I am so glad you decided to start a podcast. I am also a plus-size knitter and I love podcasts but there is a definite lack of younger plus-sized podcasters. I actually have a sweater quantity of yarn sitting in my stash specifically for the Radiate Sweater. I love yours, despite the gauge issues. I actually like the fit you have right now. It definitely looks good for lounging.
Hello! I searched plus size knitters and saved a few of your videos to my watch later list. I haven’t watched them yet as I thought I would try your first video. You are adorable and I enjoyed your content and format. Looking forward to working my way through your videos.
Whitney!!!! Loved your first episode!! You were so relaxed and clear and it was a pleasure to listen to your talk. I really enjoyed the format to, it’s very nice to watch something a little different to the usual set up! I think your jumper looks really lovely, even if it wasn’t how you intended it, it definitely deserves to be an out the house garment! Looking forward to episode 2! Xxx
Oh my gosh, thank you SO much Laura!!!! I'm so chuffed that you enjoyed my video and I definitely feel like I'm doing something right after getting such a lovely comment from you! You're one of my favourite podcasters, and I definitely felt inspired to try my hand at it after watching all your videos. I'm already getting excited to make my second episode, so I better get to working on my wip so I can do it. Thank you for your support!
Great show Whitney , it’s so refreshing to see a plus size knitter. Also a different format is refreshing. Keep the book recommendations coming , I also love books
Came for the size inclusivity and stayed for the in-depth and insightful description of your knitting experience, books, and the eschewing of the need to speed knit and produce many new WIPs and finished projects. What a fantastic first episode! Looking forward to watching more! ps. I also "audition" books by taking them out at the library and sometimes will buy if it's an absolute love ☺
I am so happy to find your podcast. I watch a lot of wonderful knitting podcasts. Seeing a sweater that fits a size small or medium and looks lovely on them does not mean it is going to fit properly and look nice on a person who wears a 2x or larger. Your sweater looks fantastic on you and is very pretty. The one thing I have found about all the sweaters I have made in size 2x is that while I love the ease in the chest of the sweater the arms and body after separating for the sleeves are always to darn big.
Hello! Glad to see you are joining the ranks of us plus size knitters podcasting! I agree Very Pink Knits is my go to for learning a new thing or showing it to someone else :D good luck!
Love love your sweater 🥰. Thank you so much for sharing your time and your talents and inspiration. I am not a knitter but I do crochet. You are a joy to watch me listen to. Enjoy 😊.
Hi from Phoenix AZ. I'm not a knitter but I hope to one day. I'm a plus size crocheter. FINALLY! someone who is also plus size like myself. Thank you for podcasting 😍. New subbie here, I really appreciate you.👍🏾✊🏾
I love Loops & Threads. Shiny is so pretty. Wonderful yarn. I am using a number 8 needles and it is a good size for Loops & Threads. I also have Caron shiny yarn.
Yes! Plus-sized representation in knitting! You have a lovely, positive outlook on knitting "mistakes" and as a fellow avid reader, I enjoyed that you included, "What I'm reading." A great first episode and look forward to the next one! :)
Yay! So glad I found you and yes, we do need podcasts for plus size knitters too! I love your sweater and think you did a great job, even with all the problems. However, I think it looked great as is. It's nice to have loose sweaters too, as some like that. But you have to make it the way that works for YOU. So great job and DO fix it the way you will want to wear it. I look forward to your next podcast.
I agree! I love Staci & her tutorials are so helpful. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for helping those of us in the plus size community! I love your sweater! Will definitely try to make that one. ♥️♥️♥️
I love the sweater that you’re wearing, it looks really cute on you as is! I also love the idea of using a heavier weight yarn for a flowier fabric, and I can’t stand fitted sleeves, they do not camouflage my bat wings.
