I like your attitude Cole-no matter what happens, your thought, “it’ll be alright”! Incidentally glad to see the respirators in the dust! Also,, can always count on you for the perfect camera angles, watch baler and also see the beautiful South Dakota sky! Thx for another one!
Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian. It was very interesting and enjoyable to watch. Sonny never seems to run out of energy. He is quite the dog. Ellie looked like would you please tell this young man to leave me alone-ha!!!!!! Both are very nice dogs. Still hauling some corn I see. You got those belt sizes figured out I see. Just one number different makes a big difference in the belt circumference. Project completed. Looks like getting to the end of your hay baling. You have had a great season for doing hay baling. Produced a lot of hay bales this season. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Lo ve how the cows are lined up to eat. So much work to do on a farm, so much maintained to do. So glad Brian is always teaching Cole. One day Cole will be teaching his son.
When you dumped the pellets and the cloud of dust came up...I turned my face away! Thanks for the realistic and close up camera angles Cole! Your videos are awesome.
Round bails are such an improvement over the old fashioned square (rectangle) bails I uses to work with back in the 70's. At the end of a 12 hour day throwing those things around you couldn't lift your arms above your head to wash your hair in the shower! lol My cousin could lift two at a time and toss them twice as far as I could throw one. Big ol' Indiana farm bred boi.
Fun Fact for those non-farmers. If you have thousands of bushels of corn that can be sold now just before new crop gets harvested........ Then you're doing pretty damn good financially...
Seeing those grasshoppers reminded me of being on the farm when I was about 12 years old. I was riding an old hay rake pulled by my Uncle Mick by a small tractor. The grasshoppers were mating. Uncle Mick had good laugh.
Your 3rd cut at a bale / acre is about the same or better than our first cut west river. Has to green up to regrow. Good thing we put up piles of hay last year cause you never know what the next year will bring.
third cut! gosh i would be very happy if I could get first cut off our of the field. old broken equipment does not help but im slowly welding it back together.
I recently watch a couple other farming channels and I will say you guys do a way better job taking care of your animals and there living conditions then any other channels I have seen animal pens and food lots are always clean and the animals look like there in way better condition so I have to give you props for that I really enjoy your channel so thank you for the videos
Little guy was making the dust fly!! Takes a long time for a rain to get to you guys in that flat country😂😂 when you see a dark cloud!🤦♂️. Thanks Cole and Tiddlle 🤫🤫.
I hope you are as understanding when we I’m Texas talk about how cold we are when it his 40 degrees Fahrenheit as we are with you when you try to tell us the 96 is cold😊
I feel bad for Ellie when the little black fur missile comes streaking across the yard at her. Always nice seeing your pups playing. Thank you for sharing your lives, family and work with us. Wishing you and them a blessed weekend, gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peace Cole.
11:44 imagine you feel this back in June or July in June of July we didn't get grasshoppers this year but we had millions and millions of crickets very weird.
That is awesome to get a third cutting off of that because you planted that in sorghum was that to give you better forage for mixing their feed? Is there more nutrients in the alfalfa, then in the sorghum? Good to see you guys out and about. Looks like you guys could use a little bit of rain looks pretty dry in that field after you got those bales put up peace to you and family.
Cole next time you’re doing bin bottoms use the grain cart as surge. Then you’re stuck in the bin all day. And Brian can haul, come back mt truck fill the front hopper with the cart and part of the back while you’re running the sweep.
Wow, surprised three cuttings pretty good Brian and Cole not bad this year Do you think you’ll be able to get another one out of it before the summers over?❤❤❤❤
Brian, Smitty here from Wisconsin. You're a Packer fan as am I... You're fellow Packer fans would like Cole to interview you on your thoughts of Jordan Love this season..
First time we've seen the Feed Wagon in a while. Could you explain what you mix into your feed and why again? May let some of the people know what all goes into the feed for their steaks.
Nice your getting a third cutting . Cleaning silo Ben’s is no fun. Did you speed up your video? What you planing in that field after you get the hay done? Do you switch the crops around to different field?
I'd assume when you rake the hay that far into anther windrow , as apposed to just turning it over with a smaller rake your likely to loose leaves , a.k.a. protien and quality. Does the larger equipment like this rake offset that likely loss vs.outweigh production time?? Regaurdless, we love you guys......., quality entertainment to an old 70 y.o.a. Hereford / Bison guy, God Bless...
I’m currently on a cruise ship in Greenland, of all places. I ran into another passenger who is also a fan and follower. Small Sonne Farms world.
that is cool thanks for sharing
Nice!
Amazing!
It’s a HUGE Sonne farms world. Maybe intergalactic

