This is an experimental thing I'm doing, might do more videos like this, most likely won't. I also don't know how I could have missed the Dutch railways being nationalised in the 1920s, not 1939...
Very nice. Very Jago Hazzard-esque. It truly is a beautiful station. If you're up for making more videos like this I'd love to see them; I know basically nothing about Dutch railway history so I'd love to learn if you're game for teaching.
The other station might be named the central station but it still has one leg up with the stationcode witch is Gv. The central station has Gvc, the shorter one is used for the more important station like Amsterdam Central has Asd en Utrecht Central has Ut
afaik, den haag HS was for a while the central station for den haag, even today you could in some ways consider it more "central" than den haag centraal. likely den haag centraal was built simply for practicality reasons, as a terminal station would be less troublesome to expand, and was closer to the city centre. additionally there was the space for one, as prior to den haag centraal, den haag staatsspoor was located there, and could be connected to the oude lijn, hofpleinlijn, and the den haag - gouda route. oh, and you probably already know by now, but the "Gv" stands for 's-Gravenhage, an official name originating from the 17th century.
