- Alright y'all - after many inquiring questions about this, these are my thoughts for this year's Miss Universe. You can tell this is a STRONG competition with a great group of women so it was hard to pick just a few.
As you can see from the three updates I had to do while editing this over the course of 5 days, I had some difficulty with this lol.
To emphasize, these are predictions ONLY based on what you can see online of an individual. There are many layers to this competition with much of the judging happening behind the scenes both in daily activities and in the oh-so critical interview that can be next to impossible to predict.
Every woman competing there is already deserving of this title, but these are people who stood out to me based on their biographies and what can be seen through social media.
Who do you think will bring it home this year? (also what about their accomplishments / personality makes you like them?!)
lol guys, keep calm. these are both my opinions based on what I feel are necessary traits of a modern Miss Universe and these 'predictions' (more like girls I wanted to shout out) are based on (1) online presence and (2) official bios. These have changed dramatically now with formats and videos being released. Will definitely be updating a video for Friday

With you emphasizing about how girls are behaving offstage specially in their social media accounts, I would like to ask your opinion on the recent controversy involving Miss Cambodia with Miss USA, Australia and Colombia. What is your reflection on it and piece of advise with regards to situation like this.

I feel bad that, Cambodia is feeling that way. It LOOKS like (from her video) her feelings were Hurt. The Miss Universe Org. Should definitely be sensitive about that. On the other Side of the Coin, is Miss USA and Miss Colombia Aware of How their statements Affected Miss Cambodia and Miss Vietnam? I mean I have no idea what the whole conversation was all about. I just saw a snippet of that conversation. Was there More to that social media Video.?
It goes back to Being Responsible on what you post online. This is awful that someone is feeling Hurt.( just by looking at her verbal cues) But this could also be all a Misunderstanding. On another Note Miss Cambodia's Video Response to that whole issue, She is speaking in her own language of that of her Country. It would be Helpfull to know exactly what she is saying.

I totally Agree! Other than the fact that Catriona Gray is a complete package (Face,Advocacy,Intelligence,and Personality), She is a girl with essence and purpose in joining this pageant. That's why many people loves her! She's so relatable and I don't know, there is something I feel about her that catches my heart...She is the ONE!

This is my updated TOP 5: Miss Philippines(+1), Miss Puerto Rico (+2), Miss South Africa (-1), Miss Colombia (-2), Miss Venezuela (0). Ecuador and Canada is also trailing into the top 5. what I worry is Miss Colombia. I rooted for her on the day of arrival together with Philippines. but as days pass by in Thailand she seems to be outshined by other candidates. While Puerto Rico definitely surprises me. she's getting better everyday. but anyway, my TOP 5 were still the same candidates since day 1. they just switch ranks.

Mexico must be Miss Universe since she is a fresh, intelligent girl and one of the most beautiful.
Age should not be an impediment if not the opposite. Being spontaneous, and with a spirit of struggle and overcoming are great attributes that make women today, and if we add beauty is a "boom" to become the representative of universal beauty and Mexico, Andrea Toscano has it.

I LOVE Australia!!! I didn't really understand why she won Miss Australia at first, but then she arrived at Miss Universe and I understood. She is absolutely thriving and sparking at the competition! I feel like Australia has a lot going for her as well. She has that vibe that makes you want to be her best friend, from what I have gathered she seems to have a good story about her mental health and her ethnicity, and the cherry on top is that she can model. I also love Philippines, but I feel like she stands out because everyone is focusing on her. lol maybe I just have some rebellion to not go with the popular choice! Either way, there are so many incredible women competing this year, and whoever secures the title will do wonderful things!

I so want to support my country, but I can't. Colombia is a beautiful girl and she's very well prepared, but she made really bad comments about Spain's participation before she won the crown. And now she's made headlines with that video with USA and Australia. I just can't.
It is such a shame, these ladies are beautiful but they should not mock other women. Instead, we women need to support and appreciate every women's differences.
