We were playing Pictionary with my parents.... you have a word, you draw the picture as fast as you can and your partner has to guess it. The word was Peace. My brother is my partner. Being a teenager at the time, I of course draw a peace sign. Boom...we win. I look over and my mother is still drawing, not realizing that we had already won, and she is drawing a dove and an olive branch. Her only symbol of peace. God Bless my Catholic parents. Since Jesus is the ONLY MEDIATOR between God and men (1 Timothy 2:5), why do you feel the need to go through Mary to consecrate yourself to God? Thank you, Fr. Mark. This was such an important message on the often-times ignored Holy Spirit. In the last two to three years I have come to realize the importance of the Holy Spirit. After all, Jesus told his apostles he would be sending the Holy Spirit, and until He did, they lived in mostly fear. He is the Person of God who is especially here for us in battling the temptations of this world-we don’t ignore the Father or the Son, but the Holy Spirit has a vital void to fill in us because the Father and Son sent Him to be with us forever. We do have to ask for His presence in our lives and His beautiful gifts He offers us are so generous and those gifts will see us through the battles of temptation, our selfishness, and give us wisdom and understanding-but each of us must ask Him to be present and effect our lives.

Pray for our priests. Especially the ones that are the head(they go by different titles) of their parish. Our priests are such gifts from God and we need to support them in any way we can.

Dear Fr. Mark, this was a wonderful sermon, and I only wish to say that, to my thinking, a true sign of growing in holiness, is simply this: gratitude. How many times do we see in Scripture where Jesus "gives thanks to the Father?" If we awaken and (perhaps with the urging of our Guardian Angels) say, "Thank you, God, for this new day!", and then we go on to say "Thanks" to God for everything--a hot shower, clean water, a gentle breeze while working in the hot sun--whatever the situation, that's a good indicator that we also recognize that we are constant recipients of God the Father's, Jesus', and the Holy Spirit's blessings! Jesus said to Maria Valtorta in the "Poem of the Man God" that every created thing has a song, and those created things are constantly singing hymns of thanksgiving and praise to the Father, in a harmony that permeates the universe. I believe we should all pray to be more thankful--even for the smallest of things in our lives. More thankful=holier, nice formula, don't you think? May our Blessed Virgin Mother always hold you close to Her Immaculate Heart, Fr. Mark.
Father, thank you for your homily on the Holy Spirit. Father, I know that in every sermon that you give, you are guided by the Holy Spirit and it touches the hearts of the people. Praise the Lord ! Father, I humbly ask you for a favour,for the benefit of many Catholics. Father, please speak on the meaning, value and the power of the Holy Mass. It is by reading a little booklet titled " Wonders of the Mass" by Father Paul O' Sullivan, 28 years ago that I learnt the truth about the Holy Mass. When I learnt that the Holy Mass is the Calvary Sacrifice performed on the Alter by the power of the Holy Spirit, I could not be satisfied by attending Sunday Mass only. A true believer is baptized/indwelt and sealed with the Holy Spirit forever. The Holy Spirit gives eternal life to all true believers therefore a true believer cannot lose their salvation because it is a gift of GOD by His grace NOT through any process of works. A true believer belongs to GOD not to himself. Anyone can be baptized with water and NOT be a true believer. No one can be baptized by Christ with the Holy Spirit and NOT be a true believer. Why? Because the Holy Spirit gives a person spiritual life. My evidence from the Word of GOD is as follows: John 14:16 KJV "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you FOREVER; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and shall be IN YOU." Acts 11:15 KJV "And as I (Peter) began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how that He said, John indeed baptized with water; but you (true believers) shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost." Well I stropped at 2:14!!! Father Goring, are you sure you are catholic??? Don't we receive the holy spirit at baptism? You see father, that's the problem with the protestant movement of charismatic, the followers of this pentecostal movement go further and further away from the Church's teachings! The Holy Spirit is with us for ever when we get baptized. He is in the world as God is...for ever! The holy spirit is here but to receive Him AND HIS GIFTS, people must be baptized!!! Further more father, don't the saints, doctors of the Church and the Church say that the gifts of the Holy spirit are given freely by God to those HE chooses? The pentecostal movement thinks it can acquire them by asking or taking courses! If there is one thing I have noticed in this movement that makes it so far from sainthood, it is the lack of humility! The whole world cannot receive the Holy Spirit because not everyone is baptized. Christians - and so Catholics - receive baptism, which allows the Holy Spirit to replace the evil sin in each of us. Thank you Fr. Goring for the reminder.
Father , I have always hesitated to ask the Holy Spirit to come to me because I know I am not a pure dwelling place- I am scared to offend the Holy Spirit because I t would be an unforgivable sin. But then I am not afraid to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist- please help me reconcile this mindset- Thank you-

