I’ve been enjoying mine.Hard to beat these little guys when filming. You can’t really tell how small they are compared to a 1/10 when on video and being smaller makes it great to pack and go and so much easier to find places to go crawl and film because of of size.
Yeah everything is more scale isn't it when they're smaller. I find it much easier to find obstacles and things to crawl, as the rigs are so much smaller. 👍 Glad you're enjoying yours too. Can't wait to get some upgrades and accessories on mine. 👍
Cool video. 👍 We've had our two TRX4-M's sine January and we are well impressed. BUT, have yet to do any serious running outdoors! We bought them really as indoor playthings, and they've been great fun! But I hope to get out with them and a camera very soon! Interesting, Traxxas have already changed the box - ours were packed differently. We've added some scale accessories - some roof rack boxes, bed rolls, tool box etc, plus some stickers and "proper" licence plates etc. But, they are very tiny, so the stickers were "fun" to make! They do seem to suffer being a tad light (of course we are comparing them to our very heavy TRX4s that have extra brass, bumpers, winches et!), but Traxxas do sell a range of metal parts, which will help I suspect. I like the stock wheels, so haven't been tempted by Traxxas' bead-lock wheels, which can include brass inners. We fitted the Traxxas light kits (a real bargain) and they are pretty fab - and Bright!. I've also tried the "Crawl" mode, which makes for slower running and, benefits the light kit as the brake lights work more logically. Great fun! As they have clear-ish windows I'd like an interior, but I haven't seen anything that would be suitable yet. Overall, we love them and, all being well, I may have a little vid on our channel soon....😄
Excellent, glad you're enjoying yours. Yeah there are lots of upgrades already. As they're 1" wheels you could use wheels off an scx24 etc as well, which is what I'll be doing, ad I'd already bought some new metal beadlocks for my scx24 I'll pinch for the TRX4M. An interior would have been the cherry on top, granted it would add more weight up top too, but would look so much better. 👍 I've got some brass parts on the way and I've ordered the Injora light kit and light bar, so will have more lights soon. I've already been mudding with my TRX4M and that video will be coming soon. 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting and I hope you keep enjoying yours too. 👍
@@SandJ-Adventures I'll probably do an update video on it once I've got a few parts fitted. 👍 Ah nice, a different style or same style as stock? That's one thing I noticed was the front bumper limits your approach angle.
@@DoURC If I get financial approval 😄it'll be a different style, similar to the one I have on my TRX4. It seems to be a straight swap, more or less, even with the LEDs to change over.
Wow it is actually very capable and it looks great, I can't wait to see what aesthetic modifications you do to it, and also if you put a winch on! Crazy how big the TRX4 is, this 1:18 scale really puts it into perspective. I thought about getting this when they were available for pre-order on Modelsport, but it was out of my price range, I got the FTX Mini Outback 3.0, which to me is almost like a mini version of this 🤣 Do you think they'll make a TRX6-M? Thanks for the great review 👍💯
Thanks very much mate 👍 Yeah it performed really well I thought, I think over the scx24, the oil filled shocks make a massive difference. Yeah the size difference between the 1/10 TRX4 is considerable isn't it. A TRX6M would be very cool. 👍 I was considering a FTX Mini too before to see what they're like. Yeah I can't wait to make it look more scale. I've ordered some brass upgrades already and will start making some accessories. It's a shame Traxxas didn't include a scale interior with the hardbody, like the scx24 Bronco, that would have been the finishing touch imo. 👍
@@DoURC Yh the oil shocks just make it more premium aswell. The FTX Mini is my first and only crawler (for now?) and I got it for about £70. Brass upgrades will look great, and make sure you put a bucket hanging off the back! An interior would be great maybe you can find one to put in?
It’s prettt great out the box but three things. The stock shocks kind of suck. It’s nice that they’re oil shocks but it would be nicer if they didn’t dump said oil onto the axle and floor. Second is the front of the frame rail. It’s so narrow for some reason and it really affects articulation. Third is bushings but they’re not all that bad
@@DoURC not straight out the box but about a week after purchase. I had only done some light indoor running. I’ve got some green slime to hopefully fix it.
@Maxwell Ah ok, thanks very much. I'll keep an eye on mine then. I've been mudding and trailing with it already and they're still OK so fingers crossed. 👍
They're great looking. Definitely look at the roc hobby van and fms fcx24 aswell. Think they would compete with this. Get some sticks, gaint lollipop stick and get a course made up lol
Yeah I've tried an fcx24 and they seem really good. Not tried the ROC Hobby van yet but I do love a van. 👍 I'd love to build an indoor course, but I just don't have the space unfortunately. 👍
@Do U RC I've no space either so I've built 5 different obstacles that I can put away in a storage box afterwards. Ramps see-saw rocks stuck to abit of board just. Passes a few hours easily
Sorry late again 😂I'm getting one of these soon can't wait. Ow has it's performance been? Did you have any issues with it? And is it actually waterproof? Thank you again for your work and awesome videos.
Yeah it's a decent rig and yeah definitely waterproof. If you check out my Mini Crawlers playlist I've got comparison videos and upgrade videos. It definitely needs the low range gears or a motor swap, as out the box the slow speed control isn't the best. 👍
@DoURC hello, I've just got my tan trx4m defender looks awesome although I noticed while driving it sags on the right hand side rear looking from behind? Is this normal?
@Anglian-Rc Yeah mine does the same. They do include spring spacers which you could add to increase the preload on the spring, or just change the shocks. 👍
That's fair enough, I love running my 1/10 scale Defender. 👍 I do enjoy the challenge of the smaller scale rigs too, and this TRX4M seems a great starting platform. 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
@@DoURC Yeah the challenge for me is as simple as pulling out those teensy tiny body pins on my little 1/28 WLtoys Hoonitruck lookalike RC imagine changing other parts. 1/10 is small enough already I'm getting old but I don't want anything bigger either not the SCX6 too big. 😁
@Flat-Out Juan Ah ok, I get ya. 👍They do definitely get smaller. I know what you mean on the tiny pins too, I find them annoying on my son's WLToys 24scale. 👍

Where did you buy all the decoration for your trx4 in the back?
Things like sand ladders, window covers etc from Aliexpress, most the roof accessories like bed rolls, boxes etc I made. 👍
