Most glitches: Have serious names and something bad happens
Metroid: Stupid door won’t open
Sphinx and the cursed mummy: Stupid door won't open
Luigi's mansion: Stupid door won't open
Farcry 3 have this
Speaking of Metroid, in the original NES game, don't input "Engage Ridley Motherfucker" as the password ESPECIALLY on the 3ds because before that one system update in 2016, the password rendered the handheld completely unusable
Gamers: MY ENTIRE MEMORY CARD IS GONE! ALL THOSE GAMES ARE NOW GONE. FIX IT, SONY! Sony: oops, well too bad. LMAO how did anyone forgive them for that one?
Malachi Owens some people were given a free game because of it.
Malachi Owens i usually drink bleach
Malachi Owens player: oh no, my Xbox won't work!
Microsoft: uh oh ... oh, this will fix it! let's give it a red ring to tell them it won't work!
player: why don't you just fix it?
Microsoft: bit this is more effective!
+Altairdabest 907 Sony had the lesser known yellow light of death
Malachi Owens What could've Sony done at that time?
Those legend of Zelda clips hurts my eyes
Yeah, because they're terrible quality and shouldn't have been used
Game slows down...slowly.. never ever do that again
Sean Muhsen lol
Once, I opened a Majora's Mask save. Usually, you get to start from a save point, but this time I came out of the clock tower riding Epona as a Goron for about ten seconds before the game crashed. It's like everything you couldn't do happened at once.
I bet those games were cursed by the damned Glitch Gremling
KGRAMR Fucking glitch gremlin.
KGRAMR the angry video game nerd?
GLITCH GLITCH GLITCH GLITCH PING PING PING GLITCH!
GET DOWN, GET DOWN
"It looks ugly, like your mom!"
-AVGN
I am so happy I have not experience any of this.
Whitedragonking Ocola i did :(
Whitedragonking Ocola I have a 500 hour save on skyrim but no lag at all
I probably would have lost my mind.
Me too.
ME THREE
they couldnt get higher res footage for zelda?
its like 10p quality lol
i thought that was just my computer's fault
bopp9 No it isn't.
I think they might have purposefully lowered the quality to avoid demonetization or copyright claims by Nintendo. It's also possible that they took the footage from someone else's video which will usually result in a decrease in quality
On the Wii it looked a bit better but that was the GC version
most people dont enjoy game breaking glitches
I was about to say well duh, but then I saw your name
My god Holmes, you've cracked the case!
Thanks Captain Obvious
Captain Obvious that was amazing can you help me find my shoes please
true players really hate game breaking giltches
Yeah, glitches like these will be the death of me. Literally.
Kazuto Kirigaya Literally me vs One more time
Imagine Lag?
Poor Kirito was just trying to save a bunch of ladies when one day, he encountered a game breaking glitch. Then his brain exploded......
What? I never did that.
coming from the guy who's very soul an hopes embodied himself to kill the final boss after he failed.
That Demo Disc almost made me cry. I had the memory card fully equipped with games, and innocent Beautiful Joe wiped me clean.
Come back next week to find out watch mojo's top 10 celebrities that went bankrupt in 1988..
I remember the bouncing boobs glitch in Soulcalibur 3 (shop)... Didn't break the game but it broke my mind as a child. That's when I became a man that day :^)
Wild One Gaming So you started paying taxes
Wild One Gaming well we have chun li's insane boob bounce in sfV. :)
King Tol yeah paying taxes on the meat he was Beating. Lmao
"glitch" ;^)
GenericWeeb Yeah wrong word :^). More of a reset animation or something :^)
If a game made my computer unable to start or wiped the entire hard drive clean, I would sue the company for MILLIONS.
Darius the fat Rex good luck with that (Don’t I know you from somewhere?)
yeah, the thing is that often when you instal a game their is some rules that you've to agree with to play and noone read them ;)
Y'all got any more of them pixels?
