I never understood why a 71-73 mustang is still considered a first generation. It basically shares nothing in common with a 65-66.

@@kiprandom7208no, mustang was never on the torino platform but in 1974 it would be on the pinto platform

It was still on the Falcon Platform, which is why it is still considered first gen, but it was the 4th restyle.

I am pretty sure they were only sold here as the Mercury, but I would be surprised if some were imported into private hands.

It wasn't so much that he was able to, but he was loosing so much money, he had to, and it kept climbing.
