- I have a very busy life and I enjoy work. As a country boy, and farmers son I love to be on the farm. Even if it means hard work. So in-between my regular daily job, the race cars , house renovations and classic cars . I do work on the farm. Now that it has stopped raining we can harvest the hay..

Here in southern New Jersey, USA, farmers are now harvesting sweet corn, a staple for our 4th of July picnics. An enjoyable video. Thanks!

I grew up on a dairy/beef farm in the west of Ireland. Perhaps it was me being sensitive but I simply couldn't get over the idea of what we were doing to the animals, the cries of the mother cow when the calf was taken year after year. We had an all in one slaughter facility, more 'humane' than 99.99% of slaughterhouses (although I didn't know it back then)
I would still help out with machinery, sowing grass/clover etc. but the things I had to see still haunt me to this day, went vegetarian than vegan at the age of 9 (still am).
I went off to university and got my medical degree. My father died about 7 years ago and I got the farm (400ha), at first considered just selling it, but I came to understand the realities a bit more. I transitioned to just crops, potatoes and sometimes barley (in a good year).
It's a tough life on a farm and the realities are not shared or known about by many. Family run farms are dying slowly replaced by mega corporations, really sad to see.
Great videos, brought back many memories with my father.
Thanks Chris, and I can follow you...
Great job. Love that big Case International tractor

My favourite time has young lad was hay balling. All the bales had to be man handled onto the trailer then off then we built the hay stack that look and has big as a house. I still have the upper body muscles.

Everyday is a learning day. I never knew or even thought about adjustments to a bailer. Nice video, very calming.

Its sure is a beautiful country even though it rains alot @D3Sshooter
We just finished bailing our field. Round bales for us. Thousands of miles apart and doing the same tasks. Our hay goes to horses.
