Easy tip for color, just pick a fabric that you like the colors. Fabrics are designed by professionals. Pick one as your dominant and use the other colors in the fabric for accents/accessories. You’re not using the fabric other than to get color ideas.
Hello, I love your advice, I understand hiding exposed wires on a TV that is hung on the wall, however, no one ever speak about hiding the cable box or internet accessories. I would appreciate your help.
I agree with everything, I also have one of the dressers you have in suggestion #2 and I love it. I know this is an interior design channel, but your skin is beautiful. I know whatever you post is always fresh and relatable, thank you so much 😊!
I have a question: Should you just use one large art piece? If you use more on opposite sides of the walls do they need to go together? That's what I'm confused about.
I don’t know of any rentals here in my city that would allow tenants to paint their walls or change curtains/blinds. When I go into renting an apartment again, I might use some cling wall tiles, etc to add to the ugly boring builder beige walls and ugly textured ceilings. Love your ideas and tips! 😊❤️🇨🇦
There’s peel and stick wall paper (not like our grandmas lol) that u could also use for your walls/cupboards/countertops and u can remove your outlets/knobs & blinds you just have to put everything back the way u found it when you first moved in.
Often times rental place will let you paint if you show them the color you are going to use and ask and get written permission from the landlord. When they allow this they will usually ask you to paint it back to their original color when you move out.
Hahaha I was cracking up laughing throughout this b/c I’m guilty of Violating so many of these 😂😂😂 I’m going to get it together. Thank you for what you do and keep up the great work! You look beautiful too btw! ✨

I love this! And every single thing you mentioned is true! It took me sooo long to get this 😩 My apartment was a hot mess in my 20’s, but now, that I’ve learned these basics, FINALLY, my home looks way more sleek & modern than it actually is!
Thank you for the video, great insight. I know the original packaging of products in the store were designed to catch your eye. This is great for retail, but the visual noise in your home is off putting when you group multiple items together. I can’t agree with you more about removing original packaging! 🥰
I have gone through phases of removing products from original packaging and putting them into cute and matching containers. My problem is that I miss out on referring to directions (especially with foods) and expiration dates and slowly have reverted back to busy, mismatched packaging. I appreciate your point about how packaging is designed to catch your eye, which becomes cluttered looking in your home - I just need to find a balance on saving info I may actually need from the packaging.
I live in the Midwest; I love your tips and design hacks. I never put much thought into designing a space and to not make it look cheap. My mindset is more on an academic level. I don’t put my decorative pillows on my sofas because people don’t know how to treat them. They just flop their big behinds on them like they’re seat cushions. It’s so aggravating.🤬

I did something interesting with my 32-inch TV that some people might find interesting. I have smallish condo built in 1975 and I've always liked mid-century modern decor and did my living/dining area in that style. So what did I do with that black rectangle of a TV? I had Home Depot cut several pieces of wood to my specifications, bought some peg legs on the internet, built an old-style (oldish-style) TV console (but only 12 inches deep), stained it, and put the screen INSIDE the console. Sure, the TV is a little lower than I would like, but it is pretty consistent with the look and feel of a mid-century modern livingroom. Warm colors, wood tones, some metals, and CLEAN lines makes for a peaceful but cozy place (if that's what you like). Also, I haven't seen the first video yet (will watch it in a minute) but I would advise not going with wimpy cheap lamps. Lamps can be nice art and statement pieces - and when they are turned on, they become focal points. Nice hotels don't have cheap $20 stick lamps for a reason.
I reference that nene scene daily "what is diz hunnyyyy?" Anywho, I agree with everything! BUT I am having a tough time hiding the wires in my bedroom! I have an echo, a lamp, and a diffuser. I cant find anything to hide the wires and still allow function, do you have any ideas?

Agreed. We have 55 and 75" tvs that are hung. Some wall mounted, some ceiling mounted. Very secure. Don't have to worry about them being bumped into or anything and they are securely bolted into the studs.
@@levelupgoddess9289 Ask the landlord of its ok to mount (and not hurt your security deposit), then all of they could do it for you or if they are on with you doing it. Offer the option of using 2 by 4 to bolt to the wall/ studs, then put the mount to it. If not, we've had a 65" at a point that we had mounted on a stand with shelves for things like game systems.

