According to Miles Davis this is where Prince music originates. All the albums before had major obvious influences. Lovesexy was 100% Prince. The cover means rebirth. In Europe it was f controversial at all. You could see it in the underground huge posters promoting it. People never saw it as erotic. It was artistic and “naif”.
I love the Lovesexy album and the cover. I always thought that it was artistic and nothing more. Yokohama Ono had her breast exposed on a John Lennon album cover and he was nudes too. Yeah it was maybe 20 years earlier but Prince wasn't showing anything. But the album is great. 💜 That's what captured me with Prince. The way he dressed was saying don't focus on what I'm wearing but listen to this great music I'm giving you.
It's one of my faves by Prince .... and I have it ranked as one of the 40 best songs of all time by Any artist ... (yeah, I rank songs; it's an OCD thing) ..... 8-)
To me, one of Prince's poorest albums. After the high of "Sign O' the Times", this was a huge let down, and the song quality deteriorated significantly, and was far too self-indulgent. Only "Alphabet St" had any decent hit quality. I actually saw him in Charlotte, NC, promoting this album in Summer 1988, and the concert was good enough.
@@riccrion718not really. He never did that. He always took risks and commercially failed but continued doing what he felt it was right with the exception of diamonds where he played safe. Lovesexy was very far from what people were expecting but he didn’t care. The tour was his most espectacular tour ever. He said this was his gospel album. He was disappointed the general public didn’t understand it which that was something good to me 😂 At this point Prince already lost his huge popularity so it wasn’t a case of self indulgence, not making an effort as you say
Live variant, version, was very good with inprovision on creativity way, [ for yang musicians] who became star with taf albums. Mejby Prince don't have any inspiration or Musa cultural, spiritually time followers yourself in that position... I love that album, what can I say more about it except these. Ok. Peace.💜🎶♾️🌌💜🎶🦄🎶💜🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Hm .... well, I respectfully disagree ... I love this album. 'Alphabet St.' is one of my fave Prince songs .... a classic dance tune .... and 'Positivity' is one of the deepest and most interesting songs he ever recorded. 'Dance On' is a funked out percussion-gasm, and 'Anna Steisa' is a classically inspired masterpiece ... and on and on. Just my 2 cents' worth.
My fav album 💜
One of the best Prince's no-skip-songs-albums, very dense sonically. Positivity is the one.
The German import must have copy of the CD . Because it's tracked. Unless you are still buying And it's a must have also.
One of the best Albums EVER - the Concert was the wildest and coolest thing I've ever seen. 💜💜💜💜💜💜❤
Absolutely luv this album.
Positivity is 1 of my favourite tracks of all time
❤

My Top 10 🎤 🎙 🎤 🎙 🎤 🎙 🎤
Good album. I hold it in the same regard as Parade & Chaos & Disorder.
Top 5 Prince album for me
I always wondered why the letter G was missing at the end of "Alphabet Street!"🤣✌️💜
Thank you. Wonderful detail❤
Alphabet St. is my fave ever Prince tune.

Yeah he got too comfortable at the top of his mainstream popularity, he lost his hunger.
