronger around Dany. So in episode 6x9, as Dany and Drogon are flying directly over the cell holding the two smaller dragons, they likely "felt" her magical power, while also compelled to break through the walls!

    Yay! Battle of the Bastards! I loved this episode and that Sansa was able to get her revenge on Ramsey and feed him to his own dogs. Brutal! I can't believe you are so close to the end! I refuse to start watching HOD until you guys start reacting to it so i can enjoy that ride with you. :) I've had so much fun watching you guys react to this series. You guys have become my favorite couple to react to this series.
    I love the energy and Chemistry you both have together and i can't wait to see what you both will look like at your wedding. My husband and I own a wedding film company and i just love wedding films in general, and i can't wait to see yours. You will be an incredibly beautiful bride and hansom groom. I'm sure everyone has given you as much advice as you can take butt... go for an all inclusive venue where you just have to show up. You dont want to have to decorate a lot or clean up a lot. Make sure you have a seat for your vendors at a table close to your head table so they don't miss the action and make sure they eat when you do so they are ready for your toasts, dances and what not you'll have planned. Make sure your vendors get a meal. Build breaks in to your timeline. do the golden hour photos and if you have crazy weather use it to your advantage and get amazing photos and video from it. Don't be afraid to get wet or dirty. Embrace it. Your photos and video footage will be amazing! The most amazing wedding shots we have are from in the rain or in the snow or running through a puddle/in some type of water. I also made sure to have night shots and picked vendors that knew how to create good lighting for night time shots. I'm so excited for you guys.

    Epic battle but so many flaws too. At Hardhome, the giant had a tree trunk. Heck, remember the battle of the wall with the giant archer? Oh well! The massive mounds of dead bodies were created in no time, and I appreciated that they tried using historical battles from multiple time periods hundreds of years apart but it didn't make sense for the numbers or the houses who allowed that many deaths would lost allegiance mid battle.

    • @lucentaunisage
      @lucentaunisage 23 дні тому

      Jon and Sansa's disconnect felt so forced this season. He may be battle tested but he was no tactician and Sansa, while smart, withheld forces that cost thousands of northern lives. Had she played LF for the Vale, they would have the all the big northern houses pledged to them instead of just freefolk being the turn off. The Vale sneak attack does not work - an invading force from Moat Cailin would have been noticed by other northern lords as welll as the Boltons, Karstarks and Umbers. Scouts stopped existing seasons ago so that was how this sweeping save was remotely possible. Beautiful battle, great cinematic single shot - all the love! Character logic is crap.

      Please think this through. If they delay the battle until the knights of the Vale arrive, Ramsey never comes out to fight. He just stays behind the walls of Winterfell and wins by default since neither Jon nor the Vale are prepared for a very long siege. Ramsey only committed his troops to fight outside the walls because he believed he had an easy victory. One whiff of the knights coming and he stays in Winterfell. Jon fought like he was desperate and outnumbered because that's what he truly believed was the case. First rule of secret plans: keep them secret.

    • @jeh58
      @jeh58 5 місяців тому +1

      @@gunkulator1 I hate to rain or your parade but, 1- Sansa was begging Jon to wait so she was unsure Baelish (?) was going to show. 2- One way or the other she should have kept Jon informed of all her ideas, plan, or communications, Jon is her brother and family. 3- If Ramsey did choose to do a siege the only difference is were the battle was fought. The Starks had the ultimate siege weapon ( One-one). You don't keep your secret plans from your commander unless you don't trust you commander, and this isn't the case here.

    Stannis lost the core of who he was along the way. It cost him everything. I think it was both duty & ambition. Renly tho was not the rightful king. Stannis was. Stannis protected Renly during the siege of storms end and kept him alive, Renly paid all that back by trying to take the Throne that by right was Stannis’s as he was Roberts true heir. Jon's plot armor started in season 4. Only the most amazing of coincidence's saved him when he went kill Mance Rayder. Then with his coming back to life at the start of season 6 cemented it. He just can't die.

    Why Sansa didn’t tell Jon about The Nights Of The Vale? Instead of arguing with him about not having enough men, she should have said that maybe she could get Littlefinger and The Vale. What if Jon had died on the field of battle? I don’t care, that made me not a Sansa fan.

    • @gunkulator1

      She doesn't tell him so that Jon fights like a man hopelessly outnumbered, not delaying and giving ground like a man expecting reinforcements to arrive. Ramsey only gives up his superior position behind the walls of Winterfell because he thinks he has an easy victory. One whiff of deception and Ramsey marches his troops back to Winterfell where he wins by default. Jon is terrible at deception.

      @@gunkulator1 First of all, Jon is not terrible at deception, he’s not trying to deceive anyone, period. He’s a man of honor, like Ned. Also, that is not why Sansa didn’t tell Jon about Littlefinger and The Nights of the Vale. I just don’t think she wanted to.

      @@Victoria-kv9ozYes, Jon has all the honor and it nearly gets him killed again. He can't help himself and falls right into Ramsey's trap. Recall that Jon had a battle plan with Tormund and Davos but he tosses it aside recklessly for the sake of honor - coming close to killing every man in his army. Sansa knows this about Jon which is why she doesn't tell him her plan.

      @@Victoria-kv9oz Sansa grew up with Jon and just finished traveling all over the north with him to find allies. I think it's safe to say she knows Jon pretty well at this point. Also she knows that she was able to manipulate Jon into attacking Ramsey - a foolish endeavor by any account - by appealing to his sense of honor. Most of all, Sansa sees her father in Jon and so realizes that his sense of honor is also very likely to get him killed as it did with Ned.

    This epi really has me not liking Sansa..she just a Episode or so ago used getting Rickon back as a major reason to go and take back winterfell, and now what do we hear, Oh we will never get Rickon back. I don't care how much anyone may like Sansa, you can't defend her here bc she used her brothers captured to manipulate Jon to go attack winterfell and she in this epi doesn't seem to give much of a damn about Rickon now going by the throwing him away like trash attitude she has. I am surprised by how more ppl dont call her out about this.

      Rickon was dead no matter what. Ramsey was going to ensure this. His entire claim to the north means he can't allow any Stark to live except Sansa. The only thing left for Sansa to decide is how to deal with reality.

      @@shootingreal5945 Again, there are only two options, and in both options Rickon dies. This isn't the MCU where a superhero arrives in the nick of time to save the innocent. This is game of thrones. In season 1, Robb knowingly sends 2000 men to their deaths in order to win a battle for the sake of his father. That's pretty damn cold. Daenerys' wars claim the lives of thousands just to feed her glory. The faceless men kill for money. But somehow it's only Sansa that gets labeled evil.