Hey welcome to our fibre community from a fellow Podcaster and Canadian too! Love your sweater! Great podcast, i subscribed under my channel name (this one) as well as my private/tv name that I use to watch all my podcasts on too. I hit all the “bells and whistles”. Glad I hit it lucky and found you right at episode 1 even ;)
Hello Whitney, I just recently watched your video on plus size patterns and decided to watch some of your first episodes. I loved this one and talking about your knitting beginning. I have been knitting 60+ years and love hearing these stories. Your sweater is beautiful the way it is. I don't know if you have ever done the elastic thread in it or not but I think you should leave it the way it is. By the way I am not a plus size but I think the lose fit looks better on anyone than a tight one anyway. I am an avid reader myself and enjoyed that part as well. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for this video. I saw that pattern but was afraid because I am also plus-sized and have trouble trusting how they will look on a larger body and this looks so comfy and great.
I thought I was the only person who test-drives a book through the library before buying! Thank you for this great podcast. I look forward to seeing the next one! I think your jumper is beautiful - proof that, sometimes, the unexpected outcome can be a nice surprise (even if you decide to rework it so it's closer to your original vision). : )
A couple months later I can safely say that I was lazy and just left the sweater as is 😂 But I’ve been wearing it a lot, so I guess that means I like it just the way it is
I just came across your video and I enjoyed it very much! I, too, love to read and I find myself fighting about should I read or knit? Such a fun dilemma!
Whitney, you are a delight! I very much like your approach to a knitting podcast -- a thoughtful, comfortable pace that is SO welcoming. Although impressive and inspiring, I often struggle to really connect with ultra-productive knitters who seem to finish a sweater each week. 🤷🏼♀️
What a great first episode, you were a pleasure to listen to. Love that you're not afraid to roll with a mistake - that's what makes everything we make unique in my opinion. I'll have to check out that novel, I absolutely adored Eleanor & Park also by Rainbow Rowell. I agree with you on her skill for writing distinctive dialogue. Looking forward to episode 2!!!
Thank you Maryellen! I always make some kind of mistake in my knitting, and you're right that's what makes our projects unique :) I got into the Simon Snow trilogy by first reading Fangirl -- Rainbow Rowell said she loved writing the main character's fictional fanfic so much that she wrote a whole book of it, which was Carry On -- the first Simon Snow book. It's such a cool thing for her to do as an author.
Welcome to the podcast world! Good job on your first episode, you are a natural. I think that doing a plus size knitting podcast is amazing. Good luck!
G’day Whitney from South Oz 🇦🇺 your podcast popped up today so I went back to your 1st podcast and how refreshing 👍🏻 well done. Have subscribed and onto catching up your other episodes. By the way I liked that hem on your jumper best at end podcast video 👍🏻
Totally enjoyable podcast. At one time I was a monogamous knitter--then I started volunteering at a NFP yarn shop and now I have more WIPS and yarn than I've ever had in my life. Love the deviation of your format from what everyone else seems to do. I really don't care that someone spent a hundred dollars last week on yarn. Do I want to hear about independant dyers? Yes. Do I want to see shelves upon shelves of your yarn that you are doing nothing with except collecting? No. So, I appreciate your pattern review. Thank you for the book reviews. When I was teaching Jr. High, I was a big fan of Rainbow Rowell's, but retirement and the pandemic has caused me to read what I have at home. I need to return to her. Please continue sharing your love of knitting and books!
Great first episode. A librarian and a knitter ..... you are my new friend. Enjoyed your format it was refreshing to show affordable yarn, and to recommend library use before purchasing. Opinion time, I like your sweater the way it is. It has a lovely relaxed flow. Looking forward to your next podcast.
Welcome to the “podcast world” There are lots of “knitting and sewing” podcast. I love your combo or “Knitting and reading”. WHen I’m knitting a sea of jersey (stockinette), I love to read at the same time. Your description of the Rainbow Rowel book was so good, It got me curious. I am going to buy it for sure (I doN’ t rent from the library as I read too slow and in Quebec, most books at the library are in French. I read in English to practice that language). Can’t wait for episode two.