(My home decor Theme is mostly Amazon!) you referring to things like throw-pillows or maybe candleholders? Picture frames? I have heard people say not to put any kind of words, like the little signs that have two lines in two different fonts. I love the little signs! Please be specific and help me not to live in a cheap-looking house! 😊
@@TheNanabanana127Well, call me cheap because I use Amazon almost daily (while feeling extreme guilt for doing so...) and I freakin LOVE Ross!🥳
YES I love a dresser as “other” furniture. I don’t have a linen closet so right now I’m on the hunt for a “dresser on dresser” style or even a chest of drawers in my hall is a home for linens. I’m renting right now and I am LOVING all these peel and stick options for EVERYTHING from the ceiling to the floors!!!
Sorry hit the wing button. My question was on the decorative pillows. You're suggestion was down pillows. I'm allergic to bird feathers of all kinds. What alternative do you suggests to use if I'm unable to use your suggestion?
Yall are talking about 55 inch TVs on the wall...I have had an 86 inch on the wall for 3 years *installed with the correct mount* and have had no problems at all. What did I miss?
Easy tip for color, just pick a fabric that you like the colors. Fabrics are designed by professionals. Pick one as your dominant and use the other colors in the fabric for accents/accessories. You’re not using the fabric other than to get color ideas.
Hello, I love your advice, I understand hiding exposed wires on a TV that is hung on the wall, however, no one ever speak about hiding the cable box or internet accessories. I would appreciate your help.
All of my things are actually hidden behind the tv..I was amazed at how the installer did it!! Whole new level of a sleek and clean look!!
She's blowing smoke 🌬 lease agreements prohibit majority of these things
There’s peel and stick wall paper (not like our grandmas lol) that u could also use for your walls/cupboards/countertops and u can remove your outlets/knobs & blinds you just have to put everything back the way u found it when you first moved in.
Often times rental place will let you paint if you show them the color you are going to use and ask and get written permission from the landlord. When they allow this they will usually ask you to paint it back to their original color when you move out.
My mom would put fancy contact paper in front of the clear drawers to conceal what’s in the drawer. Love your channel.
That's a very smart idea and pretty I'm sure.
Hahaha I was cracking up laughing throughout this b/c I’m guilty of Violating so many of these 😂😂😂 I’m going to get it together. Thank you for what you do and keep up the great work! You look beautiful too btw! ✨
You’re not alone 😂
Thank you for your helpful advices.
But I just can't get away from my old fashion vertical blinds. I once had a burglary committed in my home and since then, I don't like strangers being able to look into my home.
2in faux wood blinds are affordable and look nice and more modern than vertical but still give you privacy
I'm from the UK and I actually love vertical blinds 🤷♀️ I've just moved and paid out a lot of money for vertical blinds in all my windows
I love this! And every single thing you mentioned is true! It took me sooo long to get this 😩 My apartment was a hot mess in my 20’s, but now, that I’ve learned these basics, FINALLY, my home looks way more sleek & modern than it actually is!
Great info. I hung an 86”tv at a clients house and 3 years later it’s perfect. Perfectly leveled and not pulling away from the wall
Thank you for the video, great insight. I know the original packaging of products in the store were designed to catch your eye. This is great for retail, but the visual noise in your home is off putting when you group multiple items together. I can’t agree with you more about removing original packaging! 🥰
Except not safe for things like the Tide pods. Safety issue. Looks like Candy to children & it is deadly if ingested
You for sure don’t look cheap. Very beautiful and the skin is flawless.
I don't agree with taking the labels from packaging. As long as they're neatly displayed and organized.
You can cut any instruction label off and tape it to the bottom of the new container
I live in the Midwest; I love your tips and design hacks. I never put much thought into designing a space and to not make it look cheap. My mindset is more on an academic level. I mean I keep my space clean but, I don’t put much thought into it. I was told in order to be great at something you should focus on one thing at a time. I’m going to follow you more often to get more tips. Thanks again!❤️❤️
I don’t put my decorative pillows on my sofas because people don’t know how to treat them. They just flop their big behinds on them like they’re seat cushions. It’s so aggravating.🤬
The fact that they just plop down aggressively on furniture period is rude! People are very disrespectful to your home including the one's that live there! 🤬😤😤
@@kimberlynotkim2682 that last part.💯
So True, I could just scream sometimes when someone sits on my beautiful pillows that I spend a pretty penny on!!!
I tell people where to sit now and it's a wooden table that I can clean after because I've seen people laying pancakes on their couch lol,and I have a no shoes policy...I'm a mess lol.
Yup... I can only have pleather pillows bc I have 5 kid's (3 human 2 dog's)
Hello, thank you for all of you decorating ideas. If vertical blind are considered dated what would you suggest for window treatments. Thanks
Love this. These are all my pet peeves and that wall behind you is amazing.
thanx! helpful tips for renting a space on a budget,it doesnt seem too overwhelming and i like that you mix high end looking things with thecheaper looking.
I am right there with you on renting and not decorating. You are on point. I use the feather pillows with the nice colors with zippers. I just changed out covers last night! Save money on purchasing new pillows.
I spray-painted my plastic storage drawers and added things to it to make it look like an accent piece! Great tips Queen!
Ohh I wanna see
New subscriber. OMG was looking or browsing on UA-cam for easy way to hang a tv without making a giant project out of it. So I came across your video. How to hide tv wires and mount a tv with no drill. And to be honest I did not have faith in you I’m ashamed of why. Because your a pretty woman I’m like right. Probably something really stupid. Boy oh boy was I TOTALLY WRONG. You had the best video by far very simple and you explained yourself in a way that everyone can understand. So the age old lesson just got reinforced tenfold. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Especially a beautiful book. Thank you very much for that great video. And have happy and blessed holidays. 😀😀😀
Hello, I’m obsessed with your black and gold background, I just painted my wall black and I wanted ideas on how to decorate it . Any tips sometimes similar to yours
Thank you so much. I am definitely not a decorator, and I'm guilty of some of these..but I'm with you on all of them, hate plastic totes (except for in the closet), and absolutely hate wires or cables visible. I need these videos!!! So keep em coming! Thank you again.
Thanks Tina!
I love, love, love what you do! I found you when I was putting up my vinyl privacy. Thank you for that video. I did put the plastic drawers against a very long wall. BUT, I painted them in coordinating colors. It worked. 😁
Do u do virtual consultations…I don’t have the eye and I’m a renter and would love to have a glam home but don’t how to start even after watching videos lol…. I need good storage ideas …I prolly need to declutter too
I love how you are unapologetically yourself. You come across kind and fun! All success to you:)
Removing labels from toiletries in bathroom is a must. I do it all the time I get amber glass bottles and add label - uk
My mother passed away Oct 2020. She was in a condo for 25 yrs. Blue carpet, yellow walls..to prep for sale we painted all white, graphite color carpet changed ALL electrical plates. It looked amazing!! Love your tips!

