Yeah, it seems as though they listen to all the criticism that was out there. Every upgrade that's in this bike I've seen is comments in my previous videos. Cool to see them doing something about it
I preordered the 9 yesterday at Trek. I was told I was number 2 in the United States to order the 9. First to order it in a Large. I am STOKED!!!!! One thing you didn’t cover was the fact that the eThirteen crank arms on the large are 170. That’s a huge plus to me. All my other bikes are 175.

I would also be pretty upset if it’s more than a year wait on a bike they are selling and advertising. Can you sell something that isn’t actually available in any quantity? Isn’t that false advertising? You may be right but I pray you’re wrong. I paid for the bike in full as well. I just can’t see Trek not putting out at least a few thousand bikes this year. That would be really poor brand representation. Fingers crossed.
I have the 2021 Roscoe 6 and have UPGRADED EVERY component.. My FINAL upgrade was just finished and I’m now running SRAM GX AXS with SRAM Reverb AXS (Bike COMPLETED).. Love MY Roscoe 6.. Great Review…. 🇺🇸
I don’t think you are wrong in regards to the Roscoe 6. It’s a good bike to get you started. However I think people will praise the new Roscoe (7-9) and it will get great reviews. People getting started might buy a 6 based on those reviews and think that it’s the “same” bike with lower specs.
So relieved i did not make a mistake jumping the gun on a 6. It will be my first MTB being a roadie. Will use it as robust bikepacking rig with upgraded forks.

I love my 2020 Roscoe 8, the only thing I wish it had is a boost 148 thru-axle. I did swap the stock bar/stem to Race Face Affect 35's in 780mm wide and 40mm, made a huge difference in the handling. I will continue to gradually upgrade parts as needed. Kinda wish I could buy this new improved iteration....especially the 9

James actually only does a detailed overview. He doesn't put the bike through it's paces by riding the shit out of them, so his videos arent reviews either.

People should have bought the Stache and it would be still around. Unfortunately the market spoke and 29+ is dead, as very few people took it up with any manufacturer's bikes.
I don’t really understand all the lingo but I’m 6f2” with a 34 inside leg what size would I need as you say in video that the new 2022 are now a bit longer. Does that mean a XL would be to big 🤷🏼♂️ sorry I’m still doing my homework. 😁
The lingo means they've made the bike more capable and stable on rougher terrain. You do still ride the same size bike even with the changes, so a XL would be correct
Of all the riders who bought a 2020 and 2021 Roscoe. Didn't matter what model. Replaced either the wheel set or had someone re-lace the wheels with new hubs. Everyone either used Novotech or Shimano MT400. Then. the bike became a different creature. Trek using Formula hubs should be ashamed of themselves.
@@Jamesthebikeguy Not at all for a company that makes great bikes in the past. Using formula hubs in the past on a Roscoe seems like saving pennies to spend dollars later. I can honestly say after trying out the 2022 Roscoe 7. It is a GREAT bike hands down for 2k Canadian. Thru axle front and rear. MT500 and MT400 hubs. Bontrager wheels. Deore 12 speed. What is not to like on that bike....
I had a 2020 Roscoe 7 Dropped a lyric on it slacked then HA to 65 and put on 4 pot brakes It was cool but I got a 2020 Ragley Marley frame and never looked back lol Trek is over priced for the bike Look at Ragley or scout
I don't know, this is a real competitor to the scout. The shorter chainstays will make it a bit more playful and the pricing is very close to the scout lineup. Never ridden either bike though so I couldn't say for sure. I've heard nothing but good things about Ragleys
That's a great thought in theory. But it's not quite as easy as I think you may imagine. The world is a supply chain now, and without intercontinental trade at some level most things could not be built.

You have zero idea what you're asking for. Manufacturing is never coming back to the pre-Nixon normalization levels. And, Americans can't afford it if we tried. Good luck getting min wage set to the ~$70/hour it would take to cover a 400% increase in living expenses.

Looks like the new Roscoe is a spiritual replacement to the Stache. I need a frame of one of these or a Fuse, whichever one I come across first.

IMO 73 degree seat tube is not steep enough given the slack head angle. They got rid of the boost 141 rear though! Hopefully this marks its death.
Boost 141 will long be with us. It makes a ton of sense to keep using it.

It’s beautiful, but too pricey. That Trek brand has it’s own weight in the price.
It might lose a bit of price as it ages, but yeah it's definitely for people who decide that they want a hardtail for full squish price.

In fact the Trek Stache is far superior, and in my opinion it was a big mistake for Trek to cancel their production line.

The 141mm rear hub was a lousy spec
It never should been a 27.5 in the first place...they did not have a "trail" , hardtail 29er. When the supply chain recovers I'll order one.