What about the PC port of Jet Set Radio having the word "Save" not properly punctuated in a line of code, meaning that you were UNABLE TO SAVE YOUR GAME unless you manually went in and fixed it yourself?
Karmas Camera That doesn't really fit the definition of a glitch
Call of duty glitched into the future.
Lmao yeah
Whenever i see glitches today, i'm always like "Good thing we have patches!". And then people tell me that back in the day, they didn't have glitches like that. I remember back in the day. i remember some of these very glitches. Some other ones not mentioned also came to mind.
The major difference? We were SO FUCKED if it happened. As if you could patch a snes game. xD and patching games on the pc wasn't exactly a simple affair.
Nah, it was so rare so it's almost doesn't matter. Game breaking bugs and simple laziness is different. Back in the 90-2000's serious bugs was almost fatal for most developers and publishers due to refunds to retailers and re-release, now unplayable game becomes so common so people can even wait for months before buying or playing their games without annoying bug or performance issues and gaming industry just forced do deal with it like it's normal.
I'm reasonably new to technology (mainly due to age), and from what I know, isn't it if a 90s PC game got a patch, wouldn't the user have to buy a new copy, with the box possibly saying "Version [X].[X].[XX]?"
Why are you pretending to be older then you are? Obviously your like 11 or 12 years old lol. That whole story is just so childish... Hahahaha “SO FUCKED!”
Make a better story! Maybe talk about roblox or how your dad got you a happy meal with extra fries instead
Of apples because you were a good boy this week.
glad i never experienced that on DKC2 - easily one of the best SNES games ever made!
1:23 Genji, is that you?
Bunny Pilot sounds like him lol
Cat Shark no , it's kilik
I bet you got "inspired" by Flippy for this list, didn't ya?
They ripped off Flippy 😒
+Sena Kashiwazaki I know, it's like they seen Flippy's video, and took most of his material.
Sena Kashiwazaki I know I'm not the only one that notice
they actually included one of flippys videos but didn't even credit the right person
yea hell they copied FILLPPY lazy fucks
The Swingset on GTA IV also has a game-breaking glitch. In some cases, if the character is hanging onto the swingset and is just about to get 'launched' into the air, it'll completely lock-up the game.
That's not game-breaking though... that's just a crash
I think you have to limit the frame rate to 60
What I find interesting about the Other M and Skyward Sword glitches is that the cause of them both involve desert areas of the game. So it makes me wonder if Nintendo at that time just thought it would be funny to lock people’s games during the desert worlds for whatever reason.
worst glicth ever: your gfs little brother saving over your 40-70 hours of ff7 saves
SeriousBeats That's why when ever me and my sister babysit for my cousin I hide all my game consoles.
don't like ff7 but feel your pain
SeriousBeats everything unlocked on res 4, handcannon, PRL. Little bro saves over it. WELP THERE GOES ABOUT A HUNDRED HOURS OF WORK.
I'm sorry for your loss
that's ok, game is easy and sucks anyway. xD
Shoutout to Soul Caliber 3. So many hours spent playing that game
I've heard of a literal game breaking glitch in Donkey Kong 64 which if done correctly renders the whole cartridge unplayable.
werdman24 Wasn't that why all copies of the game had to be sold with a special accessory?
Krista Holmes damfuq
You forgot Skyward Sword's infamous goron glitch that would make you unable to continue the game if you talked to him right after speaking to the Desert Dragon.
Nintendo made a downloadable app from the Nintendo Shop Channel and accepted SD cards with the game on it to fix it.
It was nearly the end of the game too so you had dozens of hours put into the game at this point.
Am I the only one to notice that #1 is actually less fatal than #2?
You guys left out the extremely frustrating "Save game multiple times and break the game" glitch for Kotor 2, where in the event you decide to follow the game's helpful tip and save often and frequently, and then decide to load those saved games just as frequently, you break the game, halting things from cutscenes, to progression at gaining character influence, to actually progressing key events at all, such as the Onderon throne room battle!
