    It's a pity that youtube allows me to give only single like because I would like to give double or even triple like to these videos!

    while binding to sloped member how do i control the slope i need the component to be straight which is start x= end x or start y = end y

      Tough to say without seeing what you are working on. But you can attempt to force the orientation to global Z by saving the attributes with that (up direction on the position tab). I recommend contacting your local support with your actual situation.

    how do you enable custom block mirroring, is there any formula for that? I have a component and when I mirror it, it doesn't respect the alignment of the secondary object (in this case they are misaligned)

    Hello Trimble! Another question. What does construction plane do inside component editor??? What is the mean purpuse/function of construction plane inside component editor? How to use it?

    • @TrimbleTeklaDave
      @TrimbleTeklaDave 3 роки тому

      Construction planes can be made magnetic, so that the handles of any parts will 'stick' to them and move if the plane moves. You can then bind and manipulate the plane, rather than binding each object individually.

      @@TrimbleTeklaDave Thanks for your response. I'm not familiar with Tekla, just learning. Honesty, I came to Tekla from Inventor. Testing different options in Tekla inside component editor and specificly with these construction planes it was very confusing for me that construction plane is being NOT highlighted while selecting this plane, and because I didn't know it I was expecting that this plane MUST be highlighted to select it such as all other planes, but not. For somebody blanco in Tekla, like me, it was not intuitively clear. That's why!

    I would like to know how to bind to the bounding box of a circular part cut.

    I created haunch with stiffener custom component, if this applies at other end of beam (like mirror) then the weld is not getting properly as per created side.there is option for this then plz advice me.
    Thanks

      What version are you in? I just tested this in the latest update for 2019i, and the weld is created correctly. Make sure you have the latest service packs for your version. If this continues, you can try to create a polygon weld instead where you can actually bind it's handles.

    Can you put all of these component videos in a playliste. Cant find all of them.

      Hi Michael, I don't have a playlist of just custom component videos but all my tips and tricks videos are on this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLYbj2JlSfwmapeG7859jzVVcF461Ghxkq.html

    can we put logical relationship in formula, let say if D1>2", become 1.5", or similar case

    • @TrimbleTeklaDave
      @TrimbleTeklaDave 4 роки тому

      Yes, you can develop if/then statements in the formula fields. There is some available help here: teklastructures.support.tekla.com/2020/en/det_functions_in_variable_formulas

    Hello, a question! When I bind a bolting inside the component the component symbol turns yellow so I do something wrong, but what? What can it be? What are the restrictions while binding a boltings? Which planes is the best to chose and which plane I should definitively avoid to chose while binding a bolting?

    • @TrimbleTeklaDave
      @TrimbleTeklaDave 3 роки тому

      The binding itself will not cause a component symbol to turn yellow, that just means that the bolt is close to an edge, based on the File > Settings > Options for components (1.2 X diameter in the US environment). There are no 'best' or 'wrong' bindings for bolts, it all depends on the situation.

      @@TrimbleTeklaDave okey thanks, I have not enough knowledge about Tekla, am just a starter. But the weird situation is as follows: do test of some modifications of the component, while there is no bolting in it everything is okey, symbol stays green, sinds I put some boltings into it with bindings, the symbol turns yellow, BUT(!!) the most weired is that when I do something with this component in the model, so move the beam, of modify the beam or column, the symbol turns again to green. I can not identify what the problem can be.

      @@victorstrembitskiy7171 Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the cone color. If you check the bolt dimensions and locations, and they are where they are supposed to be, then move on. In some cases we cannot avoid a yellow cone (for example, bolts in a narrow beam flange). It's just a flag to look closer at it.
