Thank you so much for this video! I had always heard from the Scholars about how Mu'tazila was a Gumrah firqah with their views going opposite to those of orthodox Islam. But then comes Faisal Warraich's series "Golden Age of Islam". I was expecting to learn many things from that. But there I get things like how Mu'tazila were so free-thinkers, rationals and knowledge-promoters, giving rise to Islam due to these characteristics, whereas traditional scholars like Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal (R.A.) were the baddies of that time as they sticked to the traditional methods and focused more on things like the compilation of ahadees and narration verification, etc. Thanks for actual view on the Mu'tazila ideology. You're absolutely right, if Mu'tazila were in charge today, the seculars would hate these "free-thinkers" even more than the orthodox scholars.
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته One should make himself familiar with the field by reading beginner works and taking it slowly from there. For example with Kalaam, one starts with Aqeedah Ad Tahawiya, then he moves to Kharida Al Bahiya, then to the Sanusi creed then Jawhara Al Tawheed, then to Al Iqtisad and so on.
Maybe mutazila were somehow orthodox but extremist would be a wrong word. Not considering the major sinners as Muslims was good thing and according to the book. Quran says in 4:93 And whoever kills a believer intentionally then his recompense (is) Hell, abiding forever in it and will fall the wrath (of) Allah on him and He (will) curse him and He has prepared for him a punishment great. That’s why so many killings in our society and they consider themselves as Muslims.
How are they evil for jailing & lashing scholars who say Quran is created? Doesn’t Ibn hanbal say who ever says the Quran is uncreated is a kafir, and those who say neither is a kafir also? And the penalty for apostasy is you know what. So I’m pretty sure anyone would rather be jailed than ******..
The Mutazila were the ones who said that the Quran is created, and then they prosecuted everyone who disagreed with them. One of the people they prosecuted was Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.
@@TheGhazaalian I meant that Ahmad Ibn hanbal says whoever say it’s created then he is a kafir. And the mutazila jailed & lashed those who say it’s created. So it’s better to live in a mutazili government because they only lashed & jailed people. Meanwhile Ahmad Ibn hanbal says whoever says it’s created is a kafir. And the penalty for apostasy is known. Therefore people would still rather live in a mutazili state because they only jailed & lashed those who disagreed with them rather than takfir which is what Ahmad Ibn hanbal did
Bro you have it backwards, the mutazila were the ones who said that the Quran is created not the scholars they lashed and imprisoned. The scholars that they lashed and tortured were the ones who said that the Quran is uncreated, like Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Imam Buwayti etc

Why is the problem of Quran being created or not so important?
Then it will have implications like Quran is not eternal , therefore its guidance or rulings may have a temporary life as opposed to being eternal
@@baybars3138
Actually rulings do have temporary life that is say that they are not logical necessities.
