Old Rawalpindi is on the left side on Jamia Masjid Road of Rawalpindi, where the streets are so narrow that according to Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi, 'a man is coming from one side and a woman is coming from the other side, there is only room for marriage in the middle.'
In the old days, these narrow streets were built keeping security in mind and secondly, it was not even known at that time that the times would change so fast that horses and donkeys would be replaced by motor cars and the opposing forces would attack the borders instead of the gates of the city.
Both time and history stand still in these old streets of Rawalpindi. The street turning left on Jamia Masjid Road is Chan Bazar, on the left side of which is Mohalla Nayariyan.
'Nyari' is an ancient profession that refers to those who sift gold from river sand. When the river Swan was flowing in abundance, it was the Nyaris who sifted the sand collected on its banks to separate the fine particles of gold which were later molded. Next to the same neighborhood is Sarafa Bazar where this gold was made into ornaments.
There is no history of when these Nyaris settled here, but two names are important in the foundation of Rawalpindi: one is that of Sardar Jhande Khan of Gakhar at the end of the fifteenth century and the other is that of Sardar Milkha Singh Thaypuria, who In the last decades of the 18th century, the town developed so much that people from the surrounding areas started settling here.
It is most likely that the Nyaris also settled here during the same period, with a large number of migrants from Hazro in Bhera and Attock. It is believed that a dangerous flood in the Jhelum and Indus rivers led to the migration to Rawalpindi. According to the Gazetteer of Attock District 1930, a dangerous flood occurred in Attock District in 1841, which left no one alive in the villages around the Indus River.
Similarly, the signs of a dangerous flood are scattered in the historic towns of Nilab and Makhad of Attock district. The Nilab has rock formations similar to those found at the Diamer Bhasha Dam site. There was a great flood that lifted these rocks and threw them hundreds of miles away. Similarly, there is a round stone on both sides of the mountains in Makhad, which is found in the bed of the river, meaning that so much water came that it passed over the mountains.
There is an ancient mosque in Mohalla Nayariyan which is known as Golion Wali Masjid. The year of construction is 1010 Hijri written on its door, which is 1602 according to the CE calendar. This is the time when India was ruled by Mughal-e-Azam Akbar.
The walls of this mosque are up to 10 feet thick with arches. The mosque is 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. The arches were done with Multani Meenakari in 2013 and the front arch is decorated with Mughal art, earlier glass and Mughal art work was also done. However, its real name is Shahi Masjid which is the first mosque in Rawalpindi which was built during the reign of Sher Shah Suri.
The well in the courtyard of the mosque is also ancient. However, its water was salty, so it was used for martyred scrolls of the Holy Quran. Salt water was replaced by fresh water when the mosque was cleaned during its expansion in 1985.
It is said that bullets were fired here during the Sikh era, the marks of which are still present on the dome, while the marks on the interior walls of the mosque were erased during the 2013 expansion. The Bullet Mosque was built during the reign of Akbar, hence it is called the Shahi Mosque. Its architectural style is also Mughal in which small bricks are used like the royal forts. During the period of the Sikhs, it was targeted by bullets, so that the Sikhs' fear would sit on the Muslims and the Sikh army's marksmanship training would also take place.
Although there is no history of this period, the marks of bullets inside the mosque make it clear that the Muslims took refuge in the mosque and the Sikhs did not allow them to enter the mosque. After this incident, this mosque continued to be used as a stable for the Sikhs for a long time, just like the Shahi Mosque of Lahore. However, after some time, two prominent Kashmiri Muslims made a donation in Ranjit Singh's court and made the mosque available. Till 1901, till the establishment of the Jamia Masjid of Rawalpindi, this was a mosque in which barely 20 people could pray, but in 1985, the adjoining house was bought and the mosque was expanded.

Assalamu Alaykum. This is very closed to our house. I used to go to my father's shop at Old Fort or Purana Qila. You reminded me my childhood. Love you Gilani Sahab. Actually today only four hours ago I was talking to one of my long lasting best friend who lived right across the street from this Masjid "Goliyan Wali Masjid". Now he moved to Scheme 3 near Chaklala but his Mother and brothers still live there. Tomorrow i will call him again and tell him about your this Vlog..
Anyway, the Imam Sahab seems to be unaware of the history as earlier you said that it was built during Shahanshah Akbar's time that is correct. Because when I was child or later during my teenage I visited this Masjid multiple time and even drank water. The water was not bitter, it was messed up by the arrogance of people who used to drop damaged Quran and used to dump them in this well. However the when they needed water they cleaned the well then they found out it has sweet water. It was always sweet but now this Imam type of mullas has propagated that because of the Holy Quran's miracle the water turned to sweet, actually they want to hide their heinous sin and making people forget what they did to Holy Scripture. Astaghfirullah even Imam used the other verses of Quran "Fiha Shifahun Linnas" (Is may insano kay leiya shifa hay) although these verses are for Honey which Allah (SWT) is telling human kind about the benefits of honey and says Fiha Shifahun linnas. Off course Quran is a miracle but do not add lies in it.

I was also disappointed by Maulana Sahib's words that he was sitting in a historical place but did not know anything about it. Thankfully, I had enough research on the mosque; otherwise he would have changed its history up and down.
Maulana Sahib declared it as a mosque of the era of Mahmud Ghaznavi, although according to the date of construction on the mosque, it is a mosque of Mughal Emperor Akbar and there is a difference of 600 years between the times of Mahmud Ghaznavi and Akbar.
In the same way, the chest-to-chest gazette he told me about the well and the verse about honey was linked elsewhere was also very disappointing. It is our tragedy that we are being taught religion by people who do not know about this.
We just pray to Allah to have mercy on us all.

Gilani sb, I m quiet sure about the building that you have chosen this time for your vlog that no other vlogger would have thought about making vlog on it.
Despite being a resident of Pindi, I have not even heard about this mosque, it is a far cry from seeing it .The most amazing thing is that you share the tour and details of each place so abundantly that there is no need for me to go there by myself because there is nothing left that i can explore and see further, and this is your legacy which I have not found ever anywhere else