I had a glitch in that game where I died immediately after loading on Xbox One.
Can't believe you guys stole Flippy's footage and credited the wrong person over his footage...
mrsaintsgodzilla21 that's just sad they stole half of his ideas
mrsaintsgodzilla21 when i saw the video, I thought about flippy and I just thought about plagiarism ... it's so unreasonable that you can not seem to know the name of the person who did it and not even think about asking him authorization and after, it is said to be intelligent
They fixed it in annotations but I think they should've taken it down and fixed the video itself.
Who cares?
@@the_mushi89 How would you feel if a popular channel took your content and credited the wrong person? I don't know about you but I would be furious.
Its the work of the Game Glitch Gremlin.
Baz The Storyteller Gremlins! :D
How about a big ol' bottle of glitch?!
I remember having The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but my family never got very far into the game, so thank goodness I didn't experience either of the two glitches present in the game on the list.
I've had that corrupted save glitch from Soul Calibur III before, shit's a nightmare.
I remember the viewtiful joe thing. I remember thinking "wth where is everything?"
I remember coming across a glitch in Alien Isolation where you were in the spinning pod with the xenomorph and had to make it to an escape pod. The door would open but there was an invisible wall or something that wouldn't let me in, and left me forever trapped in the room with the xenomorph.
After countless deaths and hair-pulling frustration trying to figure out how to fix it, I just ended up replaying a large chunk of the gameplay and it fixed it. That was a pain in the ass.
Also, as for Twilight: the bridge can be bypassed, though only with other glitches, and in some versions of the same (not sure if it’s the one the video mentions), the cannon sequence can still be advanced, as the NPC you need to speak to is still there, just invisible.
The wii actually can download patches for games. The only one they ever did this for though was Skyward Sword. You have to download it from the shop yourself, but it's definitely there. Go check.
Was that footage really the best they could find for a Zelda game? I could barely even tell what I was looking at.
The Castle Crush glitch used to give me nightmares when I was younger. The pink screen that would sometimes bulge through the pixels mess freaked me out.
I had the Madd Dogg glitch from GTA SA in my very first save file from when I was a child. At the time I had no idea why it did this and I would even not believe people when they would tell me they completed the game. And then I finished the game multiple times on multiple platforms so I started wondering why the hell was that mission impossible to complete in my first save file. It was only in 2014 that I heard about it and realised it was a glitch, after all those years of confusion during my childhood.
One Glitch was when Smash Bros for Wii U was realesed. It was when the game updating and when it's done it freeze i had to restarted and it broked my flash memory intern on Wii U. so my Wii U was damaged totaly.
+Negnav123 Feel bad for you :(
I had to send in My Wii u to get fixed. Smash still freezes from time to time but I just have to pop it back in and it works fine. Only freezes on multiplayer too
Negnav123 D: OH GOD
Some of those game recordings are in some HORRIBLE quality....(most notably the Legend of Zelda one)...
Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour had the "SCUD bug" which allowed you to launch unlimited superweapon SCUD missiles over and over and over again.
It was noticed very late after the game was out of support, but it was such a menace and ruining the multiplayer that EA went back to fix it.
From what I remember, the Soul Calibur card wipe only happened on third party memory cards. On a SONY card, at worst your file would corrupt.
I remember going out and buying a seconhand card just to save my file from Soul Calibur III on exclusively, JUST in case. :D
WWF No Mercy was the worst ..after finishing any title campaign it would rest, and you would have to start over...
I was just thinking the same thing, no mercy constantly erased everything on me too and was so frustrating . So funny that you mentioned that game
I had that issue too. Heck, it reset on me in the middle of a game.
no honorable mentions??
Mark Sapigao dont you mean dishonorable mentions?
kool killer ohh right!
Dishonorable Mentions: MISSINGNO, Jax and Daxter Infinite Save Glitch, and Age of Empires Name Glitch.
