I leave my tree and nativity scene up until January 6th for the Epiphany/3 Kings' Day. All of my extended family does too. Then I put it all away and take a little breather from decorating. I clean and declutter if I can. I am quite the packrat! Then I put a few little cutesy things out for Valentine's Day. Happy Healthy Holidays everyone 😊
Years ago, I would send out 40 Christmas cards. I remember how stressed and tired it made me. These last few years, my list has gotten a bit shorter I'm happy to say. This year I plan on sending only a small amt and will be giving friends and family a few calls to say hello. Striving for a Calm & Peaceful Christmas with time for reflection on the real meaning of Christmas will be the BLESSING that I KNOW God wants me to have !!! Merry Christmas to you & yours !!!!!
Me too! I have family members who never send Christmas cards yet I find it so difficult to follow their lead. I think this year I’ll do my best to wish them Merry Christmas via technology. If I’m ok not getting a card from them, think they’ll be ok not receiving a card from me. 🎄
Thanks for the great advice! Love the poem🙏🏻. I have started my Christmas season early, shopping and baking have already started. I’m from Ontario, Canada, so we have had our Thanksgiving. Just trying to simplify things as I go this year so I can relax and enjoy our Christmas, we host Christmas every year…have two boys still at home…aging parents…on and on, I just need to remember the reason for the season 🙏🏻💕.
That’s great that you’re getting an early start so you can enjoy a slow peaceful holiday! It’s nice that Canada’ Thanksgiving is earlier to spread things out!
I have given up putting out all of the decorations. I put the tree up on November 10 because I like to enjoy it for a longer time. This year I will cover it to keep the dust off and leave it up in the family room. I have given away some of the decorations. I will be having a meeting with the family about gifts. The only thing that the adult children need is money .The grandchildren will get gift cards. That takes a lot of pressure off. I no longer do a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings at Christmas. I do it at Thanksgiving in October, and for Christmas we have only appetizers, including my Mom's tourtiere recipe, and desserts. So much easier at Christmas. It's supposed to be about getting together, celebrating the birth of Jesus, and enjoying the day, not stressing, over-eating, and being exhausted.
I love sending Christmas cards. However, they are fewer. I send to the older family and friends that don't do social media - then I do send to others I don't see often enough
I am a lot older more than 50. But I like simple. Go to Mass everyday prior to Christmas. Gives you peace. Forgoing the Christmas regulars at Church. I make a very simple Christmas no presents. We have abundance every day. No Christmas cards. Just simple in the moment things. Some Christmas markets. Its all simple minimal and thanking 🙏 our Christs birth. 💒
I’m 58 and we go all out for Christmas. It’s my holiday time. I was born Christmas Eve and got a Christmas name. I love to entertain and decorate. My husband loves it all too and does much of the decorating. During 2020, we still had many friends and family over. Nobody got sick, nobody died. We enjoyed Christmas.
I just found your channel with this video, but you are echoing some changes I’ve already made & suggesting some new ones I’m going to think about! Thank you.
My birthday is late January, so I’ve held off many times until then to take down decor. And when I was young, I would beg my mom to leave the Christmas tree up until my birthday. Not sure that ever happened! 😂 Your tree is beautiful - I love the setting of your video!! 🎄
I have collected snowmen. So, after Christmas we would take down the tree and Santa things but kept snowmen up till right before Valentine’s Day. My youngest son has a Jan birthday
I broke my big toe in two places, 8 weeks ago. The pain is horrible and I don't feel like doing a whole lot of anything. I love Christmas so very much but this year it just feel like it's gonna happen.
What would you add to the list?

I used to do that as well until a few years ago. 😀 Have a happy healthy holiday!
You have a nice easy going manner. I feel like I’m chatting with a friend watching your videos!
The quote is one I’ve loved for years. Mine is attributed to Michael Podesta. Appreciate the reminder.

Yes! Calm and Peaceful Christmas sounds wonderful!
We email each other around Christmas. Any way to keep connection without so much work is good!
Great advice! 🎄

Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
I decorated on election day, I think it's too much work for a month. I love decorating and sending cards. ☺️❤
I agree- it’s too much work for one month! Enjoy your festive home! 🌲

@@jennywaterswellness thank you!
I just quit Christmas altogether years ago. I don't miss it.
Midlife is time to let go of things that aren’t serving us. May blessings find you as the year wraps up!
That’s really sad.
Come back its the most wondeful time of the year.
