Good one, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL!
"Gimme Chocolate" is "just" a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried worried about their weight. But, yeah those instrumentals are very, very metal and the juxtaposition with the cute vocals, lyrics and choreo was totally the point of the song and the reason why this music video went viral back in 2014. Helping them a lot tbh.
It's their most "popular" song but probably not their best one. But that doesn't stop it from being a blast when they play it live even today.
This music video has the studio version of the audio over the visuals from the concert Legend 1997 held to celebrate Su-metal's (the lead singer) 16th birthday in December 2013. It was the song's live premiere. I suggest you to watch live performances but their music videos are also worth watching.
They are very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁
    Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey!

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥
I'm always glad to see more reactors getting into this amazing group. They were rocking out the whole World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone were having a blast with the setlist, the new songs from latest album and the classic hits, especially GC! either you hate or love it, is a song with crazy amount of views and they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist just like they did yesterday at Greenfield Festival as part of the Europe Tour.
Bummer you got blocked on your first BM reaction along with Electric Callboy, lately that's some usual blocked unfortunately, try to put watermarked logo or visual filters such opacity, blur, mirror or translucent effect next time, it'll probably help.
Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey.
This isn't actually live sound, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance but they're not official members, only these trio are the front women.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._
The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later.
Some recommendations for next songs like:
    - _"Road Of Resistance"_ live in Japan official MV (2015)
    - _Megitsune_ official MV.
    - _Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!_ live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas channel under "Head Bangya" title).
You have more than 60 songs to discover. Amuse their label is very hard to deal so if you want to avoid copyright blocked you have "Babymetal Reactor Resource" channel you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them.
I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it.
    See you next time! 🦊🤘🍫

Oh yeah. These reactions give me life. +1 SUB and LIKE.
The first contact with Babymetal ('Ratatata' does not count), and especially with 'Gimme Chocolate' is always unpredictable and unforgettable.
What you just saw is deligtfully confusing, right?
These girls created their own subgenre in 2010, called Kawaii-Metal (A.K.A. Cute-Metal), mixing voices of Japanese pop idols with metal music AND choreography. It didn't go badly for them xD
Prepare yourself as much as you can, this is going to be an unforgettable trip from which there is no turning back. And you will appreciate it from the bottom of your heart, believe me.

You should see the last song of this show. 'Babymetal Death' live at Legend of 1997. Completely different.
Gimme Chocolate is just a song about Chocolate. But Gimme Choko is a historically relevant phrase. It's very Japanese to touch on topics but not give a clear opinion. To be ambiguous and mysterious. Then when people get upset about whatever opinion they think there was it just reflects on them. They just outted themselves.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs (they just want some chocolate but worry about their weight ... but it is chocolate, it would be so nice and they would be so happy, so can they just have a piece of chocolate please).🍫
It is a bit of a one-off, you will find a lot of variety and experimentation in their songs right from the start.
This was the official video, so although it was filmed at a live show (Legend 1997 celebrating the lead singer's 16th birthday in December 2013, the other two girls were 14) the audio was taken from the studio recording ... shame as they sound better live.
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre (which is why they are called BABYMETAL - it signifies that they invented their own sub-genre, a new style of metal ... it is also a bit of a Japanese pun with BABYMETAL and heavy metal sounding and being written almost identically) and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings.
When they started in 2010 the three members (Su-metal - lead vocalist, Yuimetal and Moametal - backing vocals, harmonies and in charge of hyping and involving the crowd through their choreo) were aged 12, 11 and 11. We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.
Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band.
Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers who would take turns dancing in the third spot until 1st April 2023 when one of those dancers, Momoko, was finally revealed as the new official third member (she is now known as Momometal).
They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They first appeared in October 2012 and became the full time support for all live shows from March 2014.
You didn't see them in this video (the guys at the back in skeleton suits were called Babybones and they were not playing the instruments ... early on BABYMETAL did not have the funding for a live band so the instrumentals were pre-recorded and played on the backing track - the growls and additional instruments like piano, synth etc are also on track). At this show the Kami Band came on for the last 5 songs - it was the last time they played only the encores.
In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then and since April last year they have been at every concert (nearly 100 in 25 countries in 2023 and they are doing all the festivals and more this year).
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
You should be getting a lot of good recommendations and suggestions for more songs - go with any of them, you've seen 'Gimme Chocolate' and liked it so you can't go wrong, but remember - although the official videos are all good and worth seeing, BABYMETAL are a live performance act - that is where you will always see - and hear - them at their very best.
For another early song I would suggest another song from this same concert in December 2013, but this one is live and with the Kami Band. Look on the abr metal channel for 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997.
For something more recent and very different try 'Mirror Mirror' live at PIA MM Arena April 2023.

Welcome to the foxhole. Nice reaction. The sounds Yui and Moa are making at the start of the song are the sounds kids in Japan make for guns sounds and they hold their hands in a gun shape. So, they aren't asking for chocolate. They're demanding it at gun point. In a kid friendly manner of course. If you know any chocoholics point them to this song. They will get that deep demon growl voice instantly. I think that's what they hear whenever that chocolate erg hits. Sometimes they are the ones sounding like that as they ask for chocolate. LOL. They seem to not know it though. Su is the lead singer and was born with more talent than humanly possible. Moa says when Su sings it's like an angel came down. As you go down the foxhole you too will start to understand that Moa is right, and she know because she is an angel herself. Since they started around 2010. When Su was 12. Their first album came out in 2014. With this song on it. But they had been performing this for 4 years already. Su has added a lot of vocal skills on top of her talent. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

Welcome to the paradoxial and fun world of Babymetal! While they didn't do the harsh vocals here, you should check out: *Metali (Official Live).* Their new 3rd member Momometal (who replaced Yui after she left in 2018) gave everyone a wonderful surprise, and turned into MOMOZILLA for a split second. 🤣

🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, as well as a live performance (finally!) in Japan of Bring Me The Horizon's "Kingslayer" which they were featured on! 🤘🦊🤘

A quick technical note; I'm getting a lot of pops and crackles on your mic sound. The music sound is great. I've just finished going through all of your The Warning videos and this is present on all of them, not just this video. I am listening on a $400 set of Sennheiser headphones so it may not be an issue for everyone.
Otherwise, great videos, enjoying your reactions to some of my favourite bands and welcome to the fox hole!
