Some of Greg's stories he's told on "Would I Lie To You?" and during his stand up routines honestly make me chuckle to the point of choking; he's one of the best story tellers out there 😂😂
Graham Norton is easily my favorite late night chat show! I try to tell people about it and get them to check it out constantly. Consistently funny and Graham is a fantastic host. So happy you’ve found it and are watching!
I think Graham Norton has to be the best talk show out there. He is hilarious himself and I’m sure the drinks don’t hurt to help loosen the guests up 😅
When you graduate to watching whole shows, the episode with Bill Murray, Matt Damon, and Hugh Bonneville is a MUST. I won't go into what happens, but holy cow, did that crew have fun on the show!! The couch setup used to be standard in American talk shows. Johnny Carson did it that way for his whole run. But somewhere in the 80's, talk shows did away with the couch and went to single guests. Tom Snyder had been doing that for years, and somehow everyone just decided to follow him for some reason. So we rarely see this kind of camaraderie and fun over here. (Also, NOBOCY serves booze, so the shows here are almost never as fun as Graham's. Jeez, American prudery really ruins everything.)
I watch the episode with Bill, Matt & Hugh every so often & still cry laugh 🤣 They already had had a few drinks from the premiere of The Monuments Men so the additional drinks just added fuel to the fire. Agree that you must watch the entire episode, not just clips 👍
You have to watch the compilations of the chair stories from people in the audience. They are very popular and equally hilarious, the celebs react and they have a lever to flip the chair depending on their approval of the story being told. You MUST watch
The one thing I took away from this is that you have never seen Tom Hiddleston in anything else besides him as Loki. 😭 Not even his interviews. My dear friend, we need to remedy that asap!
Graham Norton is hands down my all time favorite talk show host. I grew up watching Johnny Carson, Jonathan Winters, Don Rickles and all the great old American comedians, of which there are so many, but American talk show hosts just were very hit or miss for me. Graham's show is just a looser, more conversational "group chat". Thanks for your time and reaction. More Graham please.😁😂😁😂 Peace✌
The Graham Norton Show is absolutely, hands down, the best late night show in the UK. If you haven't watched the end where they have audience members tell a funny story and the interviewees decide if the story is good or not, YOU my dear are missing out! So funny! You are so me a fair few years ago when I first got here (I'm American, my husband is British). The culture shock is real! Trust me on the audience interviews 🤣🤣
They're allowed to drink, encouraged to drink, so of course they're more relaxed... Plus Graham is a master of getting them talking and then just letting them talk, even amongst themselves instead of talking over them as if the questions are more important, like they do in the state's... The trick to a British talk show is the interviewer isn't the star and the questions are irrelevant, kind of like the panel shows, they invite conversation rather than seek answers, and then step back, and some of the best interactions are between the guests.
So true! Also, I think it helps guests relax because the focus isn’t solely on one person. Quite frequently they’ll start to tell stories amongst themselves and Graham just rolls with it. By watching a full episode, at the end is something called The Big Red Chair, and you’ll hear some pretty funny stories from non celebrities too. Compilations can be funny but sometimes it misses an earlier part of the show which ties into a story. One of the funniest full episodes imo, is with Miriam Margolyes, Alan Cumming and Daniel Radcliffe
It's very much a feel as though you are at a party and just sharing stories at times. It's just a solid, fun show for all. Many actors have said it's the most fun they have ever had on a talk show
There has never been a boring episode of Graham Norton!! I'm really enjoying you watching these clips! I can't wait to see your reactions to future videos!!
@@DavidvsFilm An absolute killer is one with Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Hugh Bonneville. It's quite old (they were promoting 'The Monuments Men') but one of the Americans - can't remember who - said it was the best chat show he'd ever appeared on.

S’up. In the part where Greg Davies is telling his story to Jodie, Russell and Ryan, he borrowed a line from a story Ryan had told earlier in the episode. I think that, and the beverages, contributed to Ryan’s reaction. The story is in a compilation video of Ryan’s appearances in the GN show. It’s not a gut buster but it is worth viewing… because Ryan is good 👁️ 🍭 in whatever he does. IJS 😉

These are fun, it’s a good idea to watch more of these. Just an FYI, the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, way back when, was more like this version of a talk show than something Fallon or Kimmel puts on these days. It wasn’t unheard of for Dean Martin to drop by, drink in hand, when Frank Sinatra was a guest, for example. And each guest would stay on the couch as the new guests were introduced, so you would end up with an interesting mix of people with at least a little bit of interaction. I’ll see if I can find a good one. Peace … (Nope, found nothing, just lots of individual guests.)
Bumped into Gregg in a supermarket, firstly he is incredibly tall, ok, BIG in general, secondly very kind and approachable but lastly and most importantly, very funny.
