So who made the first pow planks?
The Digervarden ski was most likely used by the lapps/sámi or “skríðfinner” like the vikings used to call them.
Very plausible! I personally beleive that their first skiis developed were inspired by the samis snowshoes, which looks like a short ski and has fur underneath.. Only a personal theory tho, nothing concrete to back it up with :)

The "Kalvträsk ski" find is ~5200years old. Just sayin :D
The entire experience does not seemed to have changed much.
Except now we have these things called chair lifts, the greatest invention EVER!

Furr was used on snow shoes, not skis.
Fur was used on skis both in prehistory, and in still modern times in the Chinese Altai.