Cartridge tilting (any N64 game)
I still remember my first game breaking glitch. The Nintendo version of the Teen Age Mutant Ninja turtles game where it was impossible to get passed the sewer level because there was an impossible gap you had to jump. I only figured out YEARS LATER that it wasn't just me. It was because they added ceiling that wasn't there in the arcade version and it was literally impossible to make the jump without hitting your head on the ceiling.
"Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life" is a treasure trove of game-breaking glitches.
They always know what i want to watch
Why is that Twilight Princess footage so low quality...?
It was on the wii.
WOW! I always wondered as a kid why all my save files got erased, but after seeing number 2 it makes sense. If only I could stop my past self from playing that lol.
Saving glitch for Jak X: Combat Racing for the PS2 really ticked me off because I'd kept losing all of my saved game data and had to start all over to beat the game.
I remember playing Resident evil 6 on ps3 which caused my ps3 to not work and I fixed it 3 time before breaking the RE6 disk and bought a new one out of anger
omar Balooshi what do you think happened?
Yellow Light of Death?
good job watchmojo, you stole fl1ppy's content and didn't even credit him properly
BeefySaintHD They must've changed it because now it says " Activision ".
Finally. The list it took you so long to make
I was a victim of #1.
Also, during Star Fox 64 Venom 2 (alternate last level) on N64, when you defeated Star Wolf, there is a glitch, where for whatever reason, Fox doesn't enter the main villain's base and just circles around it. You can restart levels by pausing but because during the infiltration becomes a short unskippable in-game cut scene, you can't pause anymore. That meant restarting the game again. Even though it's a short game, this glitch is only present on that level and not only is kind of difficult because it's an alternate path, you probably put effort for a high score. It's unknown why happens, but it's random and extremely rare.
5:50 you stole from flippy watchmojo!
Noble_Slip no they didn’t
@@the_pigs_have_rebelled yes they did, they even credited the wrong person
CounterTerrorist the annotation says Credit To Flippy so they didn’t steal anything.
I know this video is from three years ago so my comment isn’t really going to change anything, but for anyone who’s looking at this comment, listen. WATCH MOJO MOST LIKELY DID NOT “STEAL” FLIPPY’S VIDEO ON 5:49. I think what happened is that the people who worked at WatchMojo accidentally put the wrong name in the “credits” place. They even credit him in an annotation for crying out loud. So before you type that furious comment about how WatchMojo “stole” his video, just know it was probably a legitimate mistake on WatchMojo’s part.
Sony gave me a free game as a result of the PlayStation Underground 2004 Holiday Demo disc glitch. I got a free copy of Wild Arms 3 and my sister got a free copy of Sly 2: Band of Thieves so to say they did nothing is inaccurate.
Davis Comic Finds stupid question but do you still have that 2004 Holiday demo disc?
Probably have it somewhere.
Because i totally have data that is undeletable that i need to reformat. .-.
Sly 2 is my fav. I consider that good compensation
I recall that GameCube memory cards or at least some of them were terrible because for no particular reason all the save data would just be deleted.
01:20 Yeah, I've experienced this plenty of times. Mostly happened when I was playing that mode where you're created character was the main lead. Glad I beat it once.....
if sonic 06 (the entire game) is not here.....my next game sonic 2017 is gonna be horrible
+Sonic The Hedgehog I mean I saw the 2017 trailer and it looked pretty good.
Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic 06 runs on a glitches up gameplay, it doesn't really count as game-breaking if it was done intentionally.
Sun bro No I mean the gameplay. And sonic boom didn't even feel close to sonic and was filled with bugs and glitches.
Top 10 bee movie memes
No. Just. No.
missingno.
Oblivion would also lag sometimes, as well as Skyrim, but they didn't do it the whole time you were playing, although I thought it was just normal and it just had to load the new area because it was so big.