I thank you for your advice. I'm in the process of decorating my loft that is just enough room for me. Yes I'm renting but I'm going to make it feel like my future home. Everything you said hit home for me thank you again.
I LOVE lofts! They are so versatile!
I love this. I pretty much have done all of these things you are talking about. That why everyone is amazed when they come to my home. Everyone I know wants me to decorate their home. You gave me 1 extra advance that I didn't know: food in cabinet. That is so great. ❤️
Your TV that's hanging at the end of the bed is hanging past where the wall ends. While I agree w some of your points, some of the options you showed look cheap. But every one has their own taste, & since they have to live there, then they should do what makes them happy. Cheers to everyone
From Ky. Love these ideas!! Have been looking for ways to upgrade my home and make it more modern ❤ Thanks for posting.
West Elm has great pillow inserts and pillow covers. High Fashion Home has great pillows as well. Great ideas, but interior design is subjective. Everything is not for everybody.
Please my 75 and 65in TVs have been hung for the past 5yrs. I love your advice keep them coming
I love this. ❤ if I didn't have little ones running around, I'da had more quality furniture (Glass, Crystal, Mirror, marble, Cherry Wood, All white bathroom 🥰 etc). But soon, soon 😌
Thanks, I hate homes/spaces that look cheap and a mess when it’s not to hard to change up something or throw it out. Thanks!!
Love these tips! Love the wall behind you as well!! Tutorial??
I’m getting my first apartment in 2 months after living with roommates and family my whole life. I’m so excited to decorate my new place and your channel has inspired me so much.
How do you feel about brass or chrome outlet covers? Thinking of doing a duller brass throughout my house but scared it might look TOO gawdy lol
Thanks for the tide advice. I will start taking them out now. Keep it coming honie...
When ppl put cereal plastic plates and grocery bags on top on their fridge lol I hate it!
I am shocked at how much of your recommendations are already in my home. Thanks for making me feel sooper cool.
On point! I don't even like the plastic drawers in my closet. Put a dresser/ drawers in there looks custom!

Oh my blank walls!! 😭😭 Nice tips! I'm keeping them in mind as I'm doing a reno now. Im going to look for your part 1! Thanks for sharing 💕
I have a 75 and a 65 that I mounted on the wall. You have to make sure the screws are in the studs. That’s what a stud finder is for. These tv’s are not heavy now like when they first came out.
oooh totally unaware that NOT hanging your television looks cheap. I thought I was making progress when I decided to even purchase a tv for my common area lol Btw, how do you hide those cable wires that are wrapped around an entire room?
You coulf try cable trunking
They’ll put a metal casing over them
I came across your channel because I was looking for a way to hide our wall mounted tv cord. Now I’m obsessed!!!
Amazing content!!!! I’ve learned so much!
I love these videos! Right now is not the best time to buy! Hell no. In my town, a 3 bedroom home is almost half a million in the hood! The devil is a bald headed liar. I will make my townhome as gorgeous as possible while saving. Thanks for the great ideas.