The way to maintain life in the spirit Jesus told us in the Greatest Commandment and that is Matthew 22 34 to 40. Going to the Lord in worship and prayer and taking on a Christ heart therefor a Christ mind. Confession is unbiblical. It keeps a person from praying to God for themselves and repenting themselves and it prevents us from being directly humbled in his presence when we go to him with our sins. When God humbles us we can not help but cry and feel sorry for all our sins and many we do not even see until we are in his presence being emersed in his Holy Spirit. Ask God to open your heart and he will. Do not think you must get rid of all your sin before you can talk to God or before he will help you. We can not be without sin until Jesus makes us a new person who can not stand sin and the suffering it causes. We will see it a mile away and be fooled no more. This is why Jesus stressed over and over that it is the real childlike unconditional love we need to take to the Lord. We also need to have that love for others. If we are getting annoyed at people while driving or angry with people who do us wrong we are lost in sin and with dark unforgiving hearts. A forgiving heart no longer has feeling of contempt. I know this fist hand. God changed me and I had to have loving obedience and I had to humble myself before him in worship. I had to resist the temptations to sin and even if I failed it was more important that I was in fact resisting because I cared in my heart and I know God uses our consciences to show us right from wrong. I knew I was hanging onto an unforgiveness and I saw that I was giving myself permission to disobey the Lord. He made my mind clear to see it because I went to him with my heart in trust. I trusted that his will for me is better than my will. I trusted that no consequence of the world is worse than being separated from him. I pray for our catholic brothers and sisters who have been indoctrinated with false doctrines. The bible is clear about not worshiping people or praying to the dead. We will know them by their fruits, and the silence on teh residential; schools in Canada as late as the 1990s had Children being tortured and exp0eriemtned on and buried in mass graves. The Catholic Church takes no responsibility and covers up for criminals and that is is not ok. The pope and his bishops anointed King Charles the defender of the FAITHS. There is only one faith and he can not serve two masters. We know the company he keeps and his involvement with the WEF. He is the head of it. Then there are the freemasons. I pray the truth will be known in your hearts and you will turn away from this organization of evil and join the real Church. The catholic church did not even want us to have our own bibles. If you do not know the Tindale story you should research this. I am not against any Catholics. It is the organization of the Church that defies Gods Word and changes it and adds books to the Bible. The catholic Church is not the original Church either. They were the roman church. The antichrist is to be a roman ruler. Could be a pope, could be Chuck. Could be a lot of people. If my words are upsetting to you then search your heart and ask yourself if it is pride. I say this with love and compassion and concern.
This is why we should avoid alcohol and other intoxicating things. These deaden the senses and separate us from our Holy Spirit (consciousness) and allow us to do evil that we later regret. Guard your heart at all times! Viva Cristo Rey!
As you stated if we have God and his commandments at the centre of our lives then there is nothing to fear. But society is struggling to maintain a moral compass because sadly He isn't at the centre of their lives. The World needs a wake up call.

Thank you, Fr. Mark. This was such an important message on the often-times ignored Holy Spirit. In the last two to three years I have come to realize the importance of the Holy Spirit. After all, Jesus told his apostles he would be sending the Holy Spirit, and until He did, they lived in mostly fear. He is the Person of God who is especially here for us in battling the temptations of this world-we don’t ignore the Father or the Son, but the Holy Spirit has a vital void to fill in us because the Father and Son sent Him to be with us forever. We do have to ask for His presence in our lives and His beautiful gifts He offers us are so generous and those gifts will see us through the battles of temptation, our selfishness, and give us wisdom and understanding-but each of us must ask Him to be present and effect our lives.

Dear Fr. Mark, this was a wonderful sermon, and I only wish to say that, to my thinking, a true sign of growing in holiness, is simply this: gratitude. How many times do we see in Scripture where Jesus "gives thanks to the Father?" If we awaken and (perhaps with the urging of our Guardian Angels) say, "Thank you, God, for this new day!", and then we go on to say "Thanks" to God for everything--a hot shower, clean water, a gentle breeze while working in the hot sun--whatever the situation, that's a good indicator that we also recognize that we are constant recipients of God the Father's, Jesus', and the Holy Spirit's blessings! Jesus said to Maria Valtorta in the "Poem of the Man God" that every created thing has a song, and those created things are constantly singing hymns of thanksgiving and praise to the Father, in a harmony that permeates the universe. I believe we should all pray to be more thankful--even for the smallest of things in our lives. More thankful=holier, nice formula, don't you think? May our Blessed Virgin Mother always hold you close to Her Immaculate Heart, Fr. Mark.