I was the first to discover a glitch in Super Mario 64 DS. It was a glitch that happens on Snowman's Land were if you were playing as Mario and got blown off the snowman twice and got your hat back both times more hats appear. The amount of hats double for each time you kill the Mr Blizzard that had your hat. This glitch can lag the game if there are a lot of hats on screen and can even crash the game if there are too many hats.
They ripped off flippy
Squirtle Master salty
5:55 You credited wrong, that video belongs to Fl1ppy.
I survived the whole Twilight Princess without the Eldin Bridge. I only saw it in the credits part. I never realized that was the stone blocking the Cave of Ordeals until the credits was shown.
Nice list flippy I mean watch mojo
gonna steal flippy's video?
Who?
Flippy (a youtube channel focused mostly on Saints Row) made 2 great videos detailing a bunch of game breaking glitches in console games. I suggest people go there instead.
His videos were way better
who the hell is flippy?
David 2035 Really dude? You're gonna do that now?
Thanks for stealing Flippy's video title/footage. Didn't even credit the right UA-camr when you did use his footage.
I had one similar to the soul calibur memory card glitch on my old Play Station One back then.
When I played Digimon World 2003 (Digimon World 3 in the US) it may occur that the game just crashes while saving.
This was really rare and not only wipe the Memorycard, but rendered it completely useless. I lost 2 Cards (one original Sony Memory Card and one cheep 3rd Party card).
It was a great game, but I never finished it because of this glitch.....
There's a game ending glitch in Chrono Trigger where you load the game in at the end of time and are outside of the fence and can never get back in no matter what. Sucks really bad.
You showed Missingno but didn't mention it?
Well it was famous and made the game bug a lot but you had to purposly use a rare bug at a precise frame at the right pixel to come to a zone that you could escape. And when you'd restart the game Missingno would disappear and leave no harm to the game (most of the time) except if you saved in the bugged zone. So not too much of "game breaking" bug compared to all the others.
It never harmed my copy of "Red". But it sure was fun cloning all my items. Though I never battled other people as it would be unfair.
stanford 95060 I've heard the glitch can brick your game, and I've even heard one instance where it became sentient and tried to assimilate the multiverse.
mariic2 It broke my Pearl game, had to restart and delete my 600 hr save
flippy much?
Flying Toaster Its got me pretty mad about that. They didn't even credit him. This is such a cancerous channel.
TheHumanSloth they did fucking credit him learn to read annotations
Here's one: A ton of disks for the game "Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon" came with a glitch installed on them which prevented the game from actually cataloging an egg from the first speedway in the starting world. This would go unnoticed until the very end of the game, which requires having all eggs and gems to access, effectively ending the game early without getting to the true ending. Restarting the game did nothing as the problem was on the disk itself, so the glitch would keep happening.
I've heard of a glitch in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. It's located in the Dinosaur level, and if you try skipping through the dialogue of one of the rodentine professors towards the end of it, the game would crash and all your progress would be lost. An actual glitch I came to was in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on the PS2. When I went to save my progress in the fortress of the elves of Murkwood, just before sending the barrels of dwarves down the river, my game would disappear and I would be forced to start all over again. From what I've learned, every copy of this game on the PS2 was afflicted with the same thing, rendering the game unplayable.
Damn sony dropped the ball a whole lot.
7 of these facts were ripped off from flippy
Like all of watchmojo's lists.
Is there a video of top 10 pisspoor UA-cam channels? Because this would be in the top 3 without doubt.
John Nemeth It should be #1 on that list.
In Age of Empires: Age of Kings for the DS, if your DS system username is less than 4 letters, then playing a skirmish match and saving and quitting mid-match will brick the cartridge.
Also there's a jump in Xen in Half-life 1 where if you miss it just barely, your autosave will spawn you over a pit so you have to load a regular save - hope you made one!
The original Metroid "Offensive Password" glitch. Entering a handful of codes, all of which contained offensive words would cause all kinds of mayhem on your NES cartage, from making areas glitch out to damaging the ROM data of the game. One of these codes would even kill your NES. This problem continued on the GBA re-release, and E-shop digital downloads, turning their respective systems into bricks.
