I have several owls in my yard / trees 🌳 and in surrounding neighbors yard. I hear them communicating often, all with different calls. Sometimes one will fly out of the tree and I can catch a glimpse at night. That wing span is crazy.

Definitely a lot of wildlife in S. Jersey. Red tail fox, beavers & ground hogs are also running ramped along with skunks sitting on my front porch, opossum and much more.
This brought a smile to me, where I am in FL we have the burrowing owls, much smaller but I have one that comes and goes around my house and even stays on watch on the wreath on the front door. Almost gave my sister a heart attack during Christmas when she came to visit 😂😂
That's one beautiful looking 🦉 owl i call them, too, with audio of other owl calls its pretty neat hearing them respond. There's the mourning dove that makes a similar owl sound too.
If you hear one in april, keep going Toward the Sound, It could be nesting. We had 2 Owls in the same Tree for 4 Years, in April. Then had Babies, it was amazing seeing them daily.
Here in Society hill sc we have one in a big oak tree back corner of our yard. I think same one for last 5 yrs. But don't hear it until around 11pm. I saw him or her a couple times with a spot light. If i guess it's at least over 16" tall. A male and female red Cardinal shows up here early spring for last 4yrs. Always together. Male is bright red and female is kinda dull red. Im always out in my shop working on something with the garage door wide open and they are out there most of the year.
I got one in the woods across the yard from me. We named him Hootie. He pops up late in the evening and that joker is huge. Love hearing him hoot though and now we have a pack of coyotes that done showed up and was yelping the other night. Late evenings in Lawrence, KS you might here and see anything.We get cardnials and crows all the time but the Bluejays are fun. They will talk all day long. I like going out on my porch on the weekend and listen to the wildlife. It's so nice even when the neighbor kid comes by and starts yapping first thing in the moring. LOL!

I work in a warehouse and we had an owl that made his home in there. He would not move until like 6 o'clock. We rolled a roll of black tape across the floor and he was on it like white on rice. It finally left after like 6 months
