  • The Department of Energy’s Office of Infrastructure works on large-scale deployment of clean-energy technologies, with $40bn in current projects. How do these initiatives reflect a shift in the department’s approach to clean energy? In what ways are stakeholders overcoming regulatory hurdles and policy uncertainties-and how might the best programmes be replicated? Beyond investment, what institutional and structural changes are needed? Given the complexities of deploying finance in the clean-energy sector, what mechanisms and strategies can speed things up? And as other countries ramp up their efforts, what international collaborations should America prioritise in the next decade?
Moderated by Vijay Vaitheeswaran, global energy and climate innovation editor, The Economist
Speaker: David Crane, Under Secretary for Infrastructure, US Department of Energy
