I'm from Portugal and here, to mic the priest, is something unthinkable. What i usually do is mic the groom and then point the recorder to the sound column
Very insightful man!! The sound systems at churches I usually can never hook up to. I just ask of they can record it. I mic up the groom and put a zoom on the podium. Backyard weddings will always be my favorite 😀
Great question! There so many incredible Hybrid cameras on the market right now and depends on a few factors: Budget & Reliability If you have already invested in the Canon glass, I would recommend staying in that ecosystem. The Canon R5C is a solid choice, reliable video features and high res photo solution. It is an RF mount so you will need an adapter if you want to use EF lenses or if your budget allows you to invest into the RF arena that is a great option as well. Sony obviously has more affordable options that do compete with the Canon lineup quite aggressively. Sony A7iii Sony A7IV Sony A7Siii (More video specific) all of these cameras would require adapters if you are using EF lenses or if you plan on selling and investing, you can't go wrong with any of these options.
Do you have any tips on how to light low-light ceremonies? I can only seem to find information/guides for lighting receptions but not ceremonies. I have a bride that is having her ceremony in the space as the reception, and she does not want to turn on the house lights even just for the ceremony portion. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Got one coming up, went to scout the church and it's extremely dark, there's dark wood everywhere, old Catholic church. Tons of stained glass and it's surrounded by trees on all sides. Just going to film at 20mm from the balcony and hope for the best.
Hey little late, but what would suggest for a two cam set up. I know 70-200 but for the safety shot, do you just go with your widest lens and roam with the 70-200?
When shooting with two people, do you use an IFB or cell phone headset to communicate shots and getting photographers out of frame or do you solely rely on practicing and routine?
Hey! Thank you so much for this! Definitely helpful! In regards to EasyFlicks, have you experienced the website struggle to load? I am currently trying to see more on their website and it is struggling to switch from page to page. Have you experienced this on client deliveries?
