While lady oh was helping him, she even lost her child due to this, if her child was saved she wouldn't be in the royal kingdom but somewhere safe for her kid.
i personally think that court lady oh's son is wang so, thats why the queen hated him so much- wang so may be stolen as a baby and court lady oh knew that wang so is in good hands

Edit: Even though they were all very sad endings, I don't think I would have it any other way. These deaths are what make this drama so memorable for me. The lesson they teach that not every the thing in life that starts happy will necessarily end happy. Sadness is a part of life which makes the happiness so exquisite.

I don’t think they gonna make season 2 because this was based from true history of Goryeo, if ever they will make season 2, that will just mess up the plot of the story, so it will not assure the ratings to still go up. Although I agree that this drama is so depressing.

All girls risk their lives to save their man. Chae Ryung follow all things Wang Won says. Seon Dook protect her first love and became a shield so Wang Eun will be safe. Won Hee jump for the reunification of three states, also do it for Baek Ah to be safe. Myung Hee loved Wang Wook with all her heart, even though she think those love will never return to her. Hae Soo support her man to become a king although she knew the consequences. This drama has a moral lesson, no discrimination, there's no gender in saving your loved ones.

The moment when Hae Soo died beside Jung instead of Wang So. They didn't had chance to meet before Hae Soo died...My heart broken into pieces and I kept thinking in my sleep how come the ending become the most saddest ending i ever seen 😭😭😭😭

There were actually 6 couples, the maid had also died from being beaten to death from doing a favor for one of the princes (Wang Won 9th prince)because she liked him, he ended committing suicide by drinking poison when he had found out about her death

If I were to rate the saddest couple ending:
1. Emperor and Lady Oh
I mean, I want to see their past. And I imagine it like on the historical comics but when the emperor and the person he loves didn't end up together. That type of story maybe.
2. Wang Eun and Soondeok
Maybe they can be the same ranking as the emperor's. Cause we all know that he just started to love her and they died protecting each other.
3. Wang So and Haesoo
Ok, let's give it up to our main couple. I think the painful part is because Haesoo didn't even see and tell Wang So they have a daughter until her last breath. And also the way their love story progress, it's very unique. But maybe they can have a chance to see each other again, If there will be a SECOND SEASON.
4. Wang wook and Lady Hae
I literally cried at the time when Lady Hae died. You can see at the last episode, when an image of Lady Hae flashed at Wook's mind before he died, you will know that he loved her all this time.
5. Baek ah and Woohee
I don't know. I also cried when she died. But I placed this last because I think that other 4 are sadder.
BTW THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE KDRAMA. BUT ALSO THE SADDEST

I cried the most for woo hee and baek ah . They had it all ,they could have stayed together for a long time . They even got married but then things had to happen . And the thing that pained me the most is , he saw her jump .. and will never forget

Well I say, 'broken hearts'-suits this heartbreaking series. Thirst of throne was so evil n fatal, love that ran deep was so heartbreakingly painful, I felt it hard. I felt it, felt it hard every single moment as those scenes pass by my teary eyes
unpopular opinion: wangeun and soondeok's death is the least tragic because they died together. Whereas, for other couples, the video showed 2 parts: the one person's death, and the other's grieving afterwards. That latter part, for me, is mainly what makes death in this series tragic.
I have watched too many k dramas and this the first one who make me feel cry from the bottom of my heart😔
Honestly I thought when Jieun's charecter died was the saddest part, besides the fact I'm starting to forget some parts because I was crying and all but Baekhyun's was also sad when he started to love her, they just get... Yeah. But JoongKi's charecter touched the princess and I'm out

This drama taught me a lot about life and love. You can't always have what you want, you should just accept it. Life isn't always full of happy endings. When everything wen't downhill, haesoo also did. She slowly turned quiet, she was the most joyful and funniest girl in the beginning but turned out to be the most quiet and sad girl in the end. I understand now why we can't have a season 2, it's a reality that we have to face. The drama focuses alot about Acceptance and maybe that's why we can't have a season 2.
This drama is one word, MEMORABLE. Thank you to all those for giving us this masterpiece.

I remember when I've watch this first time (the video), it remind me of my late sister.
