Klaia (Claea) was the Oreiad-nymph of a sacred cave on Mount Kalathion (Calathium) in Messenia (southern Greece).

τῆς δὲ χώρας τῆς Γερηνίας ὄρος Καλάθιόν ἐστιν• ἐν αὐτῷ Κλαίας ἱερὸν καὶ σπήλαιον παρʼ αὐτὸ τὸ ἱερόν, ἔσοδον μὲν στενήν, τὰ δὲ ἔνδον παρεχόμενον θέας ἄξια. Γερηνίας δὲ ὡς ἐς μεσόγαιαν ἄνω τριάκοντα ἀπέχει σταδίους Ἀλαγονία, καὶ τὸ πόλισμα κατηρίθμησα ἤδη καὶ τοῦτο ἐν Ἐλευθερολάκωσι• θέας δὲ αὐτόθι ἄξια Διονύσου καὶ Ἀρτέμιδός ἐστιν ἱερά.
In the land of Gerenia, there is a mountain called Kalathion. On this mountain, there is a sanctuary to Klaia and a cave near it. The cave has a narrow entrance, but the inside is worth seeing. Gerenia is thirty stades away from Alagonia, located further inland.
I have already included Alagonia in the list of cities belonging to the Eleutherolakones. There are also sanctuaries of Dionysus and Artemis in Alagonia that are worth visiting.
