In today’s episode of Figuring Out, Raj Shamani talks with the popular singer & songwriter, Armaan Malik. Known as the ‘Romance king’ of the Music Industry in India, Armaan has sung in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, English, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu and Malayalam. Malik has become the first Indian singer-songwriter to be featured on the prestigious Spotify Times Square Billboard in New York City for his latest English single titled 'Control'.
Armaan inherits his music talent from his family and speaks about challenges that come with it. He started his career from a reality show when he was just 9 years old and went on to become a child voiceover & dub artist. He’s known to have voiced for the character of Aladdin and shares with us some glimpses of his experience in this genre.
Having started making his independent music, Armaan speaks about how Bollywood music was not making him happy and shares with us about his decision to move on from bollywood. That's why he is my favourite singer from 7 years ..he is so calm and composed . The confidence and passion he has , is just awesome. I remember the time when I recharge my mom's phone just to listen to Armaan's concert videos. He looked like a cute child then . I am so glad to see my favourite artist at a podcast telling his tale of passion .

met armaan a couple years back, and i must say he’s the most humble and realistic celebrity i have ever come across.
2015 was the first time when I saw Armaan and Amaal on Indian Idol. And since then the journey has been so beautiful.
I've seen and lived each of the moments of their successes and failures.
You know it's rightly said you become what you watch and who you be with and who you follow, and I think I was blessed to have known them then. Absolutely wonderful humans.
I'm super proud of who Armaan has become. Insanely magical.

I saw Armaan first time in Indian Idol in 2015 ..He was may be 20 and I was 12 and after damn 8 years this guy has grown so much ..And at the age of 20 I'm still fond of him

If somebody who can take the charge of Bollywood songs after Arijit Singh era, it should be Armaan Malik. He is a great singer , very soothing to the ears. He hasn’t get his due yet.
I think today not many singers get chance to sing in bollywood movies most of songs are sung by arijit singh and jubin nautiyal (no hate to them) but also new ppl are not getting and ppl are getting into independent stuff and that is the future of indian music which seems to be very bright ❤❤
So blame it on the fan base Arijit Singh has created. I just am really fascinated by the ways people find out to blame established people when we the public are at fault. People love Arijit Singh so much (blind love!!!) that they are not ready to giv other singers a chance. Best example being the song Rasiya from Brahmastra! It was sung by Tushar Joshi who did a fabulous job in singing it but the entire comment section is full of morons saying Arijit would have done a better job. The only person who could have sung that song is Tushar Joshi!
PS- Blame the masses for making heroes just out of anybody and everybody!

@@seemonjena659 Where's the problem though? If people want to listen a version of song in a certain voice I don't think there's any wrong in it. Because you already got the other version, so it's not like other artists are facing injustice. After all it's all for public, without public there's no singer composer... It's artists job to fulfill public's wish. Because you as an artist can't force anyone who They should listen.

I was looking for a non-biased honest discussion of a singer to figure out what is happening in bollywood music as i stopped listening bollywood music since 2016/2017 due to falling short in terms of singing quality, lyric, composition. It is one of the best PODCAST i have heard in recent times. Looking forward to more. Looks like Indie music is the future. Love Arman Malik. One of the few iconic brand voices ever. I always feel like its the voice that makes horse of the long race rather than how diverse or difficult alaap you can pull out successfully. Love from Bangladesh.

Loved this. Have always loved Armaan's songs. He is such a wise, calm & at peace soul. May God bless him always. Loved everything about this interview, especially where Armaan mentioned about - how he got replaced multiple times, how he didn't use his surname for the music competition, how he has questioned that you need to sing live, if you are a singer doing a show. He is such a confident, blessed soul devoid of ego. ❤
He is honest about his journey & experiences in Bollywood industries
When it comes to live performance (singing) nobody can beat the legendary Sonu Nigam. He also jumps and dances but never lip syncs and never goes out of tune. If one can’t sing live, they aren’t a singer!

Just a quick advice, kindly use stands for the microphones rather than swing arms because the resonance is being transfered from the table to the mic creating disturbances kn the audio. Talking about riders, most artists aren’t just singing, they’re performing full sets in heavy clothes under a lot of bright lighting. That’s one of the main reasons they get heat strokes and super dehydrated while performing. It takes a toll on them. And remember if they’re on a tour and doing this everyday the physical toll is very bad.