Same.. I'm from Houston (third ward which is the hood) and has went through gentrification. Lots of homes has been renovated or new builds going up & they are damn near half a million

I love your videos, I am a renter and Im totally OCD about changing my decor every season. Love ya!!!
I love all your videos Wayna! Thank you for all of your wonderful tips.. I do want to say that those who say you can't hang a 55 inch on the bracket you use are incorrect. I have a 55 inch in my bedroom and it has been hanging for well over a year now with no issue.
I'm new to your part 2 video on "This makes your home
look cheap" (10 reasons). Thanks for your insight.
I'm guilty of the "blank" walls😯. I'll be sure to look out for your videos.
Again, thanks for sharing
So the television looks tacky/cheap the way you hung in the corner. It's clearly too big hanging off the side like that.
I noticed that too; I agree.
I happen to stumble across this vid looking for another video, but I absolutely love your tips 😂 I’m not really guilty of too many of them, but I definitely took notes. This vid was def needed for a lot of ppl who don’t care to admit it 🤣 thanks for your contribution to making homes and spaces more fabulous.
100% agree with alllll of this. Happy holidays diva!
Same to you sis!
The plastic drawers is so true! Just bought my first house in January and I refurbished my wood bedroom set and added new knobs. I’ve been shaking my head at my plastic bin! Gotta go! Btw, nice video!
Thank you honeybun for the great tips. I thought I would die laughing about the plastic containers. I have one in my kitchen that I'm waiting to find the right piece to replace it. My husband HATES IT 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Will you give tips for Organization for elderly, kids and upgrading outside the home such as front porch or back porch, patio please thanks. Love your ideas and you’re so modest about about your views keep it up
I liked this video! Simple and straight to the point. Lol as you were talking, I started looking around my apartment like, “mm yea, she’s right!” 🤣🤣
Can you share the source of that pattern on the wall behind you? Thank you in advance. ☺️
I love the dresser idea. I've been looking for a dining buffet but have not found many I like within the budget I'm willing to spend. I didn't think of dressers. My struggle are the blinds. I have a lot of them
I'm a big fan of the dressers in the living room. That's an awesome look.
We hung both of our 55” and 65” TVs. Just make sure to get good quality hanging brackets and when installing them you install them correctly.
Why shouldn’t you hang a 55” TV? I have a 65” and an 80”, both hung. And why do people like to karate chop their pillows? I HATE that! 🙄😒
Well the karate chop helps me to relieve stress, but I’m not sure 🤔 about others. 🤣

I purchased a pool noodle spray painted it black, slit it and put my wires through.
Love the Tips but I love vertical blinds on shades or horizontal. That’s just my opinion
I think I am officially old. I remember when roller shades went *out* of fashion. And now I am having an existential crisis because my brain is still in 1990 and thinks roller shades are bad.
Thanks for all the tips! I'm going to cry in a corner now.
I like vertical blinds. 😂
They are bad😂😂
Really easy is tension rod curtains. They just fit in window without having to put up rods. Not fancy but it works!
Hey Wayna I am a 32 year old country gal watching you from Oklahoma. I have a very modern and glam style tho. And it's very hard to find the look Im going for in this town! The 0lace has great potential but I haven't a decorating bone in my body. There is AN ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT of wood paneling. ANY advice would do!
Love these tips! And you can definitely mount larger TV’s (as I look at my 65” with hidden wires), just need to have the appropriate brackets.
Agreed. We have 55 and 75" tvs that are hung. Some wall mounted, some ceiling mounted. Very secure. Don't have to worry about them being bumped into or anything and they are securely bolted into the studs.
Absolutely!! Ours are all 75inch and wall mounted. Will be getting a bigger one soon for the media room and it will also be mounted 😃🥰
Exactly, all of my TVs are mounted all of them are 55in+
How does that work when u are in a rental? I want to do that but dont want to put nail in the walls.
Georgia: we have our 75 inch TV wall mounted on a swivel wall mount. Love it. Never have had any problems for five years now. Great video 🎉
I agree with every point in both videos. Specifically with the sticker decor on the wall, it leaves residue and appears that you don’t value the space.
