      can't believe 36people thumbed up this. As a hiring Manager, Integrity, discernment and CUNNING are worth so much more than any other skill that was displayed here. If on our first meeting you will take me as an absolute fool and literally search the answers while i'm watching you do so as if I'm stevie wonder, No thank you you're not getting hired.
      If you tell me you dont know, that's okay I can help you learn, we don't expect you to have all the skills. Some questions are literally to trip you up and see how you respond (again Integrity).
      If you are SUPER slick in your setup to cheat, to a level that you are clever enough to fool me, well that shows again that you are cunning, and creative and if you've practiced to the point that I can't detect it, then you are deeply invested, I can channel that energy into working with my Projects a fake it til you make it approach, but make no mistake, I know. If I have to code something from scratch I'll look up a previous example to quickly build what I need to build. If I can copy the basic foundation to accomplish the task then I don't have to remember the exact syntax on how to do something in 5-10 different languages. Pile that on top of the stress and nerves of an interview.

    • @RakeshSahu-cr9ks
      @RakeshSahu-cr9ks 2 роки тому +13

      Well the point is, even if someone gets the right answer after googling, the interviewer would probably know that the person just googled or referred to some source. There is a reason why they are interviewing, we should always know that they are smarter enough to know. I have seen many instructors, who can tell what website one person is referring to just from the way they frame their answers.
      I still think - the best way to handle a question that you're not sure of, is just being honest about it. And add whatever you know about that topic/context. Its not a big deal to not know answers, its definitely a let down, when the interviewer finds interviewee cheating , haha xD

      @@RakeshSahu-cr9ks Not true. If you get the answer, you pass. If you don't, you don't move to next round. As simple as that. This is why the interview system is broken and can't be avoided. You want to Google and find the answer, ask the interviewer if you can use Google to may be find some stuffs related to the question, pretty sure 10/10 interviewers wont let you Google the entire question and give them an answer.

    I feel like nowadays people don't go much into the theoretical part and it's fine according to me as soon as they are producing results. Many recruiters take candidates based solely on questions they ask, and then they struggle to produce results. When I take the interview, after a brief introduction, I give them a major task (generally a big assessment) and they are free to use Google or StackOverflow when they are done with the task, I ask questions based on how they did that, ask why they use this function (which they use on the task). What I generally look at those candidates is if they are capable of producing results or not! even if they are coping from somewhere, they must know how to use or where to paste that code. these days you can google everything, there is no need to mug up everything! And yes they do need to know some basic answers. But I solely judge candidates by the ability of tasks they can complete.

    Those saying prepare for an interview, how many companies even tell you what theyre going to ask? There are a billion possible things to be asked on an interview, most recruiters find joy in people flopping in an interview and most even ask silly questions . Best interview is testing on hands on practical stuff they will be doing on the job, not asking some theoretical silly questions that people may know answers to but may not be able to answer because of pressure.
