Excellent footage. You have brought the entire Corbett landscape in front of us. Beautiful forest rest houses, land where Jim roamed and filmed, Ram Ganga, birds.....Thanks a ton
Thanks for your encouraging comment. It was Jim's books that made me as a child want to visit amazing India, now at 76 I wonder if I will ever get back. Thanks again.
This is the best video on Corbett National Park that I've seen so far. I regularly search for documentaries about Corbett, but nothing comes close to this one. You've beautifully articulated your love for Corbett through this piece of art. On a side note, I'm visiting Dhikala for a couple of nights this Nov 17 (commenting on Nov 01, 2023). I just wish for both of you to join in Corbett. Sending you warm wishes from India.
Thank you for your kind comment. We too wish we could be transported back to the wonderful National Parks of India to listen to the sound of the jungle. There is nothing quite like it.
Thanks for your encouraging comment, from your site it looks as though you are near enough to get into Corbett when you want. I wish we could do the same. Thanks again.
Things have changed a lot now. I guess you shoot this documentary in 90s when Commanders and Jeeps were used for Safari. The details and the way you are narrating the whole jungle is truly incredible and so is the scenic view.
Thank you for your nice and very interesting comment, we will be back in India on Saturday and will visit Corbett but not unfortunately the central part, so we will be able to get up to date. Cheers and take care.
Superb video. The video footage, the bird sounds, the bird names, the commentary, all really high quality. I have read Jim Corbett's books many times over and over again, all my life. I too have been to see his house, and Corbett National Park several times. I never tire of it. Well done a great video, thank you for the hours and hours I know is put in to a video of this quality,
Thank you James for your very nice comments. We like you are avid Jim Corbett fans. At times on this trip it was rather emotional, when we walked the same paths as Jim around the Kanda forest rest house and when we came to Lohachaur and looked into a very old cabinet and saw dusty old books that Jim used to read when staying there. Also it's good to get comments from people that are fully aware of the time it takes to make a decent length video. Like you we have similar videos on our channel, which you may or may not be aware of. ua-cam.com/channels/l7iJ0Mf9ZfU6NUVgHx756Q.htmlvideos Once again thank you and look after yourself.
I am in USA but this video made me feel as I myself visiting Jim Corbett..which is by the way very near to my hometown back in India and I visited last time during 2018.The sound of birds, Wild life,The forest..wow. Very soothing and really awesome work behind the camera. Thanks a lot John and team for bringing back the memories!!
Thank-you for the nicest comment we have had on any of our videos. We have other videos in ua-cam.com/channels/l7iJ0Mf9ZfU6NUVgHx756Q.htmlvideos but you may be already aware of them. The sounds in the jungles of India are wonderful, just wish we could be there now, but after the monsoon. Thank you again and take care.
Wish it were longer, like 2 parts, each 30 min. The jungle sounds are soothing. Hope you will also do some videos on the jungles in South India, like the Kabini, Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats, etc.
Thank you, you are correct we would have liked to have made two parts, but we did not have enough material. We would love to get back to India to do more, but not sure if we ever will make it again. Thank you again and take care.
We also were with you during safari .Next time , please photograph the " bring fever" bird , which bird are called " pew kaha" or Papiya pakhi ( bird) in Bengalee language. Good many thanks. Also ,help us with details including how to reserve forest bunglow, what is the best forest bunglow .
Nice to hear from you. The best forest Rest House is Dhikala but the other Rest Houses have their own charms. The only way we booked these was through an Indian Travel Agent. There used to be restrictions on how long you could stay. Also some Rest Houses don't have Restaurants so you have to take your own food. Please note that this was several years ago and things may have changed. We have videoed the Brain Fever Bird (Common Hawk Cuckoo) in one of our other videos on India. See "Tigers and other wildlife of Central India". Thank you once again for getting in touch.
Hi, it is long time since we visited Corbett NP, so things may have changed. For our visits we used an Indian Travel agent, Travel Inn travelinn.in or if you are in the uk try Naturetrek www.naturetrek.co.uk/tailormade, or if you want to set it up yourself corbettgov.org/process. good luck best time is January to March. If you manage to stay in the park you will be limited to a number of days , used to be 3 or 4 nights.
Hello mate, can we just directly book a package with JC folks or do we need extra permits to see these places you’ve shown in the video? Please let me know…thank you for this amazing video. cheers!
Hi, I am from the uk so different roles may apply for you, but we had to use an Indian travel agent to do the bookings. However I think you can just book the forest rest houses yourself via the national park website. When we travel you could only stay a few nights in each rest house. Take care and thank you for whatching.
Soothing and splendid at the same time. Many thanks for the sincere effort put in to document your experience. Do you keep any 'non camera' or 'non recording' days or time in your tours.. just curious to know
Thanks for the nice comment, it does help to motivate us to do better. As regards non camera/recording days, yes we do plan to have a day when we can relax, but it never seems to happen as time always seems to be so short when on a trip. Take good care in this difficult time. Cheers.
Thanks Yogesh, as we are from the UK we had to book them from an Indian travel agent, but I think you just book them direct from the park web site. When we stayed you were only allowed three days in each forest guest house. Take care and thanks again.

Thanks for your comment. The camera used was a Canon XL-H1 professional camera, using a 5.4-108 mm lens giving it a 20x magnification. This camera is no longer available.

Thank you for your personal and very interesting thoughts on Jim Corbett, which we entirely agree with. He was the reason we first went to India and we so wish we could follow in his footsteps.
