- In this video, I showcase why animations like Jayson Tatum's attack launch to stepback jumper open up the mid-post game unlike in any 2K before! The combination of ProPLAY, shot cancelling, and the ability to create your combos make this an essential for high-post and elbow shot creators!
2K gave us the tools to create a dynamic as close to life offense we’ve gotten. Yet the community focus is to find the cheesiest sigs and jump shots and to exploit the game.
at this point i think if you take your time to learn it the right wy you'll dominate in eery game mode.
I have a lock and the only people that give me problem re pro play guy cos it's hard to predict. especially if they know their release. this Jason tatum move for example would have me having to think about 2 options every time "well he drive, spin or burst and which direction.. and if he stops in to drive is it really a drive or a got to shot and will he follow through with the shot and green or burst out of it and if he does burst then....." you get it

Bruh I say the same thing every year. It's crazy how 2k crafts these amazing games and people literally just spam the same moves over and over.. it blows my mind.. I love the endless ways you can create. It makes the game so much more fun even if i lose at the expense of trying something new

I just love how they’ve gotten rid of ghost contests. I wouldn’t even have attempted half of these shots in prior 2Ks because regardless of how much VISUAL separation you got, you were getting a heavily contested, sped up shot animation
100 percent the most underrated change to what makes this game feel so good to play! You are rewarded for creating separation and making the right reads!
Contests now happen at the beginning of the shot not at the end that's why. With people complaining about shot contest I hope they don't change it.

Releasing it on PC has done absolutely insane wonders to the graphics. These are easily the best the game has ever looked and it’s not even close. People say 2014 and I honestly understand why; but even down to the physics in the jerseys, very tough.
Yeah I agree, 2K14 has the best lighting but it stops there. I spent weeks playing that game while waiting on the release of 25 and while it’s still pretty it doesn’t look better than 25 at all.

If they could fix post fades in the low block specifically on the right side.
It doesn't let you fade away to the opposite shoulder, the animation it gives you is not the one you input. Then again everybody hates post offense lol.
The game needs a bit of tweaking (ie: the substitution/rotation system), but I feel confident in saying this is one of the greatest sports games I've ever played in my life.
The level of control and the level of detail for true basketball fans is on a whole other level.
I seriously thought 2k23 was better than 2k11 as the greatest 2k ever just because I felt like they finally nailed the flow of a full 48 minute NBA game (aside from being able to draw fouls at the rim at a rate greater than James Harden could ever dream of).
This entry of 2k is the first edition (imho) where that game flow is matched with individual player control. It has completely captured the essence of basketball in a way that I've not seen before.

Great video, detailed explanation. I try practicing on the post but AI just keeps double teaming, wondering if it happens to you too? If yes, Do you click on any settings to turn off double team?
The next step I'd like to see from 2k when it comes to playing out of the post is being able to create seperation through contact off of hop jumpers which would bump the defender off similar to how Melo and Kobe would. But this year is still an improvement from 2k24

Definitely, I have a fundamentals of defense dropping first to help people understand the new systems in play. But then the on-ball stuff is coming later!

It'll depend on your hop jumper, so far I think Luka and Kevin Huerter are pretty good. But otherwise, you'll have to experiment bro!

Your nastiest video to date Kevin, No Diddy. This was a true 1 to 1 recreation, of cover athlete but slightly overrated pretty boy Jayson Tatum's mid post game. I know the L2 canceling councilmen say that dribblong needed the most overhaul.. but in my honest opinion. On 2k current gen, the post game was completely outdated. And needed the most overhaul. For the life of me, I couldn't understand why they took the post spin off the left stick, and attached it to the right stick. With a clockwise rotation. While compunding the clunkiness of it. By making you do a face up hesi, when you release L2. What post player does a face up hesi, mid posting 2k?!
But now with the remapping of dribble/post moves to the left stick. We now have ultra fluidty, and dynamism. We can recreate, with any player we like (No Diddy once again lol). That mid post stepback you hit over KP with Luka Da' Don. Last year.. you could literally only do that in your dreams. Then you'd have to wake up and apologize to virtual KP. As he's throwing that ball back down your throat (pause).
Great job as always KC using your platform to educate the 2k youth and seniors. On how to get ethical buckets. And play good basketball, and not good 2k.

First few days on my career i was cancelling out of jimmy butlers hop jumper and then a part way through yesterday it stopped working! They must of patched it, cos it was pretty good. You noticed any shot cancels being removed?

I was able to do this move a few times then the game wont let me do it anymore, giving me the sidestep or sizeup shot every time now lol. Diagonal inputs always been weird in 2k or maybe im just bad

Not sure how that baseline shot with Tatum at the beginning of the video was open? If I would have shot that, it would have been fully contested. That was open, but the step back at the wing before that one was a yellow. Really makes no sense this year with contest.

Jokic is going to get featured more in the main post up video! This move is more for big guards/wings that operate in the mid-post a lot. While Jokic does that in real life, his animations are more suited for traditional back to the basket moves in 25! But it's coming!
Where is melo?
Move focuses more on Melo’s play style, than Melo. His animations are not updated and this showcase wont be possible using him