In the New Spyro Trilogy, one of the skateboarding mini-games would slow down its frame rate gradually every time you restart the mini-game. It'll stay like that through the entire game play until you restart the entire game and boot it back up.
I remembered as a kid when I got PS2 Holiday Disk 2004. I played every game on it except viewtiful joe 2 and tak. When I played both of them in 2005, I lost everything :(
I had an insane bug in Return To Castle Wolfenstein where in one mission you must sneak around the area, past two towers, into a tunnel and infiltrate a base to jump into a cargo truck. But one glitch caused my save to start exactly when I get spotted so every time I opened it I lost. But for some reason it made every single save in the entire game become that save so all of them became the game over save
There was also a glitch in New Vagas where if you used fire breath ammo for the shotgun your game would eventually slow to a crawl. I experienced this in both the PS3 and PC version.
I remember the final boss stage going black and flipping in a continuous circle until the fight was over on Killer Instinct for the computer back in the 90s. God, that was annoying.
I feel like I lucked out on Myth II. Never had the HD wipe happen. I still play it to this day.
If somebody still remembers the game Demon Stone, in the PC version there was a pretty common glitch when in chapter 8 you had to kill the trolls with fire after incapacitating them, but they just wouldn't die. I replayed the same save several times, started a new game twice and it still wouldn't help.
"You're underground now, there's no going back." He warned you.
In the base PS2 Jak and Daxter racing game just saving the game could corrupt the data and since it auto-saves, your chances of losing your progress rise exponentially. They fixed it in the Greatest Hits edition though.
You deserve so much more recogniztion
There's a glitch with an Age of Empires DS game where if you use a save file of a certain length, and exit out of the game while saving, it'll completely brick the cartridge. It'll become completely unusable lol. It happened to me as a kid. I always thought I must have dropped the cartdridge or something, because it didn't read that there was even a game in the DS. It was somewhat recent that I found out that the game had such an enormous glitch.
A 2007(?) game called Venetica had at LEAST two different game breaking glitches. One early in the game and another about halfway through. And I'm not sure if you could avoid them or if they were random.
Still a lot of honorable mentions here. We need the 2nd video :)
When I was around 12 or so, I was messing around with a GameShark and I _somehow_ ended up corrupting all four save files on my copy of Goldeneye. I have no idea how the hell I did that, but to this day I refuse to ever use any hacking devices like that ever again.
Kingdom Under Fire, while fun would glitch like crazy on me. If I didn't do a certain mission in order, it would get choppy then freeze. The Suffering 2 also had huge glitches where it just continue to load with no progress or freeze. Aliens Colonial marines is now infamous, but I remember playing it and jumping to the Queen battle randomly, was walking down a hall it froze and suddenly in an area I've never seen and the Queen Alien trying to kill me.
There's the lumiose city save glitch too, which i believe was somewhat random in retail releases of X and Y? I haven't had a pokemon game since SoulSilver, so I've not encountered it myself.
The ice cream factory save in gta Vice City must have been the cause of my corrupt save. Never knew for years that it was a common glitch
I can imagine big brother coming home and asking what happened to all of his memory on his PS4 memory card and little brother sat there helpless explaining that it wasn’t him... little brother was dead ass serious too.
Epic Mickey had a killer glitch. It’s been a few years since I found the glitch but I believe if you’re going through the game killing everything (using whatever the green paint was, acid I guess?) and late in the game accept a side quest, it would cause a bug where the game thinks you already fought the blob and then as you try to change worlds the game saves (so you’re stuck in the transition) and then crashes as soon as you get to the new world. Cost me hours of play. Disney did give me a free Tron video game to make up for it though. But yeah...this glitch was a massive game breaker.
For about 3 times, all my saves in the memory card were deleted im my PS2, and I never knew why that happened.. But I've always played Soucalibur 3.. Now I think I know the reason of that.