I have (other) favorite Graham Norton clips. One is when Emilia Clarke was on with Matt LeBlanc from Friends. Seriously funny and cute. My second is one where Ed Sheeran was on and there was a special red chair guest. It gets all crazy after he realizes who's in the red chair. @@katzablot599 I love it! Alex and Greg are the perfect combo. I found it during lockdown and have been a huge fan ever since. Plus, it's introduced me to a lot of British entertainers that I didn't know before :)
Grahams show is one of the only ones you can go on and talk about literally crapping yourself and tell embarrassing stories but everyone on the sofa and the audience think ‘we’ve all been there mate!’
The thing I love about Graham Norton is that he knows exactly when he needs to step back and let them go without interrupting and making it all about himself, and when he needs to steer the conversation. He's very very good at setting his guests at ease and getting them to relax and have a good time. And I'm sure the drinks have something to do with it but honestly I feel it's mostly him.
I'm of the opinion that if an agent or studio sends their talent to Graham, they know what to expect (well, they've learnt..) - with that in mind, it must be nice for these people who usually have to focus on promoting whatever they're "in town" for and saying the key words about it etc., to essentially having the audience join them in the Green room. And knowing that their agent or studio green-lit it. Super green! Edit: I'd suggest watching the full shows that are available for yourself. Stick with these for reactions because time and DMCA but for a "I'm glad I have that show in my life" - Graham Norton is a blinder. 'So Graham Norton' ran from '98 to '02 and is worth a watch as well, though perhaps the more recent shows will have more recognisable guests. Robin Williams makes an appearances too and well, clips of it wouldn't do. There's a couple of decades of Graham Norton on air to catch up on 😃
Hahaha "super green". So true though! And the fact that he can (seemingly effortlessly) get them to open up about personal stories. Some celebrities love telling stories anyway, but others whom I feel like could be guarded like De Niro just go right with the flow!
Graham show is the best for A-listers because they can say whatever they want & can be as outrageous as they want without fear of a backlash, this means they can really open up and be themselves. Pausing works best BTW. 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the reactions! I was a young man living in Dublin when Graham Norton's autobiography was published. I saw him at a signing and was charmed by his personality. His story was the first that I had read from a gay perspective and had a tremendous impact on how I processed my own experience growing up. Anyway! Take a peek at Greg Davies in Taskmaster. I think it's very UA-cam friendly?
First, thank you so much!! I really appreciate that. Second, thank you for sharing this personal anecdote. :) It's amazing the impact visibility and relatability can have on our own development, right? I'm so glad you left this comment! Thank you again
Greg Davies is hilarious and I find him oddly cute! Ryan Gosling's reaction was adorable, but I was amazed at Jody Foster's reaction, too. She is like royalty to me.
Miriam is truly a gift to the world, as is Greg Davies. I’m obsessed with British panel shows. I highly recommend 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Taskmaster, especially.
The true ones are their own truths. The shows researchers ask the guests family and friends for some material. The guest doesn't know what's going to be on the card until they open it.
I love that the guests feel really comfortable, and the plugs don't take the spotlight. Their team does well to research the anecdotes :) Great reaction videos, of course, thanks for that. One of my favourite shows is the ocean's 8 cast one, because of the excellent dynamics between the actresses. I'd love to see you react to that one, at least
8 out of 10 cats does countdown - Sean Lock compilations. Jimmy Carr hosts that too and has some amazing roasts of contestants. You’ll cry laughing watching those. Sarah Millican is also hysterical and has loads of standup specials on UA-cam. I could go on…and I probably will later
i love Graham Norton. he's my second favourite talk show host next to Craig Ferguson... and btw if you haven't seen Craig Ferguson, i think watching some of his compilations would make for amazing reactions, he's SO damn funny. also Loki season 2 is INCREDIBLE
Oh here I am again. Hi from Uk. Just noticed you replied to my comment in your previous video about sound. (Sound little better here ,your still loud and clear) You can't go wrong with Graham show can't believe is on thirty-first series . These shorts are friendly reminders for me. I'm all for humour my go to medicine .
Many famous celebrities actually regard being a guest on Graham Norton's show as a badge of honour now, because they know they can relax and have fun. You're right in saying it's partly due to being allowed to drink alcohol and having them all talk to each other, with Graham just dipping in every now and then to keep the conversation going (he's an absolute master at knowing when to step back and let his guests shine, which I think is a dying skill with many of today's talk show hosts.) However, it's also because he has a phenomenal research team, who are very thorough and go deep into the backstories of all their guests. They're the ones who find the glorious little nuggets of trivia, rather than just hash on the same talking points and controversial issues that the stars may not want to talk about. Matt Damon openly said on the show that this show was the best he'd ever been on, and even Bill Murray, who is apparently notorious for being a little shut down and stiff on talk shows, clearly had a ball when he appeared on it with Hugh Bonneville and Mat Damon (there are some great clips of that one to be found on UA-cam!)
I actually prefer natural reaction and just forgetting about the camera. I don't feel that with pausing, but I also feel talking over clips can feel like a performance for the camera in some ways also. But you do it how you want.
