    Had to watch this with the sound off because the kids were watching The Voice.
    So I missed a lot of the details but I was struck by the loving shots of the wheels with the Bazillion lock nuts. A bit like a boy racers ride to impress the girls.
    If I were a Grunt in the field and I had to change a wheel I'd be saying "FFS if only it were held on by a clip you could flick with your thumb". So, common ground in between maybe.

    To Thales. I'm just wondering does the Hawakei and the Bushmaster come with Euro 6 complaint engines as the Australian mandate overlaps the production of these vehicles and is Thales trying to get additional orders of Bushmaster form the Australian Government along with additional governments? Being Euro 6 complaint may give you the advantage.

    You have to be able to close those doors with one hand, inside there are people with vests, chargers and weapons, they need space, the driving position has to be super simple, to drive with one finger if necessary, quick and easy entrances and exits.

  • @wattlebough

    From an occupant protection point of view, and the CROWS remote .50 cal system aside, is there a provision for fitting a light ballistic protected slewing turret for the roof mounted machine gun, to protect any gunner using the manual gun ring mount, like those fitted to the up armoured HMMWV in US Army service? I'd hate to see our roof gunners vulnerable while returning fire with the vehicle mounted gun. It would kind of defeat the purpose of having all that protection if the defensive weapon was left unprotected. Kind regards.

    problem: Hawkei does NOT have anywhere for a spare wheel in it's design (required on australian roads) - Thales' solution: tow a trailer carrying the spare wheel EVERYWHERE... I dont understand how subs got canned when this gets through.

    • @dracarysblackfyre6030
      @dracarysblackfyre6030 2 роки тому +1

      Common misconception, there is absolutely no legislation mandating a vehicle carry a spare tyre, either C Class or heavy Vehicle. I did a bunch of research on the topic and ended up empty handed. Defence usually mandates vehicles carry a spare tyre as they are part of the CES of the vehicle, however as the Hawkei does not come with a spare tyre this is not the case.
      If this seeminly doesn't make sense, I'd also like you to consider the fact that between the tyres all being run flats and there being an onboard tyre inflation system, the Hawkei is capable of safely maintaining speeds of up to 80km/h with a 2cm gash in one tyre.
      Silly oversight, but not nearly as crippling as it would first seem. Still, they are experimenting with vehicle mounted spare tyres as it should have been a capability early on

    • @forestR1
      @forestR1 2 роки тому

      @@dracarysblackfyre6030 interesting. So why are required to take trailers on public roads? I agree that with CTIS we shouldn't need a spare 99% of the time

    • @dracarysblackfyre6030
      @dracarysblackfyre6030 2 роки тому +1

      @@forestR1 They aren't. It may be dictated in Standing Orders, but there is no legal requirement, civilian or under the DRTM's to carry the trailer or the spare tyre. there is a RODUM to have access to a spare on difficult terrain, but again, the spare does not need to be with the vehicle, simply carried by another vehicle that is accessible

    • @nathanb8721
      @nathanb8721 2 роки тому

      Spare is not required for a roadworthy in any state in Australia the Hawkei also has run flats and a tyre inflator i'm sure if it becomes a problem they will design a rear wheel swing carrier for it at some point

Should be ok against the old RPK-7.

      malcolm caden they didn’t mention this in the video so I assumed they it wasn’t... that’s sort of important... I know the entire USA power grid is unprotected from EMP attacks and that this is on purpose because the Rothschild family owns most if not all of the utilities in the US... They own PG&E in California which has been suspiciously cutting power BEFORE wild fires as if they somehow know the fires are coming a week in advance..... this is of course because THEY DO.... they use weather modification and directed energy weapons to start these insane unexplainable fires and the ultimate goal is to roast all of northern Cali as well as all the areas where they plan to lay the future magnetic railway system. So far they’re doing a wonderful job of it and hardly anyone sees how blatantly obvious it is that these fires are being set and amplified by unnatural means.

      Unlike the Russian Military, the ADF understands combined arms, and has already utilized many counter-missile and electronic warfare systems. Whilst they are far from impervious, we have a better ability to defend ourselves than the disaster that is the Russian army

      I was in a motorcycle accident on a country dirt road in between to rural cities, ambulance arrived within 20mins of being called, equipment was up to date and well maintained. Maybe there have been issues with funding for hospital, but I'd imagine it is more of an issue at state level. As for staff shortages, that is due to toxic work environments and education not keeping up with demand

    • @brandstyle3639

      Dracarys Blackfyre this the reasons ambulance are in stand by outside emergency to pick up only people who have road accident
      Neglect the one at home who gave heart attack
      I’m not insulting you I’m just talk in general few people in Victoria QLD have died at home waiting 2 hours for ambulance

      @@brandstyle3639 Thanks for highlighting this for me, I was unaware of the cases. Whilst it seems that the average wait time is actually quite low (10.5mins for QLD) there have been some outliers where patients have had to wait up to 10 hours and there have indeed been deaths whilst waiting for hospital beds.
      It may be that those who have had to wait are in extremely rural areas, and may have had issues contacting the right emergency services, but it is certainly a severe issue. Coming up to election time it's another thing for me to consider, so thanks!