I am so glad i found your podcast, Whitney. I really liked the pattern review that you did for the sweater, and how you shared the hits & misses because most other podcasters don't do these, and these are the mistakes that a new knitter to wearables is likely to make... I will be eagerly looking ahead to your future episodes.... PS: i am also a slow monogamous plus-sized knitter, so i can totally understand all that you said 😊🤗
Aww thank you so much Anvita! I'm so happy you liked my first episode! I definitely wanted to structure it in a way that was different than other knitting podcasts out there. Cheers to slow monogamous knitting!
Loved your podcast. I haven’t knitted a sweater for myself yet. I’m also plus size and didn’t think I’d find a sweater in my size. Ty for taking the time to podcast. I also like reading books.
Aww thank you so much Fran! I’m so happy I’ve shown you that plus size sweater patterns are out there 😊 Believe me when I say there are actually a lot of plus size patterns available! Some of my favourites are designed by Knitatude
So happy to find your vlog. You did such an excellent job presenting your information. I'm at the other end of the knitting experience, 83 and knitting like mad to use up my stash. I am also a plus size knitter and have had a variety of experiences in adjusting patters. Looking forward to following your journey.
I am so so glad I saw this podcast come up in the right nav. Love your message, projects, optimism, smile and generosity. Thank you for putting the effort into sharing this with us. I find it very difficult to make current fashions my own due to my size/shape. You've inspired me in so many ways.
Elastic thread has definitely been my friend. I also use it if the neckline tends to stretch out. I am not a plus size but still enjoyed your podcast. I am also a monogamous knitter, and also like your book recommendations.
Hi Whitney. I really enjoyed your podcast. You did a great job! I also knit that radiate sweater and had a similar experience, not the best yarn choice, a bit too baggy for my taste etc. I think your color choices were great! I also love your book review / recommendations. I just put first book on hold at my library. Looking forward to Episode #2.
I am a big person too. My stomach is bigger than my bust. I have never made a sweater! I don;t feel confident enough to try. I love the blue sweater on you. It looks nice.
Whitney! Welcome to the podcast world!! I really enjoyed your first episode and I think you will add so much to our knitting community. I LOVED your last segment about books because I also love to read and I’m always looking for the next book to read or listen to! ❤️❤️❤️ looking forward to more episodes.
This pattern has been in my queue for a long time. I have the yarn but I just haven't knit it yet. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the pattern and finished sweater!
You did a great job and I enjoyed your first podcast. I think the colors and yarn you chose for your sweater made it quite appealing. I am looking forward to your next one.
Thank you so much Karen! I definitely loved the colour combo, and I bought the yarn around Easter, so that explains why I was drawn to pastel yarn haha!
Hi from another plus size podcaster! You do you're own thing, there aren't any rules 😉 I've got that radiate sweater in my Ravelry list so excited to see how it might look on me as opposed to the beautiful and slinky Joji! I actually like it with the loose ribbing, I might do that deliberately with mine. Excellent podcast! X
Great first episode. Listened while weaving in ends on a crochet blanket. What is your cat's name? I have black whose name is Dagmar. Our daughter named her many years ago...💖💖
I love the sweater that you’re wearing, it looks really cute on you as is! I also love the idea of using a heavier weight yarn for a flowier fabric, and I can’t stand fitted sleeves, they do not camouflage my bat wings.
This was definitely needed in the knit world, there are not enough plus sized anythings in my opinion. Well done! looking forward to #2 xx
Thank you so much Cat! I definitely wanted to add more plus size representation
I am so glad you decided to start a podcast. I am also a plus-size knitter and I love podcasts but there is a definite lack of younger plus-sized podcasters. Your sweater looks great. Love the color combo. Looking forward to more episodes. Thank you.
Oh lovely 🍁 Canada 🍁 I'm glad I found you ❤. Hope you can teach me the art of knitting. I have been trying for years to have this skill.
I love Loops & Threads. Shiny is so pretty. Wonderful yarn. I am using a number 8 needles and it is a good size for Loops & Threads.