I'm not going to pretend to be any sort of expert on the subject, but I've watched a LOT of Graham Norton material. You mentioned about the celebrities having a drink on the show, which leads to them being more relaxed and telling stories they otherwise might not. I've read (hearsay, I know) that the episodes are shot fairly late on Thursday evenings for airing the following day, and the guests have been sitting drinking and chatting together for up to 2 hours before they come on stage with the live audience. No wonder it's so funny!
If you love Greg you should definitely watch the show Taskmaster. He hosts it with another comedian named Alex Horne. Wild wacky hilarious stuff. Each season is a different cast of 5 British tv personalities that are assigned random tasks to do (to various degrees of success) that are then judged by Greg. TV GOLD 😂😂
Along the Greg Davies, see Task Master a gameshow of sorts however what whole episodes, the highlights are a great look back but the magic is in the interactions and comparisons of thier responses to tasks.
I've only just come across your channel, but other good British shows to react to would be Would I lie to you, 8 out of 10 cats does countdown and Taskmaster
If you’ve seen my Heartstopper reactions, then you’ll know full well my love for OC. She is perfection, and I CAN’T WAIT to get to those clips. :) Thank you!
I don't remember the talking over the clips being a problem the last time, but that IS a good piece of advice, pausing the video very briefly (even back up 2-3 seconds). Because the nature of these GN highlights is that there isn't just one punchline, it's multiple people saying funny things, sometimes one right after another, so it's easy to miss a really solid joke just because they don't necessarily freeze the conversation to acknowledge it.
Yeah typically people on these types of reactions pause and then back it up by a few seconds. Left arrow key makes that easy. Mainly so you don't miss punchlines and funny buildups.
The “Jackson Pollock” reference was used in reference to a story Gosling had told on the couch earlier in the episode which is why he laughed so hard
The episode with Bill Murray and Matt Damon where they proceed to down glasses of wine is amazing
The main difference between this show and American talk shows I think is that they're allowed (and encouraged) to drink which aids significantly in the chaos. Not just you-I immediately thought of the Chris Farley character😅
The Olympic medalists are Irish rowers from Cork (hence the stroñg accent) and won gold for Ireland in Rio 2016
Thank you!!
They do have fun with Graham he does take them out for dinner few drinks before the show.
I’ve noticed that! It makes his show so much more enjoyable as a result, imho.
And thank you!!
sometimes i just fall down a graham norton rabbit hole for hours, it’s fabulous
Hahaha yeah, I get what you mean. I’m about to start watching Taskmaster soon, actually, and I’m really excited about checking it out!
Miriam is truly a gift to the world, as is Greg Davies. I’m obsessed with British panel shows. I highly recommend 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Taskmaster, especially.
Thank you so much! I want to check those out also :)
The true ones are their own truths. The shows researchers ask the guests family and friends for some material. The guest doesn't know what's going to be on the card until they open it.
Craig Ferguson compilations are also nice to react to. Kate Mara's both appearances on his show are funny
This Show is one of the Best Shows out there
I love it!
Did you watch Fleabag????
i love Graham Norton. he's my second favourite talk show host next to Craig Ferguson... and btw if you haven't seen Craig Ferguson, i think watching some of his compilations would make for amazing reactions, he's SO damn funny.
also Loki season 2 is INCREDIBLE
Thank you!! Actually, funny enough I saw Craig Ferguson in person here in Houston once. He was hosting an event that I was at, and he was great!
@19:00 hell yeah "dayou remember that time..."
Tom is proper fan girling right now bless him xx
hahahahaha
Greg is a legend
TV GOLD 😂😂
I never tire of his school story 😂 yes other actors laughed 😊
14:42 Graham Norton's show is unique in that way.
Just love Graham Norton,🇬🇧🇺🇸
The Robbie Williams story about the castle was really funny, along with the whole interview with Matt Damon, Bill Murray
Those are DEFINITELY on my list. Thank you!!
There's a show called " would I lie to you" FUNNY English show.
great reaction, lots of fun :)
Olivia Coleman is the best guest on Graham Norton (next to Miriam Margolyes, of course)
I only have one request for a Graham Norton video reaction from you: "The BEST Of Doctor Who on The Graham Norton Show".
British comedy, Jimmy Carr, Would I lie to you and Mrs, Brown's boys
Thank you!!
Great show.
Heck yeah! I love it.
Pausing definitely better 👍
8 out of 10 Cats is also great
Oh it’s on the list! Thank you.
Currently I have Would I Lie to You, Taskmaster, and Cats to work in with Graham Norton on future reactions :)
Oh yay you did it! Graham Norton is the best!
Yes! Good luck turning me back around now! lol
@@DavidvsFilm nevaaaaah. You’re one of us now. One of us…One of us….
@@yazminasporrong8880 hahahahahaha
Alan Carr has a chat show also, he's hilarious!
😂 he won’t shut up he loves him so much aw! So sweet ❤ bob!
Yeah typically people on these types of reactions pause and then back it up by a few seconds. Left arrow key makes that easy.
Mainly so you don't miss punchlines and funny buildups.
Best episode Bill Murray Matt Damon and Hugh Bonniville all drunk as lords very funny for The Monuments Man film publicity
