Anthony’s supporting cast isn’t reliable. I think that’s a big part of the problem. One week, it’s the WR’s dropping passes. This past week, it was the interior offensive line giving up a a ton of pressures and committing penalties. It’s rare to see the Colts play well in all three phases. I will say AR has looked a lot more focused the past two weeks. I also really liked Shane’s play calling against the Jets, and during the first half against the Lions. I think the Colts were afraid to run Anthony prior to his benching. When they let him play his game, he looks comfortable and makes good throws. He struggles when they get one dimensional, like they did yesterday in the 2nd half against the Lions. AR tends to regress when he has to pass it every down.
The Colts exceeded my low expectations. I don't think they will win all their remaining games and somehow make it into the playoffs but if they do I will be really happy. For me it is all about Richardson's development and I have to say he looks better. Thanks for the video.
1:13 You obviously don't know who this player is that you think he had an opportunity to make miss. You should look into that because AR tried to make him miss, but Kerby Joseph is a very solid tackler who has not allowed a single touchdown pass to be caught by a player he's defending all year. Literally, no one has caught a touchdown pass on Kerby Joseph this year. He's a beast.
Since he came back from benching he looks a lot more in control. It feels like he was messing up his mechanics because he was in his own head a little bit. He said the game felt slower in the jets game. Maybe we all overthought this, he is a super raw prospect who is coming back from missing an entire season off getting shoulder surgery. I know he did some serious rehab and mechanics workshopping in the off season. It could be literally be as simple as he came back to football, straight into starting against the texans, packers, steelers, and bears defense WITHOUT Josh downs until the game he got banged up. Then he came back looking off, and then tap out happens and they pulled him. It could literally be as simple as his confidence went boom, he got a little immature as a 22 year old, and they sat him down, got him off the ledge, made him watch for two weeks and he saw Flacco play like crap and got his number called and he came in with something to prove. Since he came back in, he is definitely playing better and growing. He is NOT a finished product, but his efficiency is improving a lot and unlike a different bad QB like say Zach Wilson, even at his worst he comes with tons of upside on the explosive play and red zone areas. Last few games he looks like an NFL QB, and one with tons of potential. He also, as you correctly point out, has awful tight ends and those tend to be great comfort blankets for rookie/inexperienced QBs.
AD looks like he's afraid to hit or take on one guy on the sideline. Juke, spin, stiff arm, do something extra man, is his effort a problem??? Go Colts.
@PowerHourNFL I also think he goes a piece of a second too fast on QB draws, he needs to let the defenders get another step down field b4 he takes off. and on his play action fakes, I watch. there always a guy going with AR on his fakes after a hand off, but AR takes on step then stops. Just take 1 more step and drag the defender further away from the play. I've been saying this all season though and nothing has changed. ud think coaches would be on the details like that. running the ball behind blockers is something u feel though, learned by doing.
As a former offensive lineman its not on the RB to slow down their roll when they find an opening. Its up to your slow ass to get around into the hole and o to the blocker. That is *your one job* and Goncalvez failed at it.
hard to win , when every time u convert a big third down, the refs throw a flag. not just this game, every game. specially vs teams with winning records. refs will let them do what ever, and call every little tictac foul they can on the colts
Any Idea Why They Didn’t Hand The Ball To Running Back The 2nd Half? I Honestly Have Never Seen This Before. Not With Vick Or Fields Or Lamar Or No One?
@ … Ok That Explains SOME… But No Outside Runs With The Running Back, But They Ran The QB Runs Inside 6 Times In The Second Half. Bad Coaching Or Something Else Was Going On
He actually did good against yall pass defense, just drops and poor execution by the receivers, he definitely should've been over 50 percent by his play, but people are putting too much stock into percentage anyway. Qbs dink n donk all game with high percentages and are still less effective.
@colbsqueeze1978 yep. Andrew luck had to do the same thing. He could of easily been close to a 70% completion qb, but the oline was so bad he knew if they dink and dunked it. The oline would give up a play that would kill a drive, so he just started pushing down the field with every chance he could so they could a actually have chances to score.
So depressing. So close to being a good team if they just stop making simple mistakes (dropped passes, dumb holds). It's like trying to take a dump and just getting farts😢
its a bad narrative. They’re all growing u know, feeling each other out - but if it becomes a public thing then it will be like tension within the team because it’s like Anthony is getting all the adulation and not them 😂.

@ the offensive play calling is awful. I’m not sure what games you’re watching. But the scheme is just awful. I watch the Colts every week. The screen plays and runs up the middle.. we’re like the failed Tennessee titans when they had Vrabel. Run up the middle, screen pass, run up the middle, play action. Yes there was a lot of drops and the Oline had their head up their ass all day with the mental penalties. But the play calling doesn’t adhere to Richardsons strengths. I agree defensively , bend don’t break but we almost always break. Just not a good team. Back to the drawing board. Go Colts!
Yes, AR is being held back by his accuracy and his lack of consistency. Sometimes he's dead money, other times he overthrows by five yards. He also needs a Justin Jefferson.
You gotta focus on his 2 most recent games. Sure I'll give you his games prior to benching when stating his overthrows. But his most recent 2 games he was fine. The Jets game, he threw the ball late and relied on arm strength. This game he actually lead his receivers.