Father, I humbly ask you for a favour,for the benefit of many Catholics. Father, please speak on the meaning, value and the power of the Holy Mass. It is by reading a little booklet titled " Wonders of the Mass" by Father Paul O' Sullivan, 28 years ago that I learnt the truth about the Holy Mass. A true believer is baptized/indwelt and sealed with the Holy Spirit forever. The Holy Spirit gives eternal life to all true believers therefore a true believer cannot lose their salvation because it is a gift of GOD by His grace NOT through any process of works. A true believer belongs to GOD not to himself. Anyone can be baptized with water and NOT be a true believer. No one can be baptized by Christ with the Holy Spirit and NOT be a true believer. Why? Because the Holy Spirit gives a person spiritual life.
My evidence from the Word of GOD is as follows:
John 14:16 KJV "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you FOREVER;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and shall be IN YOU."
Acts 11:15 KJV "And as I (Peter) began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how that He said, John indeed baptized with water; but you (true believers) shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost."

Well I stropped at 2:14!!! Father Goring, are you sure you are catholic??? Don't we receive the holy spirit at baptism? You see father, that's the problem with the protestant movement of charismatic, the followers of this pentecostal movement go further and further away from the Church's teachings! The Holy Spirit is with us for ever when we get baptized. He is in the world as God is...for ever! The holy spirit is here but to receive Him AND HIS GIFTS, people must be baptized!!! Further more father, don't the saints, doctors of the Church and the Church say that the gifts of the Holy spirit are given freely by God to those HE chooses? The pentecostal movement thinks it can acquire them by asking or taking courses! If there is one thing I have noticed in this movement that makes it so far from sainthood, it is the lack of humility! Sorry father, but with all due respect I must say what I have said! Btw, I live in Ottawa so should you ever want to speak to me, I would be delighted. God bless

The whole world cannot receive the Holy Spirit because not everyone is baptized. Christians - and so Catholics - receive baptism, which allows the Holy Spirit to replace the evil sin in each of us. Thank you Fr. Goring for the reminder.
Father , I have always hesitated to ask the Holy Spirit to come to me because I know I am not a pure dwelling place- I am scared to offend the Holy Spirit because I t would be an unforgivable sin. But then I am not afraid to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist- please help me reconcile this mindset- Thank you-

The way to maintain life in the spirit Jesus told us in the Greatest Commandment and that is Matthew 22 34 to 40. Going to the Lord in worship and prayer and taking on a Christ heart therefor a Christ mind. Confession is unbiblical. It keeps a person from praying to God for themselves and repenting themselves and it prevents us from being directly humbled in his presence when we go to him with our sins. When God humbles us we can not help but cry and feel sorry for all our sins and many we do not even see until we are in his presence being emersed in his Holy Spirit. Ask God to open your heart and he will. Do not think you must get rid of all your sin before you can talk to God or before he will help you. We can not be without sin until Jesus makes us a new person who can not stand sin and the suffering it causes. We will see it a mile away and be fooled no more. This is why Jesus stressed over and over that it is the real childlike unconditional love we need to take to the Lord. We also need to have that love for others.
If we are getting annoyed at people while driving or angry with people who do us wrong we are lost in sin and with dark unforgiving hearts. A forgiving heart no longer has feeling of contempt. I know this fist hand. God changed me and I had to have loving obedience and I had to humble myself before him in worship. I had to resist the temptations to sin and even if I failed it was more important that I was in fact resisting because I cared in my heart and I know God uses our consciences to show us right from wrong. I knew I was hanging onto an unforgiveness and I saw that I was giving myself permission to disobey the Lord. He made my mind clear to see it because I went to him with my heart in trust. I trusted that his will for me is better than my will. I trusted that no consequence of the world is worse than being separated from him.
I pray for our catholic brothers and sisters who have been indoctrinated with false doctrines. The bible is clear about not worshiping people or praying to the dead. We will know them by their fruits, and the silence on teh residential; schools in Canada as late as the 1990s had Children being tortured and exp0eriemtned on and buried in mass graves. The Catholic Church takes no responsibility and covers up for criminals and that is is not ok. The pope and his bishops anointed King Charles the defender of the FAITHS. There is only one faith and he can not serve two masters. We know the company he keeps and his involvement with the WEF. He is the head of it. Then there are the freemasons. I pray the truth will be known in your hearts and you will turn away from this organization of evil and join the real Church. The catholic church did not even want us to have our own bibles. If you do not know the Tindale story you should research this. I am not against any Catholics. It is the organization of the Church that defies Gods Word and changes it and adds books to the Bible. The catholic Church is not the original Church either. They were the roman church. The antichrist is to be a roman ruler. Could be a pope, could be Chuck. Could be a lot of people. If my words are upsetting to you then search your heart and ask yourself if it is pride. I say this with love and compassion and concern.
This is why we should avoid alcohol and other intoxicating things. These deaden the senses and separate us from our Holy Spirit (consciousness) and allow us to do evil that we later regret. Guard your heart at all times! Viva Cristo Rey!

As you stated if we have God and his commandments at the centre of our lives then there is nothing to fear. But society is struggling to maintain a moral compass because sadly He isn't at the centre of their lives. The World needs a wake up call.
