I had the same reaction. I loved having my thoughts confirmed and tying it all together even showing us the past scenes where it was actually Alex. It made the most sense. There were other possibilities yeah, but they definitely would have been even more complicated to make it all work.

Some say it should have been Melissa or Wren etc. I am pretty sure that whoever it was, some of you would still be disappointed. It’s probably because of the fact that we waited for so long. For me, it makes so much sense. If we look look at PLL from Season 6B forward, the finale pretty much cleared all the stuff from then onwards. The things that weren’t answered were from before Season 6B. It’s because the writers piled up alot of mysteries. It would have been better to clear all the Bethany stuff up in the Charlotte’s Reveal. Still, some people are projecting their sadness from the end of PLL on the finale because they need to feel something and what’s easier than to hate? Plus, Troian did an amazing job!

The only thing I really didn't like is that everything felt rushed. I felt like they should have either made the episode three hours or into two episodes. Overall it was a good ending for me. Just my personal opinion though.

Troian is such an amazing actress. She doesn't deserve the hate she's getting for the disappointing finale. Although, it was terrible, it wasn't particularly her fault. She was just doing what she was hired to do, act.
Everyone before the finale: I hope AD is Spencer's twin , that ending would be so epic! Everyone after the finale: omg that ending sucked, AD should have been someone else Also, literally everyone else would have been either way to predictable or a plain boring choice. The whole post- time jump arc was setting this reveal up. It's the most consistent build up Marlene has done so far. I'm sure that the whole reason Mary was even created and the Jessica drama happened was so they they could give Spencer twin genetics. Me after reading twincer theories: they've got a point you know, there were off scenes and little inconsistencies that do make it seem like something's going on. It's actually a cool theory, but I doubt the writers would go there. Then again, would they go for Ezra is uber A?
