Pastor Staley I have a question about Duet 22:26. It seems that a woman doesn't have a choice if she's raped and is made to marry the man who's defiled her. Does the woman have a say?
Some “believers” apparently haven’t read the scriptures where Hashem repudiates the concept of vicarious atonement…..I.e. someone substituting for another sins. It is of course, a repugnant doctrine/concept. Beginning with the plea from Moses to offer gos own life for his people. Um ….no. Hashem made it clear that’s unacceptable. And that concert was not only repeated…….but it never changed. If you read carefully, He reieats the theme over and again that He is neither a man….nor dies He change. The principle is clear. The relationship with Hashem is individual…….allowing someone else to take your place is not His way. And if you read the parting words from Moses he makes it clear that we are totally capable of keeping His laws. It’s very clear. And when we falter or fail we simply ask for forgiveness and change direction. Bottom line is of the words in the Christian Bible (NT) oppose the principles and statuses of the Hebrew Scriptures…….trust the origins. There is now NEW AGREEMENT that cancels the old.