Hi! You have a great presence and delivery. Keep it up. I will include you in my LYS newsletter.
Hi Whitney, I enjoyed your content and the ease with which you speak in front of the camera. Looking forward to what you have coming. up.

I love the shade of blue you used for your sweater. You mentioned it was one of your favorites and I think it's a great shade for you too!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Lovely podcast, I’m a monogamous knitter too so love your podcast format and as a book lover so pleased you’ve combined knitting and books. 😊
Thank you so much! Yes, I wanted to bring my own schtick to my podcast and talking about what I’m currently reading made perfect sense!
Great podcast
I am glad that I found your podcast/video.

Stumbled across your video. Love a plus size podcast, awesome!! Can't wait for your next episode. I'm a new knitter, still learning.
Great video! as a plus size knitter myself, I finally feel seen! Thank you
Elastic thread has definitely been my friend. I also use it if the neckline tends to stretch out.
I am not a plus size but still enjoyed your podcast. I am also a monogamous knitter, and also like your book recommendations.
Thankyou for this ...we definitely need more plus sized representation in knitting! Looking forward to episode 2😊
As a plus-sized knitting bibliophile, I'm happy to have found your podcast. 😊
Hi Whitney. I really enjoyed your podcast. You did a great job! Great first episode! Love your honesty with your knitting mistakes. I know I have made quite a few. Looking forward to your next episode.
Loved your podcast! Please continue to share your knitting and book recommendations with us! ❣️
I am a big person too. My stomach is bigger than my bust. I have never made a sweater! I don;t feel confident enough to try. I love the blue sweater on you. It looks nice.

Absolutely here for plus size knitters!!
So excited that I found you!! You're amazing and cannot wait to see more!!
I watch/listen to a lot of knitting vlogs and Whitney, this is legit well done. I'm here for it. I hope you keep doing what you're doing!
This pattern has been in my queue for a long time. I have the yarn but I just haven't knit it yet. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the pattern and finished sweater!
Hi Whitney. Very nice episode. I'm also plus size knitter. You encourage me to record my own podcast. Thank you
I love your first episode - really great to see patterns on diverse body types, and I love your in depth dive into the pattern :)
@@knittedbywhitney Seasons do seem to "help" us choose our colors when we are starting a new project. Lol
This is such a great podcast! I'll definitely be a regular viewer :)
Yay! Thank you so much Kelsey!
You read my mind I definitely thought that I would love to see some plus size knitting podcasts
Great first podcast!
Hi Whitney! Your sweater is lovely.
I think your sweater is lovely, you should be proud.
Enjoyed your first podcast and love the jumper. Personally I don’t think it needs any elastic - I like the look and flow of it x
Thank you Lorraine! I'm definitely tempted to just leave it as is hee hee
I am drinking chi right now :) And I think reading is sexy too! I love to read.
Great first episode. Listened while weaving in ends on a crochet blanket. What is your cat's name? I have black whose name is Dagmar. Our daughter named her many years ago...💖💖
His name is Bennet! My boyfriend and I also have two tortie cats named Klondike and Nugget, but they’re not as easy to get on camera haha
THANK YOU!!!!
Monogamous knitters unite!!
You’re a much faster monogamous knitter Kendra! I don’t stand a chance of keeping up with you 😉
Loved watching this video. Since you love books with your yarn, I’d recommend you check out the Yarn Hellions podcast!
I am a plus size knitter and designer and I do a UA-cam podcast too. In Spanish.
What genre is rainbow rowel?
I think the fit is good
I love your reason for starting your podcast.
I am also a slower knitter.
Can't wait to see and watch more podcasts from you. ❤
Thank you for your support! I'm so happy you enjoyed it and I can't wait to make more episodes :)
I would like to use the colors in your sweater in a shawl
I love the sweater that you’re wearing, it looks really cute on you as is! I also love the idea of using a heavier weight yarn for a flowier fabric, and I can’t stand fitted sleeves, they do not camouflage my bat wings.
