Montgomery and Gibbs will be a top 1,2 punch in the league behind a top 3 OLine. We then add the best defensive player in college football at our most needed position (LB). We low key had the best first round and noone sees it because mock drafts have everyone focused on certain names.
Texans trading a future 1st,2nd and 3rd rd pick for Will Anderson is a big gamble. Having #2 & #3 ovr picks in the same draft can be franchise changing if they hit
It can also be franchise changing if you miss on both. I'm not a Texans fan but being a die hard Bear fan I root for the underdog. The Bears are underdogs most games.

Demeco Ryans turned Bosa into a superstar. I like Anderson and the potential he has with Ryans. He will be a star with Texans. He is not the miss that Clowney was.

Hutch and da problem on on the edges, Two huge middle line backers in Jack and thor, Walker and kerby at saftey, And CJGJ, mossley, and sutton on the wrs at CB. Im liking this lineup on defense all of a sudden. So whats left to add in the second round? BPA? Fill depth?? Man this isnt what i expected but im not mad.

And if your LB is chasing a guy more than 40 yards you've already got an issue. He tied parsons down to the hundredth of a second on the 10 yard split of the 40 yard dash. (1.59 10yd split) Hes roughly the same height and weight as TJ watt, but ran a faster 40 and faster 3-cone than watt. Dude had the best coverage grade of any LB in fbs per pff, and won awards for being the best LB. Time will tell.

He’s an excellent prospect and has crazy potential. Just don’t no why the lions would draft Gibbs when they have swift and also signed David Montgomery.. kinda questionable. But they will always have a run game that’s for sure.

Lions trying to prove they're "the smartest people in the room." Taking Aiden at 2 and Sewell at 7, nobody in media had issues with those picks because they were easy decisions. Unless dude is Christian Mccafrey then this pick could never be justified. It's a LUXURY pick , not sure why a 9-7 team felt like they had luxury picks. Jalen Carter at 9 is a perfect example, PHI is a very good team, you take a chance on Carter because even if he never plays a single snap next year, that team might go to the Superbowl.
I love my lions but I absolutely hate that pic of the running back. We have 2 running backs already now. We have three running backs while our defensive line is still suspect.
The Lions got arguably the best offensive weapon in the draft, a back with speed who catches the ball well. Swift is always injured and in a contract year, Montgomery is a solid back who doesn't have the long speed or game breaking ability. Gibbs is the perfect complement in this system.