Always enjoy my time spent with Sonne Farms ❤. Thanks Cole for another great video.
To think you get a third cutting. That hasn't happened for awhile.... Maybe you get a fourth cutting??
Lo ve how the cows are lined up to eat. So much work to do on a farm, so much maintained to do. So glad Brian is always teaching Cole. One day Cole will be teaching his son.
When you dumped the pellets and the cloud of dust came up...I turned my face away! Thanks for the realistic and close up camera angles Cole! Your videos are awesome.
My new sonne farm hat showed up ! nice . Thank you.
The camera placement on the raker was excellent. Thanks for your efforts to move the camera. Your videos are entertaining.

Song of the day by the Stones , Gimme Shelter, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Ellie called the other night. Wanted to know if there were any tiny dog boarding schools in Iowa. Said she had a candidate. Cost is no issue.
Seeing those grasshoppers reminded me of being on the farm when I was about 12 years old. I was riding an old hay rake pulled by my Uncle Mick by a small tractor. The grasshoppers were mating. Uncle Mick had good laugh.
Another good video. Can’t wait for y’all to run some cattle across those new scales. Thanks.
Thank you Sonne Farms!
Thank you!
Good morning! You fellows have been going thru the net wrap this year!
Hopefully the rest of your crops will do as well as the hay and alfalfa crops are doing, love watching all of your videos!
I have to say I liked the biker story. Wasn’t expecting the part about being 5 yrs old! Nice ending to the episode!
Baling up the alfalfa was your only option, made some hay and that's always good. Good luck on the rest of the corn run. Have a nice day!
Your 3rd cut at a bale / acre is about the same or better than our first cut west river.
Has to green up to regrow.
Good thing we put up piles of hay last year cause you never know what the next year will bring.
Third cutting should be much better. Higher TDN.
Less tonnage but higher quality. At least mid Midwest it is.
Thanks Cole for taking the time to show us all angles😊Brian your hilarious 😂 Tiddlywinks😂❤
Great to see the hay cutting and baling process in action! Loved the update on the alfalfa and sorghum, even with the challenges. 😘😘😘
❤ from Norway
Always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you 😊
Farming days are the best ❤❤❤❤❤
Well I’m glad you have plenty of fodder for the critters this year watching you have to buy it in I could feel your pain

Great video! Glad to see all that hay getting harvested.
Thanks, the blessing of good hay!
I think the hay is looking good, the cows, bulls and steers won't complain!
And that great prairie sky! (Icky grasshoppers, but I was thankful it wasn't mosquitos!)
I recently watch a couple other farming channels and I will say you guys do a way better job taking care of your animals and there living conditions then any other channels I have seen animal pens and food lots are always clean and the animals look like there in way better condition so I have to give you props for that I really enjoy your channel so thank you for the videos

Glad yall are getting your hay supply back up.
You guys are swimming in bales this year! I'm guessing the people that usually do the ditch hay will be having their go at that this year!

Sounds like as Cole gets older his S.D. accent / drawl gets stronger 🤣🤠👍
I remember that gang. Tiddlywinks and Jack Sprat. They were notorious around the kool aid stands back in the day.
legendary
You need guineas for those grasshoppers !🤣🤣🤣
Wow, surprised three cuttings pretty good Brian and Cole not bad this year Do you think you’ll be able to get another one out of it before the summers over?❤❤❤❤

Enjoyed.
First time we've seen the Feed Wagon in a while. Could you explain what you mix into your feed and why again? May let some of the people know what all goes into the feed for their steaks.
Ground grass/alfalfa, ground corn, sorghum or corn silage, some protein pellets
What an ending !!!
lol
I saw Brian and Jeff on Thursday at dakota fest
Miss the song of the day from Pah.
94 and 96 degrees...THAT made the hay dry fast.
Waving a hand from texas
Nice your getting a third cutting . Cleaning silo Ben’s is no fun. Did you speed up your video? What you planing in that field after you get the hay done? Do you switch the crops around to different field?
What weighs more, all the grasshoppers in Uncle Jeff's fields or all the cattle on Sonne Farms?
cattles
How many cattle do you farm? Love this channel !
i dont have time to addd them upp!

its best to rake it with a little dampness to reduce leaf loss
