- Living off grid in the countryside, our daily routine is full of trials and joys. Join us on our morning routine, letting all the animals out, swimming with ducklings in the stream and cooking a foraged meal from the garden. This week a lot has happened, we faced the grief and hardship of losing our sweet sheep but (spoiler) we also welcomed a new baby friend into the family.

We are sisters, Julia and Anastasia - caring for a regenerative farm on Bundjalung Country on the East Coast of Australia. We have a dream to build a self sustainable future and regenerate the land for generations to come. Join us as we learn to build, farm, garden, and care for the animals and land.
We live and farm on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation and these practices of regenerative living, agriculture and permaculture owe their roots and theories to Indigenous knowledge - they have been practiced by Indigenous People around the world for so many years. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live on, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

I just came across this video in YT while having breakfast half way around the World (USA) and I was hypnotized by the beauty of the whole thing... Your presence in the forest makes it almost a fairly tale.
You guys are amazing! Living off the grid is a demanding life, but it is also a beautiful, clean, and inspiring life. You enjoy a great deal of freedom and independence, and you've developed amazing skills to make your neck of the woods a true piece of heaven. I tip my hat to you.

Imagine a world without all the BS tech that went back to our human roots like this. We wouldn’t need religions or dreams of reaching nirvana or heaven. It would be all here. It is how we are meant to live. I wish everyone, friend or foe, could wake up to this and live the life these lucky girls have.

We don't need religions like christianity and politics (yes it's a religion), they need us like the old sheep needed a tick. These young ladies show me peace and give me hope that people will wake up with good sense one day and be a part of life that is Earth.
I prefer to believe the promise of a home in Heaven. This world cannot be compared to the new world spoken of in the Bible. People try create Heaven on Earth and fail. We weren't designed to live forever on the planet. We can be converted to a perfect eternal body once we die. All you have to do to achieve this is believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and follow His teaching. A true Christian life is a good life, not perfect, often very difficult, but the reward at the end is worth it all.

I don't think I EVER dreamed that any part of Australia could be as BEAUTIFUL as where you live! It makes me kind of wish that when my brother and I planned on emigrating there in our 20s, in the mid 1970s, that we had made THAT move. But when you get older you realize that you can't roll back time. THANK YOU girls for reminding me of what WE missed in OUR youth.
I lost my brother in Feb, this year. AND at his funeral, I spoke and mentioned our dreams of OZ and the plans we'd made. And people cried. Now, YOUR part of the world IS on my "bucket list"! ❤

I’m so inspired! I started to remember how I lived in the village in Fiji just like this and wanted to live like that forever. So happy this is a reality for you girls. So artistic. I wish that I treated everything in my life as gently as you treat your animals. I would bet that your parents were very gentle with you. Sometimes it almost makes me cry to see little beings so loved and fawned over. I have vowed to myself to be much more gentle and thoughtful to the people and animals in my life than I have been. Not the raccoons though! 🦝 I will just stay well clear of them! Haha

That is amazing!. You have had so much going on the farm right now. I can tell you that those chickens are not camera shy at all. You said it yourself life is circular. You are able to pay tribute to one your favorite fun and fruit loving sheep while introducing new life to the farm. Enjoy your time on earth. Also what a wonderful mural of some of the farm animals and nature around it (which is all in one). You both are very talented.

I always wonder why you guys never groomed the 🐑 sheeps with overgrown wool it's the perfect Hiding Place with Tieks🤔... just my opinion but I can't imagine the animals being comfortable with so much excess wool on them

Technology isn't what entraps us or enslaves us to other people or conglomerates/establishments. It is the services we subscribe to, the jobs we work where we are peons making profit for the executives and the debts we rack up spending money we haven't earned yet.
These lovely ladies are living in a contract-free world and that is so peaceful. You live by your own means. I did that for a few years and I was happy. No anxiety, no PTSD meds, no psychiatrists or hospital visits, no bill collectors, etc. My favorite part.... No phone calls. It was beautiful.

Hello Ladies, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Aubergine. We mourn the loss of family members but when we lose one of our pets (which are also our family member) the pain goes a little deeper. Maybe it’s because they can’t talk to us to let us know what’s wrong but on the other hand, look at what our Lord has given to you. A new goat and a beautiful one at that.
